#4 I mean how can we justify that?

Because you want a civilization not anarchy. Wait till you become another Mogadishu.

#5 We have in my city had a few deaths when police have engaged in hot pursuit. Cars driving much too fast, too much tension and too recklessly.

#6  I’d rather we put better emphasis on our investigative techniques," she told reporters.

So, you want to investigate them but not catch them, that right? Figure that's the way to protect your income stream with no risk from not doing your job?

#7 At what speed will Atlanta cops longer chase felons? A brisk walk or do both feet have to be off the ground at the same time? Asking for a friend.

#8 Don't chase, just send a little .30 - .45 calibre friend.

#9 Next comes the re-definition of 'flee'. Does the scu, uh, alleged perp have to run? Isn't that in and of itself stereotyping? Does rapid walking or a modest stroll qualify? How about waiting for public transport? Certainly that would indicate intent to relocate and after all you can't simply conjure a bus. Good idea all around.

#10 Flee = moving in any direction that takes the alleged away from the site of the alleged cri- infringement. Includes walking, scootering, crawling, riding in a rickshaw, sliding down a hill on a cafeteria tray, etc

#13 What's the old saying? "Which is faster, radio waves or police cars?" Seems like training in closing a noose would be the way to go.

#18 #2 That was my initial reaction. But if that were really the situation, why would the street smart criminals bother to run in the first place?

Upon reflection, Erica's stated justification seems more of an excuse than the real reason. Upon which we can only speculate.

#20 Reapers with Hellfires could solve the issue quite nicely. Honestly, any criminal convicted more than 3 times for felonies should be culled. N2 works, or H2S if you feel mean. Or 12 Gauge. Or a sledgehammer.
