#1 I think Reid is bringing this up now because the California fires has the media's COMPLETE attention. Ram it through while everyones head is turned the other way.

#2 Talk about the camel's nose under the tent. When all these "children" become citizens, guess what? The rest of their families are in line, too! This backdoor bullsh*t has got to stop.

#3 If there aren't 41 Republicans who will vote against this travesty, then a pox on both their houses.

#4 We'll see who's paying attention to the 'immigration' issue and who isn't. The Donks act short term with a divide and conquer strategy leveraging what they think is the 'Hispanic' vote. We'll see if the Trunks are desperate or if they have picked up on the radar that in the end this is an issue that makes 'Americans' mad enough to actually vote. When they're mad and vote, it's not healthy to be an incumbent.

#5 I sent this to Opie Grahamnesty:

The American people strongly objected to the amnesty provisions of the McCain-Kennedy Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill, and the senate reluctantly complied with the voter's wishes. Contrary to many statements made by our elected officials, wanting people who enter the USA to comply with our laws does not make one a bigot.

I see the Dream Act as a stealth attempt to pass amnesty a piece at a time. Please vote against cloture for the Dream Act.

Regularization of illegal aliens can be discussed only after we control the border and stop the flood of illegal border crossers. No comprehensive bills. No amnesties. The government must earn my trust.

#6 "...without it ever having been debated in committee."

If there was any question that this is just another attempt at stealth amnesty and not "for the children"...there's the proof. Reid didn't have the votes in committee. And the good news is it's unlikely he will have enough votes on the floor. Even vulnerable Pubs up for re-election can cast a nay vote based on procedure and not take a political hit. Of course, that will depend on if they have a spine or not.

#7 Dead for now. Didn't make cloture. Failed badly. Wait until the spring or after there is a known Dhimmi nominee. Keep it in front of you though. You never know when someone will try to pull a fast one.

#8 In the politician's haste to create more voters via
the legalization of millions who are here illegally,
our infrastructure is already crumbling under the
strain that is being placed on it by the masses that
have come here from Central America already.

Atlanta is almost out of water, bridges are collapsing
(and that is just before we started allowing Mexico's
trucks open access to all US highways recently), power
and other energy supplies for much of America will not
be able to keep up with demand in a very short amount
of time.

The illogical mindset of these "progressives" cannot
see that their prohibitions against expansion of
nuclear and coal plants, drilling for more energy in
preserves, public hospital and school overcrowding,
etc, etc, is pushing America towards basic
infrastructure collapse on a colossal scale.

We are no longer building America for our next
generation. We are giving America away before leaving next generation with massive problems for them to endure when their time comes. It is an absolute shame and the next generation will look back at us and hate us for what we did to them.

#9 Amnesty will keep coming back time and again. Socialists are, if nothing else, relentless in their pursuit of power.
