, told a French publication on Tuesday that Iran had failed to win over the region.

"It is wrong to believe that Tehran has won in the region," Geagea told L’Orient Le Jour daily.

"The Iranian axis is facing great pressures in the region, as proven by the repeated Israeli ~~Arclight~~ airstrikes on Iran and its allies in Syria, and to which Iran did not react," he explained.

Geagea then turned his attention to Hezbollah, who he heavily criticized during his short interview.

"As to Hezbollah, this party has been present in Leb for 30 years and its militia had not been legalized; on the contrary, discussions today focus on the means to dissolve its military units. So, how can we say that Hezbollah is the master of the game on the Lebanese scene?" Geagea continued.

He added that Hezbollah would not be able to take over Leb due to the country’s particularity.
