Illinois Teen Shown in Viral ‘Self-Defense' Video Charged with First-Degree Homicide

Judging from all appearances and reported prior arrests of the attackers, a Public Service Homicide (PSH).

[Guns America Digest] A 17-year-old from Illinois has been charged with first-degree homicide after his involvement in two separate shootings Tuesday that left two people dead and one wounded at the Jacob Blake protests in Kenosha, Wi.

The Village of Antioch Police Department announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday that Kenosha authorities had charged Antioch resident Kyle Rittenhouse with the crime. He is in the custody of the Lake County Judicial System pending an extradition hearing to transfer custody from Illinois to Wisconsin.

That would be Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley.

Viral videos of both incidents rocketed around social media yesterday. In the first, a person who appears to be Rittenhouse carrying an AR-15 can be seen running away from a protester who throws something on fire at him.

Moments later, eight shots ring out, though it isn’t clear how many of them come from Rittenhouse’s rifle. At least some of the shots came from an unknown gunman who fired into the air, according to the New York Times. A man lies on the ground between two cars, and Rittenhouse circles around while speaking on the phone.

People can be heard yelling "Call 911! Get help!" Rittenhouse, still on the phone, runs from the scene and out of the frame.

Rittenhouse shot the man in the head, and he later died.

Rittenhouse was running for his life even before the first shooting. He never stood his ground.

Tolerance for BLM vandalism, looting and arson in Kenosha was a political decision which caused this development.

Why aren't there protests against the responsible office holders?

This is a political issue not a legal issue.

#6 With the DAs letting violent rioters go and charging those that defend themselves, you will start to see violence against them.

Back in the day they used to not only tar and feather them, but string them up in the street. They are playing a dangerous game and they will not like the outcome.

#10 Apparently the BLM arsonists became really agitated and furious at the protectors when one one of them put out a dumpster fire BLM intended to use as a weapon.

All of this close to a gas station.

Rittenhouse might have been initially chased because they wanted to avenge the death of their precious dumpster fire.

Preventing arson might have been the proximal trigger of this mess which implies that the DA is objectively pro burning down Kenosha.
