Pakistan Hopes Dashed, Remains On Terror Financing List Till 2021

 [KhaamaPress] Pakistain’s hopes were dashed as the global watchdog on terror financing and money laundering FATF ruled against taking Pakistain off the grey list.
The decision was taken on Friday during the virtual plenary meeting of the FATF.
Despite many efforts, Pakistain has not been able to get out of the grey list, according to FATF, Pakistain had not met the conditions for removing the country from the gray list and was once again on the list.
FATF said in a statement, that Pakistain had complied with 21 of its 28 conditions.
Pakistain has long been accused of supporting terrorist groups and has repeatedly denied such allegations. The country has been on the global terrorist grey list since June 2018, this list usually includes countries that support terrorist groups as well as money laundering.
Pakistain is reported to remain in the grey list until February 2021, and upon fulfilling the requirements of FATF. The FATF is an inter-governmental body established in 1989 to fight money laundering, terrorist financing, and other related threats to the integrity of the international financial system.
