Bill Barr's ‘Unmasking' Probe Into Obama Officials Concludes without Charges
[GatewayPundit] The US Attorney tapped by Attorney General Bill Barr to investigate “unmasking” done by Obama’s criminal officials around the 2016 has concluded the probe without bringing any charges, according to the Washington Post.

US Attorney John Bash reportedly found no evidence of wrongdoing and concluded the probe without charges and without a public report.

The probe into unmasking was launched in May of this year after then-acting DNI Richard Grenell declassified the list of Obama officials involved in the unmasking of General Mike Flynn in his conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Names included former CIA Director John Brennan, Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power and former DNI chief James Clapper.

Joe Biden was also on the list!

US Attorney John Bash was also investigating whether Obama officials leaked information to reporters, but found no wrongdoing.

#2 Some people figured out that nothing would happen the moment that the "investigation" was announced.

Other people said "Muh sealed indictments! Wait til the end of summer!"

Maybe they meant summer in the Southern Hemisphere in 2030.

#3 Laws for the plebs, not for the Patricians. Seems politburo members (democrats in power positions) have special rules under KGB (FBI/DOJ) guidelines. Sound familiar comrades?

#6 What do you suppose this bodes (if anything) for the John Durham investigation? US Attorney John Huber's investigation seems to have yielded zilch on the Clinton Foundation investigation. Has all this just been Washington pretending to be doing something whereas it isn't doing anything to clean up corruption? So the two-tier system of justice is still intact?

#7 #6 "Ill" to the first question. "Yes" to the last two questions.

It was all crap designed to render us passive in the hope that someone was TCB.

Welp!

The chances of anything happening is slim to none... and Slim got ran out of town.

Even less of odds if Biden wins.

#9 Unfortunately for all of us, if the Left succeeds in sparking a civil war they are so looking for and loses, I suspect the finer points of the law are going to be jettisoned and some form of justice will be rendered.

#10 Explanation from a friend. As you might have heard, the DOJ probe into the extensive unmasking of US citizen communications metadata under Obama has concluded without any report or indictments. Here's what I wrote elsewhere in response to the suggestion that we should stop being angry about the unmasking now:
When then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid lied on the Senate floor in 2012 about Mitt Romney paying no income taxes, he did so under the immunity members of Congress have for statements made officially in that context. What he did could not be prosecuted nor could Romney sue, because we rightly give members of Congress wide discretion in that context.
Reid was abusing that discretion in order to influence the ongoing presidential election. When he was out of office and was challenged on why he lied under cover of his immunity, he smirked and said, "It worked, didn't it?"
Reid abused his legal immunity for political purpose. That abuse and his casual defense of it was appropriately anger making.
There is extensive discretion that senior executive branch officials have with regard to national security mechanisms. That discretion is necessary.
It is also however subject to significant abuse whose impact has grown in parallel with the capabilities of technical information gathering and analysis. Unless officials who wish to abuse national security mechanisms for political ends are utterly stupid, they are able to create enough official cover to protect themselves from indictment and conviction. Susan Rice's CYA email to herself on the last day of the Obama administration is a good example of how to do that.
One can disagree with discretionary judgements by officials and yet accept them when they are made in good faith. Anger is, however, an appropriate response when the extent, nature, and timing of them strongly points to abuse for political purposes.
Reid's cynical and corrosive action was not widely rejected by members of his own political party. That's one reason Trump got elected.
Abuses of the national security mechanisms, whether "simply" abusive unmasking and unprecedented sharing of the unmasked information across many federal agencies or the deeper abuses involved in lying so as to acquire FISA warrants, seriously corrode the trust of many citizens who see themselves increasingly disenfranchised by power holders with the tacit or open support of those who align politically with the abusers.
When neither legal recourse nor even public condemnation of abuses is on offer, the remaining options for pushing back on such abuse do not bode well for a peaceful shared future.
