#4 Here's a suggestion. Most civilized nations hold elections with multiple candidates. You know, at least for the important posts. It isn't as if "head of state" is a who-cares job like "Register of Wills", where nobody really minds if the same little old lady who's been doing the job for sixty years is on both parties' ticket as the sole candidate.

Although now that I think about it, that kind of describes Elizabeth II's situation, doesn't it?
