#1 Time to put away the Christmas decorations

All eleven WWII Carbine manufactures and all four Garand manufacturers are represented. Threw in a 1917 Colt and a 1941 Colt as stocking stuffers.

#9 Yes, thanks Bad
Discouraging news.

So I get home last night and my wife says, "Did you hear what happened in Kansas City?!" Well, no, so she explains it while I'm looking up the article.

Armed robbery in a Shawnee strip mall...half dozen shot...store owner dead..nice neighborhood...just horrible. Good to see you too dear. Story on local news - guns guns guns...Oh great.

Now, the rest of the story

Four would be robbers come up with a heist. Nice store, woman clientelle, first thing in the morning, and armed. That is a lot of bonuses to the initial initiative of getting the first move. It is not a very large store, looking at the storefront, so I would venture that four robbers would be necessary to rob the whole store - not just grab the register.

I mention it is a women's store. It is - a firearm and self defense store with an emphasis on the woman's perspective. Two robbers receive gunshot wounds and placed in critical condition. A third robber was found on a nearby house porch wounded. The fourth was arrested with the third. One customer received light wounds, co-owner wife received injuries though unclear how last I heard. The sixth was the husband, last reported critically injured and later pronounced dead.

#11 Oh, name of the store: She's a Pistol

Link via iotw suggests that it was the wife, not a customer, who did the shooting...after being punched in the face.

Could be the plan all along was to shoot the husband and rough up the wife until no longer needed; likely kill her then.

Its looking like three robbers and a get-away driver. Interesting to know what kind of vehicle they were using.

#13 Story solidified my wife's question of whether to carry at work. Too many parallels. We have been stalked and scouted; no good times there.

Likely opponent would be young male, athletic, on hard drugs. Ambush between vehicle and store, then robbery, then caught shoplifting gone wrong,

She wants to get a 1911, because she's teh awesome, but maybe a bit too much for 8 hour shifts and an unlikely event. A CC size would be more practical but slidebite sux (I don't think she is interested in a revolver). Maybe OSs suggestion of Glock 23 (.40). And training.
