[Daily Caller] Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham both said Sunday in appearances on "Meet The Press" that they didn’t know there are 1,000 troops in Niger.
News broke recently of four American special operators dying in an ambush in the African nation. Details of their mission are scant, and the Pentagon, while investigating, has been slow to release information.

And I can almost guarantee neither the "1000 troops" or the SOB in charge of the 1000 troops knew a damn thing about an SF A-Team meeting with locals, or the potential need for a quick reaction force (QRF) or overhead persistent surveillance.
Unity of Command, Area of Operation situational awareness? Who needs it? We're SPECIAL. Big Green Army, you wouldn't understand.
I refer to it as 'Wars Within Wars'....seen it time and time again. Thank you Goldwater-Nichols Act (Separate budget and funding line item from Big Army for SOF), thank you Klingon masters.
#2
That's what happened in Mogadishu. The snatch and grab commander avoided the tenets of Goldwater-Nichols Act and put himself under the UN command structure rather than the US military structure. Thus the US forces were not in readiness posture to respond.
#3
Running SOF operations out of the office US Embassy Chief of Station (COS) is a cock-up waiting to happen. How many Mog's and Benghazi's do we need ?
#4
Sadly, most Americans feel no pain and really don't care if we have 1000 SOF troops in a place like Niger. Most folks couldn't even find the place on a map. It only becomes an issue when the MSM decides to claim that Trump was not duly sympathetic to one of the widows. MSM doesn't give a rat's ass about the widow or the 996 brave soldiers who are still there and they won't even bother to ask why. They just want to use the widow as a club to bash Trump. Extremely cynical of them.
I still think we need to pay more attention to the WOT in Europe and America than in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Soddy Arabia and Niger. We don't need to send our troops there if those people can't come here. It'd help if we could get certain Hawaiian judges on board with that concept. Maybe they think they're immune from bombs going off at concerts and shopping malls.

[IsraelTimes] Five projectiles were fired early Saturday; four landed relatively deep inside Israeli territory; Syria protests to the UN after Israel responds
Israel believes five rockets fired across the border from Syria early Saturday morning may have been deliberately launched at Israel, rather than constituting errant spillover from festivities in Syria, military sources said late Saturday.
Israel fired back into Syria, hitting three rocket launchers, in response to the rocket fire, and warned that further fire would prompt a more intensive response.

[American Spectator] An article in the Guardian last week provides more confirmation that John Brennan was the American progenitor of political espionage aimed at defeating Donald Trump. One side did collude with foreign powers to tip the election ‐ Hillary’s. And in a face saving, 'just in time move' the intelligence services of perfidious Albion throw their villainous Yank partners under the red bus.
Seeking to retain his position as CIA director under Hillary, Brennan teamed up with British spies and Estonian spies to cripple Trump’s candidacy. He used their phony intelligence as a pretext for a multi-agency investigation into Trump, which led the FBI to probe a computer server connected to Trump Tower and gave cover to Susan Rice, among other Hillary supporters, to spy on Trump and his people. I recommend the Trump 2020 re-election campaign recruit the services of Platte River Networks and the Awan Bros. Existing Agency contracts could save time and money. Clandestine remote servers really are the future.
John Brennan’s CIA operated like a branch office of the Hillary campaign, leaking out mentions of this bogus investigation to the press in the hopes of inflicting maximum political damage on Trump. An official in the intelligence community tells TAS that Brennan’s retinue of political radicals didn’t even bother to hide their activism, decorating offices with "Hillary for president cups" and other campaign paraphernalia.
A supporter of the American Communist Party at the height of the Cold War, Brennan brought into the CIA a raft of subversives and gave them plum positions from which to gather and leak political espionage on Trump. He bastardized standards so that these left-wing activists could burrow in and take career positions. Under the patina of that phony professionalism, they could then present their politicized judgments as "non-partisan." "Burrowing" and "bastardizing" have long been agency mainstays. After all, it is Washington.
The Guardian story is written in a style designed to flatter its sources (they are cast as high-minded whistleblowers), but the upshot of it is devastating for them, nonetheless, and explains why all the criminal leaks against Trump first originated in the British press. According to the story, Brennan got his anti-Trump tips primarily from British spies but also Estonian spies and others. The story confirms that the seed of the espionage into Trump was planted by Estonia. The BBC’s Paul Wood reported last year that the intelligence agency of an unnamed Baltic State had tipped Brennan off in April 2016 to a conversation purporting to show that the Kremlin was funneling cash into the Trump campaign. I'd wager the "funneling" was actually to the Clinton Foundation and the reporting mysteriously morphed.
Any other CIA director would have disregarded such a flaky tip, recognizing that Estonia was eager to see Trump lose (its officials had bought into Hillary’s propaganda that Trump was going to pull out of NATO and leave Baltic countries exposed to Putin). But Brennan opportunistically seized on it, as he later that summer seized on the half-baked intelligence of British spy agencies (also full of officials who wanted to see Trump lose). So now we're blaming Estonian spies? Could Fijian Kava brewers be next. Where will it end ?
It really wasn't that difficult to figure out now was it? How many former directors and deputy directors bashing Trump must one hear from to draw reasoned conclusions ?
Can we now have the Comey, Lynch, Mueller, Clapper, and Rosenstein pieces ?
[TheHill] Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) is calling for an apology from White House chief of staff John Kelly for "character assassination." Gotta have character to assassinate it....
"Not only does he owe me an apology, but he owes an apology to the American people," Wilson said during an appearance Sunday on MSNBC's "AM Joy," according to The Washington Post. How about, "I'm sorry for pointing out you are such a worthless, sorry, piece of shit"
She also referred to Kelly as a "puppet of the president."
The Florida Democrat called the deaths of four U.S. soldiers in Niger a "catastrophe."
"We had four soldiers who died. They have been buried," she said. "And we need to know why, and we need to know about the special circumstances surrounding [U.S. Army Sgt.] La David Johnson."
The comments come amid an ongoing feud between Wilson and President Trump.
Wilson last week said she overheard a conversation between Trump and Johnson's widow. During that call, Wilson said Trump told the widow that Johnson "knew what he was getting into."
Trump denied the claim and has since taken to Twitter to blast the Democratic lawmaker as "wacky" and the "gift that keeps on giving" for the GOP.
#11
Why was Wilson scheduled to eaves drop on the call without Trump's knowledge? What financial promises were made for Wilson to be allowed to eaves drop? It was a planned smear by working together to try to collaborate a premiditated lie.
#14
She overheard the conversation because she was informed of Trumps call. This was all staged. She was given the heads up as well as the media to do a hit piece on Trump. The president doesn't make a phone call unless the person is there to receive his call.

