#7 So does this mean the F-35 will be able to do close support from 30,000 feet? Because they won't let it get any closer than that. Nice 35mm (or whatever) canon it has there. With lots of ammo, too.

#8 The Army Aviation branch would gladly take the existing aircraft and I suspect even the Marines might want them. CAS is a key component of the modern battlespace and this again proves why fighter pilots make poor senior commanders as a rule.

#9 Move the land based and sub based missiles to a new Strategic Command along with Space Command, revert the rest of the Dept to the Army Air Corps. Otherwise, slice the A-10s, the personnel, the budget and facilities to the Army. Cancel the next generation attack helicopter. No need to do fundamentally duplicate missions.
