#1 I can imagine it would be hard to get lunatics, psychopaths, fanatics, zealots, true believers, jihadists, reactionaries, sunnis, shias, awalites, and the rational to agree on much of anything except maybe a location for the next spittle flying argument.

I bet when Assad leaves it will be very nasty in Syria for a while...I suppose Vlad the Impaler is counting on that.

Maybe that is the Soviet end game, allow the mess to get so bad, they can step into the breach and everyone will be glad they did?
