House Republicans Who Voted to Impeach Trump See Fundraising Boost
[WSJ] As they prepare to face primary challengers, the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach then-President Donald Trump after his supporters stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 raised significantly more money during the first quarter of 2021 than they did two years earlier.

The group, leveraging the power of incumbency, also swamped their GOP primary opponents in almost every instance during the first round of fundraising since angering Mr. Trump with their votes, new Federal Election Commission filings show.

While all the incumbents outraised challengers who filed campaign finance reports, it is still early in the two-year election cycle and money is just one factor in typically low-turnout primaries.

Mr. Trump’s political-action committees could also weigh in financially on some of the contests, and his endorsements could carry significant weight with the party’s base. The PACs aren’t required to report their latest totals until July, but one of them, Save America PAC, started the year with $31 million in the bank and has continued to raise money since then.

In a speech earlier this year at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where he called out all 10 by name, Mr. Trump told his supporters to "get rid of them all" in next year’s elections.

#1 Just not from any Republican donors.

#2 A few of them will survive. I don’t expect fair elections anyway. The last fair election was 2016, 22 will be like 2020 now that they got away with it.

#6 Money can't save them. But Dominion can and will.

#7  Just not from any Republican donors.

Drop the title in the Google app to discover that is not quite true. Rep. Liz Cheney got donations from Mitt Romney’s PAC and a smaller amount from the Republican Jewish Coalition. But I’m sure the majority came from Progressive groups.

It’s well worth reading the rest of the article. The ten who need to be primaried are:

Liz Cheney (Wyo)
Adam Kinzinger (IL)
Jaime Herrera Beutler (Wash)
Anthony Gonzalez (OH)
Peter Meijer (MI)
John Katko (NY)
Tom Rice (SC)
Fred Upton (MI)
David Valadao (CA)
Dan Newhouse (Wash)

Rep Cheney already has three Republican challengers — Anthony Bouchard has raised the most thus far.

Rep Kinzinger is being challenged by Catalina Lauf, who does not yet live in the district.

Rep Rice is being challenged by Ken Richardson.

Rep Gonzalez is being challenged by Trump campaign and White House aide Max Miller.

Pro-Trump congresscritters Marjorie Taylor Greene and Jim Jordan have also raised substantial sums this quarter.

#8  I don’t expect fair elections anyway.

For the most part, Republican-controlled states are quietly working on passing laws to tighten up voting procedures (and loosen gun control). If Democrat-controlled Washington wants to change the rules for the entire country, they’ll have a fight on their hands.

So we’ll have a split next year— red states with fair elections, blue states without. What happens after that depends on who controls the Senate even more than the House.

#9 A few of them will survive.

I don't think so. They're not consistent with the left's ideology and will be an easy target for the 'progressive' dark money and dirty tricks.

The Dems smell blood here. Expect a weak right-wing primary challenge fight (by design) and an overwhelming assault by the Dems for the actual seat

#11 I predict that Trump stumps for their opposition and the poll numbers show most of these folks have no chance and most of them decide to drop out before being humiliated.
