#1 ...Hold it:

...The federal judge also called on the American Civil Liberties Union to file papers on Thursday, suggesting remedies if the government had not reunified the 63 children by Tuesday "or within immediate proximity of today."

Let me see if I have this straight: the JUDGE is telling the ACLU, "Oh, go ahead and file more motions," with the implication being that he'll happily approve them?

Aw, hell no. You don't work for the ACLU, Your Honor. Get off the bench now - you've compromised yourself and your job to the point where you are no longer impartial.

Mike

PS - This is the sort of thing Justice Clarence Thomas spoke of in a recent opinion, where he asked HOW individual judges in the District and Circuit courts have gotten the idea that they can tie up and dictate policy. It sure as hell ain't in the Constitution, and up until the early 60s was unusual at best. You want yet another reason the Left is terrified of Justice-Designate Kavanaugh? If SCOTUS comes down and says that this sort of thing stops, the Dems are finished.

Don't worry, they'll find something else.

#3 Insty's saying about the MSM being Dem operatives with by-lines needs a partner about judges being Dem operatives in black robes.

This is a case of Judge, lamp post, rope - some assembly required.

#4 If we had a proper function in the checks and balances of government, said judge would receive notice of a closed door meeting with the Speaker of the House to discuss 'Bad Behavior' as in the assumption of dictatorial powers. Not to mention the practice of law in which examples of people are made to discourage undesirable behavior by others.

#5 The Congress also gets some say in what sort of cases federal courts can mess with - and what sort of cases they cannot touch. This has rarely if ever been done, but AFAICT is allowed for in the constitution.
