#6 When AP, CNN and the like say there is "no evidence" this stuff works, what they mean is that there are no double blind, placebo controlled clinical trials. And there won't be for some time. In the real world, however, this stuff is saving lives.

Not how the political calculus works.

Cuomo has a call option right now: he can tut-tut in general terms while still, quietly, allowing the experimental treatments to go forward and keeping an eye on the results. If they work, then Cuomo will bask in the glory.
