And, just to put a bow on the thing, I had thought the Circassians in Israel were Christians, Grom, but clearly I was wrong. I have a lovely recipe for Circassian chicken with walnuts and lots of garlic, eaten as a spread with bread — a gift from a Turkish woman I knew in Frankfurt. I suspect the recipe predates Islam.
