#3 MM You are doing a good job trying to learn "code", and your subject matter is "unique". Sugarloaf was a good band in its day, a hat tip for you on that one. I have remained with your chosen group, but have changed your "artistic subject matter" to "Ladies of the Day". ;-) Delightful.

#4 One of the mods did the embed

‘Twas I. And very proud to have climbed this far up the learning curve, too, thanks to coaching from a few of Rantburg’s skilled denizens. :-)

To embed a YouTube video:

Go to the video’s YouTube page. Starting from here, you get there by clicking on the article headline.

Immediately below the video you’ll see an up thumb, a down thumb, and then an arrow swooping left labelled Share.

Clicking on the arrow will yield a pop-up window whose first icon is labelled Embed.

Click on the circle over Embed to get a new pop up window that contains a block of code, below which in the very bottom right corner is written COPY.

Click on Copy, and suddenly in the bottom left corner of the main screen you will be informed that Link copied to clipboard.

Now you can paste the block of code containing the link in an article post or a comment.

Anyone practicing this skill is welcome to paste your attempts over in the O Club until you have mastered it, as chat room comments are not archived, and I do not believe posts there will slow Rantburg’s loading time.

Embedding a tweet is a similar exercise.

If you encounter the tweet outside of the Twitter environment — for example, in an article — click on the little blue bird in the top right corner of the thing to open a tab in Twitter.

In Twitter, click on the three grey dots in the top right corner of your desired tweet, which will give you a little pop up window offering you /> Embed Tweet
Embed Tweet to get a new tab that should automatically scroll down to a square with a line of HTML in it, labelled Copy Code.

Click on that, and you’ll get s pop up with a check on a green background and the exclamation Copied!.

Once again, paste the block of code in an article post or comment.

And again, my dears, please practice in the O Club rather than here.

#5 TW, thank you for the tutorial. I have pasted it into a document where I keep HTML snippets and tips. I used to write a lot of dBase II / III but that was a long time ago and does nothing to make my 60+ year old brain understand HTML, but I learn where I can.
