Mastermind Behind Kabul University Attack Arrested
[ToloNews] First Vice President Amrullah Saleh on Saturday said the Afghan forces have arrested the criminal mastermind behind the deadly attack on Kabul University that left at least 22 people dead, most of whom were students of the university.

Saleh said in a Facebook post that the suspect, Adil, is a resident of Panjshir province and had studied three years at Sharia Law Faculty. After that, Saleh said, Adil was recruited by Sanaullah, a member of the Haqqani network
...a branch of the Afghan Taliban, based in Pakistain. The network is a family business founded by the later Jalaluddin Haqqani...
Saleh said the suspect has confessed that he was assigned to carry out the activities that could pressure the Afghan government.

The first vice president said that Adil’s family is living in Pul-e-Charkhi area in Kabul and that their neighbors have said that he was missing for the last three years and it was rumored that he has gone abroad for "studies and war."

He said that those who conducted the attack have multiple identities as sometimes they affiliate themselves to Hizbut Tahrir
...an al-Qaeda recruiting organization banned in most countries. It calls for the reestablishment of the Caliphate...
, or Taliban
...Arabic for students...
and ISIS.

According to him, Adil has confessed that he received the weapons for the attack from the Haqqani network in Khost province
... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name...
ISIS claimed responsivity for the attack, but the Afghan government has blamed the Taliban for the Kabul University attack. The Taliban has denied involvement in the attack.

Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid in a tweet rejected the statement and said the suspect is not a member of the Haqqani network.

The attack left over 40 others maimed. At least 18 of those killed were students of the Public Administration School and Law Faculty of Kabul University.
Khaama Press further identifies our little emir as Adil, son of Mohammad Aref.
From Deutsche Welle:
Afghan forces have the "mastermind" behind a brutal attack at Kabul University earlier this month, Afghanistan's intelligence agency said on Saturday.

Three gunman stormed the university's campus in broad daylight on November 2, spraying bullets into classrooms. At least 22 people were killed and 27 more injured before Afghan forces fatally shot the attackers.

The assault came just days after 24 people were killed in a suicide bomber attack at the Kawsar-e Danish Education Center in the Afghan capital.

The so-called "Islamic State" claimed responsibility for both attacks, though top Afghan officials blamed the university attack on the Taliban.

The country's National Directorate of Security (NDS) said that special forces arrested the "main mastermind" behind both attacks, identified Mohammad Adel, in a targeted operation in Kabul.

NDS said the suspect admitted during his interrogation that he proposed the idea to attack the university, saying it "would get wide coverage and put pressure on the government."
