Italian Police Use Lamborghini Huracan to Transport Kidney 300 Miles in Just Two Hours
[The Drive] Averaging 145 miles per hour, the Italian State Police delivered a donor kidney last week from Rome to Padua—a journey of more than 300 miles—in around two hours. The Lamborghini Huracan they used, which was specially modified for such tasks with a refrigerated frunk, was obtained by the Italian police back in 2017. Speedy organ delivery isn't its only job, though. In fact, it's a regular patrol vehicle for the department with lights, a police computer and other equipment necessary to perform traffic stops and arrests. Luckily for other speeders, it was too busy flying down the road for officers to check their radar guns.

The Italian State Police posted a video on Twitter after the delivery was complete. It's somewhat bizarre to see a Lamborghini Huracan, exhaust popping and V10 screaming, flashing police lights and speeding down the highway, but that's Italy for you. The police's tweet also thanked the Ministry of Health, the National Transplant Center and, of course, Lamborghini.

#9  Passing speed on the Autobahn

Only if the driver behind one in the left lane is not going faster, as they so often do. If they are, then move to the right to get out of the way, because they brake an inch behind the bumper of the slower car. It was an interesting learning experience, back when 120 kph was the minimum speed, not the maximum for much of the country.

My little second hand BMW 318 was not happy above 130 kph. But the 500 series, and the analogous 400 series Mercedes, had a cruising speed of 145 kph, and happily went at upward of 200 kph when the driver was feeling aggressive. I made a point of taking a nap or reading to the trailing daughters when he did that, because I can’t process fast enough to recognize approaching doom at that speed.
