#6 If Biden retires, the replacement VP is likely to be a House Dem. The person has to be approved by vote of the House. That is the process as I remember it for Ford and Rockefeller, but I was young. In other words, no Newsom, AOC, Michelle Obama, Pelosi, or Schiff are likely. McCarthy makes some dumb deals. I don’t think he would do any deal that dumb. I think the GOP could also leave the position open to freak out the Dems. If Gaetz was Speaker, he would try to put Trump into the VP slot. I don’t think he could do that.