[Institute for the Study of War] EXECUTIVE SUMMARY - The United States will continue to risk its vital strategic interests in the Middle East unless it changes its policies in Syria and Iraq. President Donald Trump and his administration inherited a weakened U.S. position, with Russia imposing constraints on American freedom of action and options. The Trump administration has taken initial steps to advance U.S. prestige in the region by reassuring America’s traditional allies and acting more firmly against its enemies and adversaries. The tactical tasks of recapturing Mosul and liberating Raqqa from the Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham (ISIS) are complete and nearly complete, respectively. Nevertheless, its efforts to define and execute policies that secure America’s vital interests are moving more slowly than those of America’s enemies, adversaries, and spoilers who are more agile than the U.S. These actors include Russia, Iran and its proxies, Turkey, ISIS, al Qaeda, and some Kurdish elements, who are pursuing goals that threaten American objectives and are exploiting the current situation to make strategic gains as the U.S. champions short-term gains and tactical success.
The Trump administration has not yet broken with its predecessor’s approach to the Middle East, particularly in Syria and Iraq. It has prioritized conducting counterterrorism operations against ISIS to recapture ISIS’s territory. American military forces have accelerated this campaign by relying on the most readily available local forces, including Kurdish forces in northern Syria that are aligned with terrorists targeting Turkey. The administration has eschewed a U.S. role in addressing the regional war’s underlying drivers, including the role of the Bashar al Assad regime in Syria and sectarianism in Iraq stoked by Iran. The main effort of the counter-ISIS fight must become preventing the organization from reconstituting and its rivals from inheriting its leadership of the Iraqi and global jihad. ISIS re-emerged from a defeated al Qaeda in Iraq and controlled Iraqi cities only three years after American troops departed in 2011.
The Trump administration has also acquiesced to an expanding Russian and Iranian ground campaign in Syria and a growing role for Iran inside Iraq. Its diplomatic efforts to end the wars have focused on the most expedient political outcomes shaped by dominant local and regional actors. It does not appear committed to shaping a long-term stabilization congruent with a wider set of American regional interests. The administration has expressed that it will confront and roll back Iran’s destabilizing campaign but has neither set the conditions for such a campaign nor undertaken sufficient policy action that will set conditions for such an outcome. A quite lengthy EXSUM. Full PDF available at the link.

Nevertheless, its efforts to define and execute policies that secure America’s vital interests
WHAT vital interests? We have zero vital interests in Syria. What the fuck? These globalist scum can't see outside their bubble. It was readily evident from the outset the only winners in the Syrian civil war were those who stayed out of it. And yet we were plunged into yet another stupid unwinnable war by our oh-so-educated elites.

Unfortunately we have new adversaries to contend with. Namely the EU with its commitment to the destruction of Israel.
Former President Jimmy Carter said in a new interview he wished NFL players who protest during the national anthem would find a "different way" to demonstrate rather than kneeling.
In an interview with the New York Times‘ Maureen Dowd, Carter sounded off on various topics, and the former Democratic president said he wanted to see players stand for the anthem.
"I think they ought to find a different way to object, to demonstrate. I would rather see all the players stand during the American anthem," Carter said.

My head spins. First George W. comes out of hibernation after 8 years to slam Trump, then Obama opens his pie hole to slam Trump, now Jimmah opens up and says the media is too hard on Trump. Jimmah might be trying to move up and out of "worst Potus" designation. Personally, I think Jimmah left Obama behind long ago from this title.

[Al Jazeera] Little more than one week after a massacre in Somalia killed more than 350 people in the capital, an attack near Mogadishu on Sunday has claimed the lives of at least 11 people, witnesses told Al Jazeera.
Several women were among those killed in Sunday's roadside kaboom that hit a minibus carrying passengers some 36km southeast of the coastal city.
The victims are said to be farmers.
Mohammed Hasan, who saw the blast, said he believed non-combatants were killed in error.
He saw a Somali military vehicle pass the scene of the kaboom.
"I saw charred bodies shortly after the blast. I think the target of the attack was the military soldiers," he told Al Jazeera.
The bus that was blown up had been heading to Balad town in Middle Shabelle region, according to Harun Osman, a local resident.

[PRESSTV] A court in Egypt has handed down death sentences to 11 people and life terms to more than a dozen others who are suspected of creating a "terrorist organization" and attempting to murder two coppers some three years ago.
Four of those sentenced to death on Sunday were tried in absentia by the Giza Criminal Court, which also sentenced 14 others to life in prison, which is 25 years in Egypt. The court also tried a juvenile in absentia and ruled that he must serve 10 years in jail.
All the defendants were accused of membership in a terror group, which is known to the Egyptian media as the Giza terrorist cell, and of taking part in "terrorist operations." The sentences can be appealed.
The case dates back to 2014 when the prosecution accused the suspected people of joining an illegal outfit, violating personal freedoms, being in possession of, and manufacturing, kaboom, and attempted killing of two coppers, as well as destroying a police vehicle.
The defendants’ "criminal" activities followed the July 2013 ouster of the country's first democratically-elected president, Mohammed Morsi, in a military coup led by then head of the armed forces and current President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
The controversial ouster sparked many protests by supporters of Morsi, including a pair that were held at al-Nahda Square and Rabaa al-Adawiya Square in the capital Cairo on August 13, 2013, which led to the killing of more than 700 demonstrators by police.
The Egyptian government has been cracking down on the opposition since the military coup. Rights groups say the army’s crackdown on the supporters of Morsi has led to the deaths of over 1,400 people and arrest of 22,000 others, including some 200 people who have been sentenced to death in mass trials.

