Art degrees have never really been a great path to employment, and the term 'starving artist' comes to mind. Van Gogh died penniless as did many other very accomplished artists who became famous only after their deaths.

Although that's 'history' and probably not taught anymore.

Of course those folks are actually learning a viable means of supporting themselves and could pay off any student loans themselves without 'help'.
