#1 Helicopters? Fixed wing flying low on approach to landing? A great deal left unsaid including why they were there.

#2 Where is the threat to our national security?

Two days ago Samantha Power announced the U.S. will provide $100 million to help the French military bring African peacekeepers to the country and another $15 million in humanitarian aid.
Good thing they figured out that Sequester thingy.

#3 Much more info on the Fox News website. Two Osprey AC on a mission to evacuate American citizens. Hit on approach, wounded on two AC.

Here's a link: http://tinyurl.com/mch87ku

Little detail on who the evacuees may have been but they are still there on the ground as the Ospreys aborted the evacuation.

#6 Where is the threat to our national security?

It was an evac mission for "US citizens". No clarification on who the citizens are. Not sure if it is a national security threat. Then again, the administration didn't consider Benghazi a "threat to our national security" either.

#8  Apparently one shouldn't fly the Osprey into a small arms shitstorm...

Or at least not without appropriately armed escort and ROE to defend themselves.

#9 At the request of the Department of State, the United States Africa Command, utilizing forces from Combined Joint Task Force -- Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA)

Intel reports? Mission package?

Somebody at AFRICOM, JTF-HOA, f**ked up. Big-time.
