The scruff — the modern incarnation of the carefully curated Miami Vice look with electric razors offering alternate heads for how many days one wants to look unshaven — is all the rage at the moment among the shirt’n’tie crowd... and in romance novels. They’re all non-conforming together. (Yes, I am glad Mr. Wife finally shaved his off. But it’s his face, and it keeps him from exercising his need for novelty more creatively.)
