#1 The Indians evaluated the S300 systems. There are rumors that at least one battery was bought (to protect the BARC nuclear complex in Mumbai against air-strikes).

It is telling that India hasn't bought any more (if they even bought any at all) of the units.
They don't seem too impressed by them.

Or by the S400s that the Russians were offering...

They were more interested in the Patriot and Arrow systems. They're now working on their own anti-missile systems.

India has a lot of Russian air defence equipment that they're replacing with Indian, Israeli and French equipment but tellingly, not Russian.

#2 ION, IRAN-DAILY > CHINA'S FUEL OIL RESERVES for strategic contingency e.g. war [Taiwan]. Artikle -interesting in that it indics NORTH KOREA lost its [fuels]ability to attack South Korea long ago.

#3 Perhaps the Russians are just hoping to test out various technologies on various losers around the world before they put together a serious system.

Perhaps they're bunding up big toilet paper tubes with duct tape and selling them to the bad guys. Free money, basically. And they don't have to pump any oil to get it.

#4 I bet it would work about as well as the Tor-M1 too.

#5 usually when you have old Russian equipment you wouldn't want too replace it with new russian equipment because the old was shit. Just think of the up keep cost on this type of weapon system that is junk. And, what altitude does the stealth bombers ly in at?

#6 And that was the Tor-M1 against Israelis F15s and F16s, not - so far as we know - against stealthier aircraft.

#7 In any case, and as an aside, the israelis sure must have a serious and pressing issue to deal with that syrian site, to decide it was still worthwile to bomb it, even if it showed the iranians their air defense system meant crap to their airforce.

#8 "The Indians evaluated the S300 systems. There are rumors that at least one battery was bought..."

Wonder if the 'one only' system was later shipped to some un-named country for evaluation; perhaps the destination was 'Dreamland????'
Just askin..
