Kamala Harris getting vice president buzz as Democrats worry over lack of diversity in White House race

is getting major buzz as a possible vice presidential pick even as Democrats raised the alarm over a dramatic lack of diversity in the all-white top tier of their presidential primary contest.

Biden showered praise on Harris even though they famously clashed on the Democratic debate stage in the spring about his history of working with white Dixiecrats in the Senate decades ago.
"She can be president someday herself, she can be vice president, she could go on to be a Supreme Court justice, she could be attorney general," Biden said. "I mean she has enormous capability."
Warren also raced to make sure to let everyone know her Senate colleague would be a veepstakes front-runner.
"Kamala Harris would be on any Democrat’s short list. She’s smart, she’s confident," Warren said.
Despite the collapse of her campaign, Harris could be an electoral asset to any of the remaining candidates. Democrats rely heavily on the votes of women and minority groups so the party’s standard-bearer would almost certainly want to give the strongest possible nod to that diversity by adding a woman of color to the ticket.
Other possible vice presidential contenders not in the White House race include Stacy Abrams and Andrew Gillum, who narrowly lost races for governor in Georgia and Florida, both must-win states for President Trump.

Buttigieg also campaigned for Indiana state treasurer in 2010 and for chair of the Democratic National Committee in 2017, losing both elections. He is running for the Dem nomination in 2020 on the theory that being mayor of a nondescript medium sized city is qualification to run the country...
With Harris gone, there will almost certainly not be a single black or Latino candidate on the December debate stage. That’s embarrassing for a party that elected the first black president in Barack Obama

, who has failed to gain much traction in the race so far, called for support to keep a black voice in the contest that now includes two billionaires in Michael Bloomberg and Tom Steyer.
Booker could benefit from Harris bowing out, if Biden’s support among black voters starts to soften. However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
so far there has been little sign of that happening and he remains far behind not only Biden but the other white front-runners among black voters.
