Taliban keeps ties with ‘international terrorism’, Peace hopes shattered

have kept up a close relationship with "international terrorists" despite having promised to cut ties with terrorist groups including al-Qaeda.
Interior Minister Masoud Andarabi on Sunday said that the Taliban have not yet severed ties with "international terrorism" despite the US-Taliban agreement in Doha.
Reality intervenes
During his visit to Kandahar province where festivities have escalated in the recent months, Andarabi said that the Taliban have not fulfilled their promise and kept relation with al-Qaeda and other "terrorist groups".
He also added that imported muscle affiliated with the Taliban are fighting in the battlefields, in an operation in Arghandab of Kandahar commandos have witnessed imported muscle alongside the Taliban, and observed the tactics the Taliban used in digging tunnels, planting mines all indicate their relations with international terrorism.
This comes as parliament speaker, Mir Rahman Rahmani on his three-day visit to Tajikistan on Sunday said that extreme level of violence and Taliban arrangements and provisions for the battle in the upcoming warm seasons shattered hopes for peace.
