4 Afghan Forces, 8 Taliban Killed in Balkh Clashes

were killed and two other security force members were maimed in Balkh province on Wednesday night, said a local police official on Thursday.
The incident happened in Timor-Sarai village in Balkh district on Wednesday night. The Taliban attacked the security forces and the "festivities continued for more than three hours," said Aid Shah Adil, a front man for the provincial police chief.
He did not provide further details.
The Taliban has not commented on the attack.
