#2 aims to make computers smarter than humans

I'm afraid for most folks they already are.

#4 I expect the Donks to shut that program down, it would endanger their voting base.

#5 The Donks think that this is their future voting base.

Let's look at the semantics, who gets to define SMART?

#6 The only valid argument I ever heard in defense of Microsoft Windows is that it's "good enough". So now that I hear that the inventor of "good enough" is going to make AI smarter than humans, it kinda makes me chuckle.

#7 With M$S involved expect all their code to be hacked from day one and have back doors everywhere.

#9 Seriously what could go wrong...go wrong...go wrong...Hal?

#10 Well, it was HAL, and Arthur C. Clarke swore up and down and left and right it was a complete coincidence that HAL was IBM offset by one letter. HAL was a lesson in the nature of GIGO. All the social justice crap that will be coded into any AI project funded by the leftist blob will be, to paraphrase Heinlein, "indistinguishable from a psychotic newt on crack..."

#11 The creepiest part of the HAL character was reactivation in 2010. HAL was completely ignorant of the crimes he committed and was again so flawlessly logical that "he" agreed to facilitate his own destruction. Clarke was way ahead of everyone in understanding the flawed coin AI would have to be.
