The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved the music of the nineteenth-century Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky as a replacement for the Russian anthem at the 2021 and 2022 Olympics, which will be held in Tokyo and Beijing, respectively. This was announced on April 22 by the head of the ROC Stanislav Pozdnyakov.
The Olympic Games in Tokyo are to be held from July 23 to August 7, 2021, and in Beijing from February 4 to 20, 2022.
Earlier it was reported that during the Olympic Games in Tokyo, athletes will be prohibited from kneeling and participating in BLM promotions.