[DetroitNews] An assistant Sanilac County prosecutor at the center of a controversial child custody case involving a sexual assault victim and her convicted rapist has been fired, the prosecutor's office said Friday.
“Sanilac County Prosecuting Attorney James V. Young has terminated assistant prosecutor Eric G. Scott as of October 18, 2017," said a statement released by Young's office. “This action is the result of the prosecutor’s review of the office policy, procedures and legal review of Mr. Scott’s handling of the paternity case involving Christopher Mirasolo.”
Scott, who had been employed by the office since 2003, could not be reached for comment.
The statement was issued a day after the state court administrator’s office said Scott "no longer has a relationship with the prosecutor's office."
“… I met with Eric Scott almost two weeks ago, and he saw nothing wrong with submitting this (consent) form without my client’s consent or signature,” the rape victim’s attorney, Rebecca Kiessling, said Thursday. “He saw nothing wrong with awarding joint legal custody and parenting time to a two-time convicted child molester.”
Last month, Judge Gregory Ross granted Mirasolo, 27, of Brown City partial custody of a child conceived during his sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in 2008.
The ruling sparked a firestorm of criticism and brought international attention to this rural county of just over 40,000 people along Lake Huron in Michigan’s Thumb region. On Tuesday, Ross rescinded his decision.
He and Young both pledged to review procedures to prevent a similar situation from occurring again.
A filiation form – which ordered support, parenting time and joint legal custody of the 8-year-old boy – was signed by Ross, Young, the Friend of the Court and twice by Mirasolo. But all overlooked it had never been signed by his victim in the September 2008 assault, the child’s mother, now 21.
Ross said Tuesday he was never advised the boy’s mother had been raped or that Mirasolo had been convicted in connection with her of sexual assault.
“I believe, given the way this consent order was presented, I should have been advised the defendant raped the plaintiff,” the judge said. “Mr. Young advised he is reviewing his procedures. He is doing what he can to correct the mistake and see that it doesn’t happen again.”
Young has said the state Department of Health and Human Services did not pass along information about the victim’s pregnancy or Mirasolo’s conviction. Ross said he relies on the prosecutor’s office for such information before ruling on custody matters.
A DHHS spokesman said last week that matters involving parental rights are made by local officials, not the state.
[Al Jazeera] Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga says he will not recognise a win by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday's scheduled election rerun, as a political crisis gripping the East African country shows no sign of ending.
Odinga pulled out of the race earlier this month after claiming opposition demands to overhaul the country's election body had not been met.
"As far as we are concerned, this is not an election," Odinga told the Nation newspaper on Sunday.
He also ruled out contesting the outcome of the vote in court, in line with his party's position that the upcoming vote will not be credible.
"It is not a legal matter, but a political one which must be dealt with as such," said Odinga, calling the prospect of challenging the result "a waste of time".

I think I can think of the perfect compromise choice...and he even comes with security.
[Daily Excelsior] A myrmidon was killed in an encounter with security forces in Handwara area of North Kashmire’s Kupwara district while two persons including a woman were killed by gunnies in South Kashmire today.
Acting on a specfic information regarding presence of three gunnies including top Lashkar-e-Taiba ...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI... commander Abu Maaz in Hajin area of Kralgund in Handwara, Army’s 9 Para and SOG Handwara launched a cordon-and-search operation at around 5 am today.
The gunnies hiding in the area opened fire on the troops, triggering an encounter. A Pak myrmidon was killed and his identity is being ascertained.
The two other gunnies including Abu Maaz managed to escape but security forces have launched a massive operation against the two myrmidons. However, a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package... no contact was established with them so far.
A woman was killed and another injured as gunnies fired on them at Seer village of Tral this morning in South Kashmire’s Pulwama district.
Militants barged inside a house in Seer Jagir, Tral and fired at the women present there. Among them, 18-year old girl identified as Yasmeena daughter of Ghulam Rasool Bhat, resident of Khonmoh was killed and another Rubeena wife of Mohammad Shafi Wagay, resident of Seer Jagir, Tral was injured. She was shifted to SDH Tral where from she was referred to SMHS hospital for further treatment.
Security forces immediately reached the spot and massive searches were launched against the assailants.
And gunnies this evening rubbed out a street vendor Shakir Ahmad, resident of Uttar Pradesh in Arwani area of South Kashmire’s Anantnag district.
Meanwhile, ...back at the Council of Boskone, Kinnison began his slow infiltration of the sewer system... Pakistain violated ceasefire in Kamalkote sector of Uri in Baramulla district of North Kashmire for second consecutive day today. Pak troops fired on Army posts in the sector this morning.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A new deadly infighting has erupted among the Taliban ...Arabic for students... faceless myrmidons in western Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... province of Afghanistan, leaving nearly 50 people dead.
According to the local officials in Herat, the latest festivities took place between the supporters of Taliban supreme Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzada and dissident Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Rasool.
Provincial governor’s front man Jilani Farhad confirmed the latest festivities have left around 40 dead from both the sides.
He said faceless myrmidons under the command of Mullah Samad loyal to Mullah Hebatullah and Mullah Nangialai who is loyal to Mullah Rasool, clashed in Khaifan area of Shindand district.
The anti-government armed turban groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
Clashes between the supporters of Mullah Hebatullah and Mulllah Rasool have not been rare but numerous such incidents have taken place in the past well.
Mullah Rasool is a dissident Taliban leader who has been leading his own faction of the Taliban after the death of the group’s founder and former supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar.
The supporters of Mullah Rasool have also clashed with the supporters of Mullah Akhtar Mansoor, the predecessor of Mullah Hebatullah.

this also supports the theory that if we left Afghanistan and it fell to the Taliban, they would spend most of their time killing each other and with ISIS vs Taliban killing
ideally, it would be good, imo, to divide Afghanistan into a non islamic state and an islamic state but, of course, the islamic state would want to slaughter the folks in the other state so that would be a problem

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Four Islamic State militants were killed in aerial shelling on borders between Diyala and Salahuddin provinces, a member from Diyala provincial council said on Sunday.
“Four IS militants were killed as an airstrike targeted a rest house at the outskirts of Mutaibija, on borders between Diyala and Salahuddin,” Abdel Khaleq al-Azzawi told AlSumaria News on Sunday.
“The shelling was carried out depending on accurate information provided by the Tribal Mobilization Forces,” Azzawi said. “The presence of IS in Mutaibija is clear and needs a military operation to eliminate it.”
Occasional attacks have been witnessed in Mutaibija by Islamic State against government and paramilitary troops deployments since Iraqi forces, backed by a U.S.-led coalition and PMUs, launched a major offensive to retake areas occupied by IS since 2014.

