#2 Egyptian media quoted a security source as saying early reports suggested that Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, a jihadist group linked to al-Qaeda, fired the rocket that hit the market place.

Not Gazans, AlanC, but Egyptians -- Ansar Beit al Maqdis is also known round here as Al Qaeda in the Sinai. They may very well have been supplied by Gaza, though.

They did refuse to take it back after the Yom Kippur War, though they did most graciously accept most of the Sinai for signing that peace treaty.
