I am not only Jewish, but my Jewish mother and all her family survived the Holocaust — not a thing that happened to distant relatives or co-religionists we left behind, a Muh Peepul thingie, but actual stories my mother told us kids about her entire childhood before she arrived in America days before her 21st birthday. Followed by editing my mother’s translation of her mother’s memoir of the war years while they were in hiding in Amsterdam, and visiting some of the surviving relatives and my mother’s rescuers when Mr. Wife's career took us to Germany and afterward.

My Jewish father, who was born in Riga and left for the British Mandate in Palestine when he was fifteen, did not tell stories. On the other hand, as far as we can tell, none of his Latvian and Russian relatives survived the combination of Nazi Jew hatred and Soviet Jew hatred. Because the Russians also have a long history of abusing and killing Jews, and Stalin and Hitler started out best buddies — while they were dividing Poland between themselves, the Russian socialist empire commonly called the Soviet Union, was gleefully conquering as much of Eastern Europe as they could swallow, and killing off the local Jews because they were intellectuals, capitalists, and kulaks.

Bottom lines:

1) I DO NOT NEED ANY FUCKING WHITE KNIGHTS TO TELL ME HOW TO FEEL ABOUT EITHER THE UKRAINIANS OR THE RUSSIANS — UNLESS YOU HAVE PERSONALLY EXPERIENCED ATTEMPTED GENOCIDE, IN WHICH CASE YOU ARE NOT A RUSSIAN THROWING SHADE ON UKRAINIANS.

2) I THINK THE LIMERICK IS FUCKING HILARIOUS. ME — THE JEWISH CHILD OF A HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR AND A COMMUNIST ESCAPEE. ANYONE WHO DOES NOT THINK THE LIMERICK IS FUCKING HILARIOUS IS A WITLESS KILLJOY WHOSE OPINION IS WORTHLESS ON ANY AND ALL SUBJECTS AND SHOULD SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN.

3) All shrieking posts about either Nazi Ukrainians or evil Russians will be herewith spamcopped because they add nothing useful to the discussion.

3.5) Anyone who complains about escaped Twitter censors will also be spamcopped.

They included examples of how the Ukrainian fascist hee-killers were so barbarous that Ukraine’s Jews actually turned for support to the Germans.