[PRESSTV] A senior Russian diplomat has criticized certain countries’ calls for the expansion of the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency’s inspections to include Iranian military sites, saying the IAEA has no authority to carry out such inspection.
"I would like to say absolutely clear and directly that acquiring some false topicality [about] the theme of the IAEA work on Section T of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA) over the Iran nuclear program has no topicality for us although it is a talking point now," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told TASS on Saturday.
Section T of the JCPOA bans any development activity by Iran on nuclear weapons technology and restricts dual-use items that could be used to research warhead design. Iran has repeatedly said that it does not possess or seek nuclear arms.
The high-ranking Russian diplomat said IAEA could not be tasked with carrying out inspections of Iran’s military sites, "because Section T highlights the issues of the agency’s competence."
However, the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits... he added that some P5+1 parties prefer to "call black white and vice versa...We cannot get them to understand this evident logic and obvious truth."
"Since they are insisting, we say if you cannot do without discussions on the theme, it should be raised at the [Iran-P5+1] Joint Commission when the next session is convened," Ryabkov noted.
The Russian deputy foreign minister expressed his country’s readiness to discuss the issue with other signatories to the JCPOA and announce Moscow’s stance.

[Defense One] BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. ‐ The U.S. Air Force is preparing to put nuclear-armed bombers back on 24-hour ready alert, a status not seen since the Cold War ended in 1991.
That means the long-dormant concrete pads at the ends of this base’s 11,000-foot runway ‐ dubbed the "Christmas tree" for their angular markings ‐ could once again find several B-52s parked on them, laden with nuclear weapons and set to take off at a moment’s notice.
"This is yet one more step in ensuring that we’re prepared," Gen. David Goldfein, Air Force chief of staff, said in an interview during his six-day tour of Barksdale and other U.S. Air Force bases that support the nuclear mission. "I look at it more as not planning for any specific event, but more for the reality of the global situation we find ourselves in and how we ensure we’re prepared going forward."
Goldfein and other senior defense officials stressed that the alert order had not been given, but that preparations were under way in anticipation that it might come. That decision would be made by Gen. John Hyten, the commander of U.S. Strategic Command, or Gen. Lori Robinson, the head of U.S. Northern Command. STRATCOM is in charge of the military’s nuclear forces and NORTHCOM is in charge of defending North America.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Russian Air Force carried out an imperative operation that targeted Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s military base in the eastern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

Army Col. Romeo Brawner said troops were aiming to end the crisis before midnight Sunday. He said the remaining button men, who include some Indonesian and Malaysian fighters, have the option of surrendering, or they can either be captured or killed.
"Our government forces will try to do everything to finish the firefight today," Brawner said in a news conference in Marawi. He said the battle area centered in a two-story building near Lake Lanao where the firefight continued to rage at noon.
"It's either they all get killed, because they're determined to die inside, or we capture them or they surrender," Brawner said.

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group-linked siege in southern Marawi city, US and Philippine officials said Saturday.
US Embassy spokeswoman Molly Koscina told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that DNA tests done in Virginia at the request of the Philippine military confirmed the death of Isnilon Hapilon. Washington has backed efforts by the Philippines, a treaty ally, to combat terrorism for years.
Hapilon and Omarkhayam Maute, another leader of the Marawi siege, were killed in a gunbattle Monday in a push by thousands of troops to retake the last pocket of the Islamic city held by the murderous Moslems, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said.
The Philippine military believes that Mahmud bin Ahmad, a top Malaysian murderous Moslem and close associate of Hapilon, had also been killed in the Marawi festivities, although his body has yet to be recovered by troops.
DNA tests were also being done on the remains of other suspects who have been recovered by troops, Lorenzana said without elaborating.
A rescued 16-year-old hostage provided the crucial information that allowed troops to locate Hapilon and Maute in one building in Marawi, Lorenzana said.
The US State Department has offered a reward of up to $5 million for Hapilon, who Washington blames for ransom kidnappings of several Americans, one of whom was beheaded in 2001 in southern Basilan ...Basilan is a rugged, jungle-covered island in the southern Philippines. Hapilon had been indicted in the District of Columbia for his alleged involvement in terrorist acts against US nationals and other foreigners.
A soft-spoken Islamic preacher born to a family of hard boyz on southern Basilan island, Hapilon had been linked to several major attacks in the southern Philippines, including kidnappings, bombings and attacks on urban centers.
Hapilon and Maute were among the leaders in a nearly five-month insurrection in the lakeside city that has left at least 1,127 people dead, including 915 hard boyz and 165 soldiers and police.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraqi Kurdistan’s main opposition party called Sunday for the autonomous region’s president to resign after Baghdad seized swathes of disputed territory from Kurdish forces in response to an independence vote.
Shoresh Haji of the Goran movement, which holds 24 out of 111 seats in the Iraqi Kurdistan parliament, said Massud Barzani and his deputy Kosrat Rasul should step down.
"The Kurdistan region’s president and his deputy no longer have any legitimacy and should resign," he said.
He called for the creation of a "national salvation government" to prepare for dialogue with Baghdad and organise new elections.
Iraqi Kurds on September 25 voted overwhelmingly for independence in a poll set in motion by longtime regional leader Barzani and strongly opposed by Baghdad.
Central government forces last week swept into the oil-rich Kirkuk province, restoring it and Kurdish-held parts of Nineveh and Diyala provinces to Baghdad’s control.
The rapid Kurdish retreat triggered recriminations among Kurdish politicians and prompted the regional parliament to postpone presidential and legislative polls set for November 1.
Goran on Sunday demanded the dissolution of a body set up after the referendum to "manage the consequences of the ballot".
Critics fear that Barzani, who chairs the body, could use it to retain power even after he leaves his post.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham launched a surprise attack near the Ottoman Turkish-Latakia border, Sunday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s positions near the town of Rabi’yah.
Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s attack proved successful in the beginning, as their forces were able to capture a few points in the Turkmen Mountains.
However, some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them... the al-Qaeda linked group’s success would be short-lived once Syrian Arab Army reinforcements arrived from nearby Rabi’yah this afternoon.
The Syrian Army reversed all of the jihadist gains and retaliated by firing several artillery shells towards the strategic town of Kabbani in the Kurdish Mountains.
According to a military source, the Syrian Army lost 7 soldiers during the jihadist attack, prompting their high command to file a grievance with the countries overlooking the de-escalation agreement.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] US-backed militias said they captured a major oil field in Deir al-Zor province on Sunday, pressing their offensive against ISIS fighters in eastern Syria.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said they gained control of al-Omar oil field, one of Syria’s largest, on the eastern bank of the Euphrates river.
With air strikes and special forces from the US-led coalition, the SDF has been battling ISIS in oil-rich Deir al-Zor, bordering Iraq. The SDF alliance of Kurdish and Arab militias has been focused on territory east of the river, which bisects the province.
The Syrian army, with Russian air power and Iran-backed militias, has been waging its own separate offensive against ISIS murderous Moslems, mostly to the west of the river.
The US-led coalition and the Russian military have been holding deconfliction meetings - to prevent festivities between planes and troops - though the offensives have sometimes come into conflict.
Al-Omar oil field lies some 10 km north of the town of al-Mayadin, which government forces and their allies took earlier this month.

