Ft Lauderdale shooter 'visited jihadi chat rooms and practiced at the gun range months before murderous rampage'

Esteban Santiago talked to jihadists on 'the deep web', a court heard Tuesday

Prosecutors said he admitted it to FBI after first saying he was mind controlled

He had also been practicing at an Alaska gun range before shooting, they said

Santiago was in a detainment hearing; he is being held in solitary, without bail

His arraignment is scheduled for January 30; he is currently on suicide watch

#4 Found my bags in a escorted terminal warehouse search. Items spatially ordered by control type(checked, carryon, abandoned) and cross indexed by size, color and composition(hard, soft, wheeled(2-4), shipping container, exotic(baby (stroller, carseat, crutch, walker, laptop, phone, purse). Even items clearly tagged with names, addresses and flight information were held for passenger pickup, to get a video record of the physical release I suppose. Everything had a 'where found' grid reference tag. I'm assuming that was a NTSB crash protocol.

Laptop and phone release required visual inspection and video record of successful startup and password access.
