#3 ....beyond 2025 ..... beyond 2030.... beyond 2100 ... and the place will still be a 10th century shit-hole - such that all of the blood and treasure that we have poured (and will continue to pour) into the place is COMPLETELY in vain. Truly a fool's errand. There is a well-established historical REASON that Afghanistan is known as the "graveyard of empires" - and you would think that our leaders would "get a clue", but - alas - we keep doing the same thing year after year, decade after decade, and then expecting a DIFFERENT outcome. The memes about "the definition of insanity" can just about write themselves.