[Dhaka Tribune] Visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said Myanmar must take back their nationals from Bangladesh and there should be a permanent solution to the crisis.
Sushma Swaraj said this referring to the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh when she met Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina ...Bangla dynastic politician and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She has been the President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She has once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia show such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums.. at the latter’s official residence Gonobhobon, reports UNB.
PM’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed news hounds after the meeting.
"Myanmar must take back their nationals ... this is a big burden for Bangladesh. How long will Bangladesh bear it? There should be a permanent solution to this crisis," Sushma was quoted as saying.
Ihsanul Karim said the Indian foreign minister called on the international community to contribute to social and economic development of Myanmar’s Rakhine state.
About terrorist acts in Rakhine, Sushma said turbans can be punished. "Why innocent people?"
Sushma appreciated Bangladesh’s stance for adopting a humanitarian attitude towards the forcibly displaced people of Myanmar.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told the Indian minister that Bangladesh had given shelter to the Rohingya on humanitarian ground.

This is what I need and want, but reality is like a fart in Church.
The Arakan Rohingya National Organisation has said, "Rohingyas have been living in Arakan from time immemorial," referring to the area now known as Rakhine.
But then it says:
During the more than 100 years of British rule (1824-1948), there was a significant amount of migration of labourers to what is now known as Myanmar from today's India and Bangladesh. Because the British administered Myanmar as a province of India, such migration was considered internal, according to Human Rights Watch (HRW).
The migration of labourers was viewed negatively by the majority of the native population.
After independence, the government viewed the migration that took place during British rule as "illegal, and it is on this basis that they refuse citizenship to the majority of Rohingya," HRW said in a 2000 report.
This has led many Buddhists to consider the Rohingya to be Bengali, rejecting the term Rohingya as a recent invention, created for political reasons.
So maybe India and Bangladesh are the "permanent solution". I would say Pakistan as well but that really would be cruel.

[PRESSTV] Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has declared that a recent attack on police forces outside Cairo has not dented his government’s resolve in fighting terrorism.
"Egypt will continue its confrontation against terrorism and those financing and standing behind it, with strength, decisiveness and efficiency, until it’s curbed," Sisi said during a special security meeting in Cairo on Sunday, a day after scores of police forces were killed in an ambush outside the capital.
Egypt is still in shock after the massive attack which began late Friday just 135 kilometers outside Cairo where police forces reportedly tried to raid a major terrorist hideout. Authorities said 16 coppers were killed in the ambush but security sources have put the corpse count on more than 50. The confusion surrounding the incident and how it unfolded has sparked widespread criticism among the public.
No group has grabbed credit for the high-profile attack. It is the latest to rock Egypt since the overthrow of the country’s first democratically-elected president Mohammed Morsi in 2013, a coup many say was orchestrated by Sisi, the then army chief.
A branch of ISIS, a Takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... group which is losing its foothold in the Middle East, has launched numerous attacks against security forces and civilians across Egypt and in the restive Sinai Peninsula over the past years. Recent ambush on police took place near Egypt’s western desert region, where bully boyz from neighboring Libya have carried out attacks in the past.

Residents buying their evening meal at a small restaurant were killed by the first female bomber late Sunday evening, local time, according to a military source quoted by AFP.
Two other bombers detonated their devices minutes later, leaving another 16 persons maimed, making the attacks the deadliest in over a month, according to police commissioner quoted by Rooters.
There were no immediate claims of responsibility.
Those accounts resemble an attack in August on a market near Maiduguri by assailants described as females.
AFP's report on Sunday's bombings said hours beforehand "a lot of Boko Haram members" had been sighted outside the city.
Maiduguri, the capital of Nigeria's Borno state, is sheltering hundreds of thousands displaced by eight years of attacks by Boko Haram.

