Another massive US arms sale to Taiwan announced overnight — $2.4 billion of Harpoon missiles.

Taiwan’s F16s & navy vessels already have Harpoons in their arsenal so this is a re-up at a time when Chinese sabre rattling over Taiwan is at its highest since at least mid-90s

#1 Supposedly 400 Harpoons. Would have rather it been stealthy LRASM and jamming pods but Taiwan is thoroughly infiltrated w/ Chicom spies and can't be trusted with latest weapons tech.

#2 LRASM is air launched for now. I think there are trials underway to launch it from a canister.

#3 @2 There are for the older frigates that don't have the vertical launch systems. Expect to enter service in 2023.

Harpoons are great for Taiwan and perfect for going after landing craft.

#4 Taiwan should quit buying it's personal supplies for troops from PLA companies.
Esp the toothpaste and soap.
Given the way they unleashed Corona on the world those supplies should be disposed of.
