#1 Gen McChrystal argues that growing Indian political and economic influence in Afghanistan is likely to exacerbate regional tensions, and accuses both Pakistans intelligence agency, the ISI, and Iran of helping the Taliban. His view would appear to be that Pakistan and Iran can counter Indias growing influence in Afghanistan only by assisting those Afghans who are not favourably inclined towards India, and this potpourri is making his job difficult.

Why does it sound so familiar?

The Great Game for the 21st century has Russia teamed with India. British Agents from the 19th century must be turning in their graves.

Otherwise, 'liberating' Pakistan occupied Kashmir gives India a land route to Afghanistan and all of central Asia and blocks China's access to the Ghan.

The reasons the Great Game was played haven't changed that much over the last 100+ years, just different players.
