#1 It appears command and general staff school now uses Bernard Montgomery as preferred reading instead of George Patton or Helmut Von Moltke.

20,000 troops to root out a 2,000 man insurgent group with no air force or logistics support? Montgomery would be proud of the prudence.

I believe he would still be "turning at Caen" if Ike had not stepped in.
