#2 The impact will be felt as many tourists are engaged in Biblical or Historical tours of the region, not just Israel.

#4 This is a two-edged sword for the Obama administration.

One the one hand they're meting out economic punishment to Israel. OTOH they're officially acknowledging that Hamas warfare presents a vital strategic threat to Israel that Israel must eliminate asap and at all cost.

Ben Gurion Airport did play a role in Operation Nickel Grass.
Israel just cannot allow an interdiction of air traffic.