[Al Jazeera] Shinzo Abe, Japan's prime minister, is headed for a big victory in snap elections, according to exit polls, after promising to toughen his stance on North Korea and revive the economy.
Abe's ruling coalition is on course to win between 280 and 336 seats in Sunday's vote, which easily surpasses a simple majority in the 465-seat lower house of parliament.
Abe looks set to become Japan's longest serving leader since the second world war, although he is hoping for a two-thirds "super majority" to push through his agenda, for which he needs at least 310 seats.
The victory marks a remarkable turnaround for the Japanese leader. Plagued by corruption scandals, Abe and his coalition party were on shaky ground just last month
But on election day, they were favourites to win re-election and an exit poll predicted the Liberal Democratic Party would secure a parliamentary majority.

According to the source, the SDF has not reached the al-’Omar Oil Fields, but announced they captured this imperative site in Deir Ezzor after the tribal fighters joined the Arab Liberation Council.
Furthermore, this latest move leaves the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in a difficult bind, as the US and Russia have an agreement to avoid hostilities between their forces in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
While it is not clear whether or not the Syrian Army will attack this site before the US-backed forces reach it, their high command is furious over this move because of the loss of future profits from these large oil fields.

(IS) group is fast losing the territory under its control, its ideological attraction is not subsiding at the same pace because the idea of a global ’Islamic caliphate’ still glows in the minds of many in Moslem societies.
It is ironic that a militant group has become the custodian of the national ideology.
Some leading Moslem scholars have made strenuous intellectual efforts to challenge myrmidon ideologies ‐ or myrmidons’ interpretations of Islamic precepts to justify their actions including violent ones ‐ but these efforts have largely failed to develop an alternative ideological narrative. That keeps the Moslem populace, mainly the youth, prone to being influenced by myrmidons’ narratives; the threat is far more complex in Pakistain where there exists a plethora of competing radical and violent ideologies, including in the form of rival sectarian streams.

Some leading Moslem scholars have made strenuous intellectual efforts to challenge myrmidon ideologies ‐ or myrmidons’ interpretations of Islamic precepts
The issue at base is really simple as has been said. There is no radical Islam there is only Islam.
It is the IS type groups that are practicing what Islam preaches.
Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior General Hussein Arab uncovered on Friday that his ministry seized large quantities of dangerous weapons in several southern Yemeni cities, adding that extremist terrorist groups had brought and hidden those arms in a number of residential units, which were later transformed into armed caches.
The interior minister did not say where those depots were specifically located and how many people were involved in the operation.
However, General Arab told Asharq Al-Awsat there were large quantities of seized weapons that could destroy vast areas.
He said the terrorists “set the target and the type of weapons that should be used… If the target is a vast area, they increase the explosives to produce the highest damages.”
The interior minister said that investigations revealed the presence of several dormant cells, directly supported by rebels in Sana’a with an aim to incite security imbalance and to disrupt the Yemeni community.
The Yemeni security apparatuses are ready to face those threats and would use all means to uncover the terrorists’ plots, he said.
The minister added that “employees at the Yemeni Interior Ministry launch their investigations based on available information… Accordingly, they conduct dawn raids after they verify that those given information confirm the presence of threatening weapons.”
The seizure of the arms depots comes few days after the Interior Ministry was capable to arrest several Qaeda-affiliated members and groups loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh. The ministry also uncovered their plans to target critical sites in areas previously liberated by the legitimate government.
Arab said the security apparatus in Yemen was coordinating with all concerned parties in neighboring countries to share information related to those terrorist groups.
In mid-August, the Yemeni Interior Ministry was capable to arrest terrorist groups that were directly financed by Tehran.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Russia on Sunday accused the US-led coalition in Syria of having flattened Raqqa with a Dresden-like bombing campaign and masking the destruction with a rush of humanitarian aid.
In a statement, the defense ministry said that Raqqa -- the capital of ISIS's self-proclaimed caliphate -- "inherited the fate of Dresden in 1945, razed to the ground by Anglo-American bombings."
US-backed Kurdish-led forces last week recaptured Raqqa, its last major stronghold in Syria.
US officials hailed the event, led by President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... who said "the end of the ISIS caliphate is in sight."
"The bravura statements by official representatives of the US administration about the 'outstanding victory' over ISIS in Raqqa prompt bafflement," the Russian ministry said.
The US is overplaying the strategic significance of the fall of Raqqa, it charged.
In reality, Raqqa is a "provincial city" that is much smaller than Deir Ezzor, where a Russian-backed Syrian regime operation is underway, the ministry said.
It accused Western countries of pumping aid into Raqqa to mask the degree of destruction inflicted on the city.
Moscow, it said, had previously received only refusals from the West to its requests for international humanitarian aid.
"There is only one (reason) -- the aim is to sweep away traces of barbaric bombings by US aviation and the 'coalition' that buried in Raqqa's ruins thousands of peaceful citizens 'liberated' from ISIS," the ministry claimed.
Russia has been operating a bombing campaign in Syria since 2015, when it stepped in to support Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Oppressor of the Syrians and the Lebs... 's rule and tipped the conflict in his favor. Human rights monitors say that the raids have resulted in many civilian casualties.

They also burned Columbia. The sentiment at the time was it was the birthplace of the Rebellion and they wanted it destroyed. Sherman didn't order it but he didn't object, either.

Sherman's march through Georgia left a 50 mile wide trail of burning and looting. The soldiers took anything they could carry including the heirloom Revolutionary War uniform of a plantation owner. It was his scorched earth policy. He said that if the Union had lost the war he expected to be tried as a war criminal. After the war he did a lot to help Southerners , probably more than anyone else.

