#2 Erdogan just might.

This all goes back to the 19th C and Turkey as the 'Sick man of Europe'.

Ataturk's 80 years of secularism may just prove to be an interlude in the Long Game.

#3 Yep. This could kick off all the old feuds from centuries ago from the Caucasus to North Africa, even including Greece via Cyprus.

What happens if war breaks out between two NATO members?

#8 An important note is that the ethnic Turkish birthrate has dropped "below replacement", European style, but the Kurdish birthrate is still high, at 3-6 children per family.

This means that while right now, about 70-75% of the population are Turkish, and only 18% are Kurds, in a few generations they will be much closer to parity.
