'We called a month ago, and now a child's dead': Neighbors of Cash Gernon reported 'killer' Darriynn Brown to police 'several times' for breaking into cars and menacing behavior but they never followed up

A neighbor of slain 4-year-old Cash Gernon says he saw Darriynn Brown trying to break into cars a month before the boy was killed

Brown, 18, was also believed to have been spotted on April 19 breaking a home surveillance camera

'We called a month ago, and now a child's dead'

Other neighbors say they reported Brown to police 'several times' but there was no follow up on the complaints

On May 15, Cash was snatched from his bed in father’s ex-girlfriend’s house by Brown

Brown had been watching the Gernon home for weeks and was spotted hovering around on surveillance cameras about 10 weeks before the killing

He's been charged with kidnapping and theft in relation Cash's death, and police are awaiting forensic results to decide on murder charges

#2 Forensic tests shouldn't matter for the murder charge. Kidnapping is a felony; Cash died while "Darriyn" was committing a felony -- felony murder applies. If there had been no kidnapping, there would have been no death.