[Breitbart] Michael Rapaport took aim at President Donald Trump in yet another profanity-laced video posted to his social media account Saturday, in which the actor called the president a "dumb f*ck" and a "f*cking dummy" for his views on climate change.
The 47-year-old actor apparently shot video of a Trump-branded ice skating rink that appeared to be melting.
Temperatures in some parts of New York City reportedly reached 78 degrees on Saturday.
"Deviant Donald Trump. There’s no global warming, right? Look at your ice skating rink, you f*cking dummy," Rapaport said in the video.
"It’s 80 degrees in October, but there’s no global warming," the actor continued. "F*ck you, f*ck your ice skating rink." I suspect that, like myself, Mr. Rapaport was a "Four-Blader."
You mean training skates?
Rapaport has been increasingly vocal of both Trump and members of his administration, including Vice President Mike Pence and senior adviser Jared Kushner.
In a video posted to his social media account this month, the actor called the Vice President a "selfish f*ck" for leaving an Indianapolis Colts game early when members of the opposing San Francisco 49ers knelt during the singing of the National Anthem.
"Vice president Mike White Pence left the Colts-’49ers game as soon as it started because he was so offended by the players’ kneeling and protesting. You selfish f‐k, you. You should have given those tickets to somebody who would have appreciated it, you f‐k."
In August, Rapaport criticized Kushner over the president’s response to a violent rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, telling him to "take the f*cking dreidel out of your ass." Looks to me like someone is looking for attention ($). Betcha his agent (or personal psychic) suggested to him he attack the easiest of contemporary targets and get a little news time.
Because Joo hatred is so fashionable on the left these days.
I live near a river. One road cuts through a backwater. When the water is high during a rainy season, the brush is green and the water clear.
But as the weather dries and the water level declines, the water looks marshy. Old tires re-appear.
Think about that as the waters drain in Washington.
This week's attack on President Trump by his predecessors is a sign of desperation.
Somebody called in his markers and got Bush to speak. He spent eight years in silence, unwilling to defend himself from Obama's bully pulpit bullying of all things Bush.
Now Dubya enters the arena again?
From the Washington Post:
George W. Bush has stayed out of the political fray for nine years now, and Barack Obama has kept his head down for the past nine months. On Thursday, both former presidents used major speeches to repudiate President Trump’s brand of politics and approach to the world.
Neither mentioned Trump by name. They didn’t need to. Instead, they preached patriotic sermons that appealed to America’s better angels.
Better angels.
You go first.
Denounce the fascist Antifa first.
But Antifa serves Washington well, just as Occupy Wall Street gave cover to the equities industry that Obama served.
Dubya would not defend himself. His father did not either. If you will not defend yourself, then why should I trust you to defend me?
They refuse to support President Trump because they are still sucking their wounds from his stomping of Low Energy Jeb.
Impolite?
Go back over what Bush 41 said about Bob Dole in 1988, or what Bush 43 said about John McCain in 2000.
Oh, and Jeb's son supported Trump. Sure. Jeb's son wants to be the third President George Bush, this time with a P.
Family honor.
Obama and Bush are just the swamp speaking.
From Politico:
Former President George W. Bush offered an unmistakable denunciation of Trumpism on Thursday without mentioning the president by name, urging citizens to oppose threats to American democracy.
“Bigotry seems emboldened. Our politics seems more vulnerable to conspiracy theories and outright fabrication,” Bush warned in remarks at the Bush Institute’s Spirit of Liberty event in New York.
By chance, Bush was standing in the same spot at the Time Warner Center where former President Barack Obama made a similar plea for democracy and American leadership in late September, shortly after President Donald Trump had finished a belligerent, isolationist speech to the United Nations General Assembly.
Bush has befriended the people who called him Hitler -- Bushitler -- and a monkey.
His father called Reaganomics "voodoo economics," but befriended the Clintons.
President Trump is saving America from these critters. I am saddened to see Bush stand up for the corruption and incompetence of Washington.
But he failed America, just as Obama did. He FAILED to line Memorial Bridge with the heads of the Intelligence services who were evidently asleep at the switch prior to 9/11.
If they want to know who divided the country, they may wish to look in the mirror.
President Trump is the result of their neglect of the American people. They served the elites. Trump serves the rest of us.

Yes, yes, yes, your 'low energy' brother lost the election along with a $43m USD. Please, will you now get over it and return to acting post-presidential.

George W Bush is my favorite president.
George W Bush was unfairly criticized by Democrats and the liberals over the war in Iraq in order to destroy his presidency
and to gain power at the cost of undermining the Iraq war especially after Obama took office and withdrew forces prematurely allowing things to rapidly fall apart into opposing factions in Iraq.
Neither President Trump nor Steve Bannon are wise enough to judge President Bush on the Iraq war and all the undermining in Iraq that has occurred since the two Obama terms.
So they should not blame President Bush for the results of the Iraq war.
President Obama made the mistake of blaming president Bush 43 for everything and thus was blinded into a foolish fix "premature withdraw of troops from Iraq",
the failure of which created ISIS and caused the Syrian crisis allowing Putin and Russia to go into the power vacuum created in the middle east,
and allowing Iran to go into Iraq and into Syria and undermine other places.
Then Obama added fuel to the fire of the Arab uprising by going into Libya and allowing the terrorists to take over there and allowing Egypt to be taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood.
Then Obama allowed Yemen to fall to terrorists and let the Taliban take over in Afghanistan.
Then Obama used the nuclear deal with Iran as an excuse to remove the trade sanctions from the Islamic terrorist nation and legitimize Iran as a future nuclear weapons and military regional power which will now promote a nuclear arms race.
Obama did not do a thing about North Korea, but instead attacked Israel our only anti-terrorist ally in the middle east.
President Bush did not blame others about Iraq, but bowed to the criticism of John McCain and ordered the troop surge in Iraq when most others thought Iraq was already lost for good.
I recommend Trump, his advisors and supporters not judge Bush or blame everything on the "swamp" or make other excuses, but carefully consider their own actions, judgments and words.
If you hate Bush, you are not wise and are more like the Democrat haters.
I am personally offended by attacks on Bush from both sides, the liberals and the nationalists, or anti-establishment or whatever the me crowd is using at the time.
The opposite of hatred is humility.
This web site, our leaders and this country needs more humility and less pride.
The proverb is "pride comes before the fall".
Right now I am sensing a lot of pride, which means the fall is not far off.
Bush was proud when he went into Iraq.
But Iraq made him humble.
What kind of tragedy will it take to humble you?

