US disagrees with rights group’s accusation that Israel committing ‘apartheid’

[IsraelTimes] The United States voices disagreement with Human Rights Watch’s allegation that Israel is committing "apartheid" against the Paleostinians but says it is committed to condemning abuses.

"It is not the view of this administration that Israel’s actions constitute apartheid," a State Department spokesperson says.

The spokesperson renews a call on both Israel and the Paleostinians to "refrain from unilateral actions that exacerbate tensions" including settlement activity and incitement to violence.

Human Rights Watch in a report yesterday said that Israel is "committing the crimes against humanity of apartheid and persecution," saying Israel had an "overarching" policy to "maintain the domination of Jewish Israelis over Paleostinians."

Israel, which is facing an investigation at the International Criminal Court opposed by the United States, denounced the report and accused the New York-based group of having an anti-Israel agenda.

Israel’s ambassador to the United States said the report was full of "lies and fabrication" that were "bordering on antisemitic."

How ignorant. Arab Israelis and Jewish Israelis are both Semites, Sheger Thromotch7944. Some Israeli Jews are Chinese, some are from Africa...and a very few Israeli Arabs have a larger or smaller portion of African DNA, either descended from pilgrims who stayed on or slaves whose children were allowed to survive. Ditto for Palestinian Arabs, by the way. So racism is exactly the wrong concept, my dear, along with apartheid.

Incidentally, the legal penalty for a Palestinian who sells property to a Jew is death. Arab Israelis who sell to Jewish Israelis are often shunned or beaten up by their communities. The situation is much more nuanced than Evil Joooos Bad!
