Ukraine to set up cyber troops as new military branch

[Korrespondent] A new branch of the armed forces will be created in Ukraine - cyber troops. Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said this on Tuesday, June 1, during a working visit to the Republic of Lithuania, according to the NSDC's Facebook page.
Danilov noted that the challenges and threats in cyberspace today are much more dangerous than nuclear weapons, and the exchange of experience on this issue is extremely important. According to him, activation of cooperation in the framework of the cyber center in Kaunas is relevant in this direction.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine stressed the importance of strengthening practical cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. He noted that Ukraine will "maximally support the idea of creating a cyber-NATO, which can become one of the most powerful alliances, given the level of penetration of information technologies into all spheres of the state's life and the shift of confrontation from the conventional to the cybernetic field."
For his part, Kuleshus supported Danilov's proposal to strengthen cooperation in the field of cybersecurity between the two countries and assured that Lithuania supports Ukraine on the way to integration into NATO and the EU.
We will remind that earlier hackers posted a fake order on the websites of the authorities of the Kiev region. Cybercriminals published an order of the alleged head of the Regional State Administration, in which they demanded to provide lists of young men 15 years old and older.
The SBU also announced that it had prevented a hacker attack on the state bodies of Ukraine . A hacker from Zaporozhye received an offer of confidential cooperation from a Russian citizen. He agreed to conduct subversive activities against Ukraine for money.
