Hekmatyar has told the Taliban that they-Hezb-e-Islami-have fought for the cause of Islam even prior to the Taliban’s birth.
True. Not that Islam has benefitted from either champion, but they have tried in their differently deqr little ways. The former warlord added that if the Taliban can prove the ongoing war to be in favor of Islam and the people of Afghanistan, they-Hezb-e-Islami will too join them. He reiterated that the current conflict is neither in the favor of Islam nor the people of Afghanistan.
"There is neither rational nor religious justification for continuation of war", Hekmatyar added
He suggested, reconciliation, peace, intra-afghan talks and dialogue should be deemed as the ideal and rational means through which the goals should be pursued.
Gulbadin Hekmatyar by addressing the Taliban said, they-the Taliban- can achieve nothing but demolition and killing civilians by persisting in the ongoing war, thus they have to shun it.
