Similar thing happened to Mao in China when learning from the USSR how to make the Nuke, but of course our US Universities saved them with Student VISA's.

I don't know, the Iranian-Russian thing seems more on the level of national interest than personal politics. The Russians have an interest in screwing over the rest of the world via their Iranian cats-paw.

That's a bit more accurate, considering that senior IRGC officers own a significantly larger part of the Iranian economy than the mullahs.
