Weak Two: Empty Seats Outnumber Fans in Several NFL Stadiums
Play stupid games, win real world consequences.
[BREITBART] As Week Two of the NFL’s 100th season kicks off, a quick look through social media finds many fans still wondering about all the empty seats as their favorite teams hit the gridiron.

The worst example appeared to be at L.A. Memorial Coliseum where the Rams were battling the visiting New Orleans Saints. Fans flooded social media with questions over the size of the crowd:

Also, as the Redskins at home at FedExField took on the visiting Dallas Cowboys ‐ and lost to Dallas, 31-21 ‐some wondered where the fans went:

The same question occurred to Dolphins fans as Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium seemed to have more than a few empties. Others probably wondered if the Dolphins even showed up with their crushing 43-0 loss to the New England Patriots:

Heinz Field was also said to be lacking fans as the Pittsburgh Steelers welcomed the Seattle Seahawks who beat the home team in a squeaker, 28-26:

The stands at the New York Giants’ MetLife Stadium were also sparsely populated as far as some fans thought. Fans were also not likely very happy that the Giants lost to the Buffalo Bills, 28-14, either:

At least one fan thought that the Bengals’ Paul Brown Stadium was not as full as it should be when the 49ers came to town to beat the home team 41-17:

Finally, fans worried that Nissan Stadium was lacking enthusiasm as the home team Titans took on, and lost to, the Indianapolis Colts, 19-17:

Nothing's dumber than making the same mistake twice. There's a reason the L.A. Raiders moved back to Oakland, and that's because L.A. residents do not like professional football.

#3 At least the Dolphins, Giants & Bengals crowds (or lack thereof) make some sense - fans knew from the start of the season two weeks ago that they all suck big hairy donkey balls. Pittsburgh's a head scratcher, though that will probably remain the case now that Big Ben's out for the season with that elbow injury. Would like to see some 'journalists' start interviewing these former fans for the reason why; it's too easy to blame it on Kaepernick and I think in any case it's multiple reasons, not just Kneeling Douche Boy.

#7 There was a time when sports was supposed to personify the American pursuit of excellence. To support your local team was to support America as a whole. When your local team basically spits on you and calls you a bunch of racists, people instead give them the big finger and look for other things.

It's hard to boycott what you never gave a damn about anyway, but others are now seeing my viewpoint. I'll watch when it reaches the point of last person to leave the field alive wins. That might be entertaining and justify their stupid salaries.

#10 Not to disagree with the general trend, but there is one NFL player who seems to have his head screwed on straight: A spoprtcaster quoted Dallas Cowboys QB Zak Prescott at length on Sunday. I can't find an article, but I heard it with my own ears. (Paraphrasing)

It's not about the money. I love the game. I just want to be the best player I can be.

Now, he's still negotiating his contract, and that statement won't hurt his value, to be sure, but it's got more style than Kneeling-Kapperdick or holdout running back Zeke Elliot (who trained at Cabo while he was holding out). And Dak's first two games were fabulous.

#16 I agree with Raj. Something is fishy if someone uses LA attendance as some kind of yardstick for the nation. They've probably got the exact same group of football fans half-filling both stadiums (and waiting to drive to Vegas to catch Raiders games). Those folks are probably super-happy but they are a minority.

#23 If the national anthem or flag is disrespected at an event, I can't think of any citizenry in the world that's going to pay to go still watch it and participate. The size of the audience in fact is indicative of the divide in Americans otherwise once united on innocent pastimes and sport.

#25 Football will be dead in a decade as parents refuse to let their kids play because of microcuncussions and that starts to starve the system of the number of necessary players.

The guys in charge are probably hoping to (a) buy off SJW sympathies to stave off lawsuits related to microcuncissions (b) ensure they get into the the good parties after the NFL folds.
