#1 Is it just me or is this whole Islamist thing like watching one of those movies where a caveman unfreezes and wakes up in the 21st Century. These people are so backward. They haven't advanced past the 7th centurcy with the exception of importing western technology. Will it take thousands of years for them to catch up or just one or two generations?

#4 Something about that phrasing seems a bit odd: 'problems of "public chastity"' This is the land of "temporary marriages," so maybe it isn't a typo.
