The claim that Banglahesh was founded on the basis of a liberal cultural heritage is quite an overstatement. Within a few years of its founding there were already atrocities on a massive scale. In 1971 the govt conspired with jihadist groups to intensify the atrocities (against non mainstream moslems and especially non moslems).
