Ford Adding 500 American Jobs to Chicago Manufacturing Plants
[Breitbart] Ford Motor Company is planning to add about 500 additional American jobs to its manufacturing plants in the Chicago metro area, executives have announced.
The multinational automaker is expected to invest about $1 billion in its Chicago, Illinois, manufacturing plants, a move that will result in 500 additional jobs at its facilities, CNBC notes:

The move will add 500 jobs at Ford’s Chicago-area Assembly and Stamping plants, bringing the total number of employees at the two factories to 5,800, the company said Thursday. Ford is building a new body shop and paint shop at the assembly plants and plans to make major changes to the final assembly area. The company also plans to install some new manufacturing technology, including 3D-printing tools and robots.

#1 Meanwhile, Generic Motors closes US plants and announces plans to make huge investments in Chinese auto production. Obviously there will be no massive financial subsidies under the current government. Cheap Chinese labor is the only remaining option.

#2 ...btw, thanks for the bailout suckers! (do I need to put a /sarc on that?)

IIRC - Ford didn't take any bailout money, made a commercial about that, got threatened by Obean's WH to take it down.

#3 GM remains in 'circling the drain' mode, mostly because their overall line structure is untenable. They've got Corvette and Cadillac, and they've got Chevy trucks. And lots of other stuff nobody has any enthusiasm for.
And that's about it.

#4 Our company's fleet switched from GM to Ford around 2008 as I recall.
