ACC arrests civil aviation official with bribe money

[Dhaka Tribune] Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested an official of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on charges of taking bribes.HM Rashed Sarkar, CAAB junior license inspector and consultant, was arrested from the capital's Uttara with bribe money on Friday.

ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

"CAAB official Rashed was arrested from Uttara's BFC restaurant with more than Tk1 lakh in bribe money. He took the bribe from a pilot candidate to provide illegal favours at his exam.

"A team led by Deputy Director of the ACC, Masudur Rahman, will file a case with its Integrated District Office Dhaka 1 in this regard soon," the ACC official said.