President Bush is responsible for the unnecessary deaths of thousands of young American soldiers in Iraq. Period. There is no one else to "blame." Those soldiers are lost forever...and their blood is on his hands alone.
A heavy raid into Iraq, removal of Saddam, and subsequent withdrawal leaving a heavy Coalition corps in the South was the plan...a plan that played to our strengths...and would've left a deterrent in place...not disbanding the Iraqi army and a bloody occupation.
Bush's result...first ISIS...now a Shia crescent that extends from Yemen, through Iran, through a Shia dominated Iraq and into Syria.
I sense Bush not taking responsibility for his failures is what I sense...and not using the good sense to shut his mouth...he is prideful for thinking we want to hear any more of his stupidness. He just needs to go away. We've already suffered our tragedy at the hands of 'W'

I wanted to believe that Bush was doing the right thing in Iraq. I wanted to believe that he knew what he was doing. But the facts are now pretty clear. He screwed up. As bad as Saddam was, who can say that Iraq is better off now? It's a mess. You wanna blame Baraq for withdrawing our troops? Bush should have known that was a possibility. He should have known better than to leave his successors with that kind of a burden. Democracy will not work there or anywhere else in the Arab world. The best we can do is leave them to their own devices and keep them out of our country.

I basically agree with all the criticism but I also think that it comes back to his inability to call out the Islamic problem.
Turkey knifing us in the back didn't help but I think the right approach was to kick the shit out of them taking out Saddam in the process then leaving with the "Don't make us come back!"
message. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

I'm sure Hollywood has a bigger problem with starlets seducing big-wigs hoping to get a job. I'm not sure that qualifies as sexual harassment but allowing yourself to be so seduced must be against various labor laws. At what point (if any) does that sort of stuff start pouring out as well?
[OpsLens] If you follow my writing, you’ve probably noticed that there’s been an uptick in the amount of words I spend on speaking out against ever-softening police leadership around the country these days. It’s funny how many leaders within our profession respond to unfair criticisms pulled out of la-la land by apologizing as a gag-reflex, but then expect the public to respect police authority when it comes time for us to take away their personal freedoms under the color of law.
They say you should never back an animal into a corner lest you suffer the wrath of their survival instincts ‐ but many police leaders in 2017 have me wondering if they have a survival instinct to protect the thin blue line, or merely themselves. Through leadership’s failure to exhibit any fight or pushback in the face of damming criticism and handcuffing expectations, the American police officer isn’t really being backed into a corner so much as he/she is being backed to the edge of a cliff. Here are some examples of how our chiefs are leading us to the bottom in 2017.
Cities across California are paying violent gang members in their communities up to a thousand bucks per month to stay out of jail while partnering with a group who promises to not cooperate with police homicide investigations.
We’re seeing Seattle cops no longer allowed to designate those accused of crimes in their cities as "suspects". They’re forced to report them as "community members" instead because armed robbery suspects get to have safe spaces too.
Portland PD’s top cops have proudly tossed the baby out with the bath water in nixing their gang member database because there aren’t enough white gang members. Sadly, much more to be read.
[Express] A CHINESE academic with close links to officials inside the country's defence establishment has revealed that China is prepared to "go to war" with North Korea.
In a shocking bombshell interview, an academic with close ties to the Chinese government has warned war with North Korea was on the table.
Chong Sho-Hu, who is a professor of international relations at the Renmin University, in Beijing, said North Korea was "seeking death".
He also confirmed the long-lasting era of Chinese friendship with North Korea has ended.
Despite historic ties between the two countries, president Xi Jinping has reportedly become "fed up" with the erratic behaviour of the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un.
Speaking to the BBC, the professor warned that one more missile test would be the move "to push the country off the cliff".
President Jinping was said to be "boiling with fury"™ after North Korea recently tested a missile just as China was gearing up to host a pivotal global economic conference.
The former US ambassador to China Max Baucus recently claimed the only time he saw the Chinese leader use "undiplomatic language" was in relation to Kim Jong-Un.
Professor Sho-Hu, who has ties to China's defence and foreign affairs establishment, suggested that the time may have come for a military solution to the problem.
He said: "The Chinese government is mad, China’s top leader is mad. China wants to punish North Korea.
"China once had special relations with the Soviet Union but they had war with that country.
"They also had a very special relationship with Vietnam but then they had a war with them in 1979
"The relationship between China and North Korea is worse than both of those.
"I will say, there are no permanent friends and no permanent enemies."
The professor added: "North Korea is in an awkward situation. No country has ever encountered such tough sanctions before.
"If they do nothing, they will starve to death. If they do another ICBM test, they will seek to die.
"North Korea is standing on the edge of a deep cliff, one light blow could push this country of the cliff."
When asked whether this meant one more missile test could trigger war, the professor agreed.
This week the China's leader Xi Jinping outlined his plans to make China the most powerful nation in the world.
In a three and a half hour speech at the Chinese Communist Party Congress, he said he would build the biggest army in the world, but wanted to avoid a conflict with US President Donald Trump over North Korea.
But, speaking of the People's Liberation Army, he said: "A military is built to fight."
He told delegates: "By 2050 China will become a global leader in terms of comprehensive national strength and international influence with the rule of law, innovative companies, a clean environment, an expanding middle class, adequate public transportation and reduced disparities between urban and rural areas.
"Chinese people will enjoy greater happiness and well-being, and the Chinese nation will stand taller and firmer in the world.
"China is approaching the centre of the world stage."
A cyber security expert told Express.co.uk China could strike the US by pretending to be North Korea.
Matt Morris, vice president of NexDefense, said hackers knew the digital footprints of other states and were mimicking them to use as a decoy.
CIA chief Mike Pompeo said on Thursday that North Korea could be only "months" away from gaining the ability to hit the United States with nuclear weapons.
US President Donald Trump is expected to try and pressure the Chinese president when they meet next month.
The White House want China to do more to rein in North Korea, following the president's consolidation of power at the Communist Party Congress.

Can't have successful (South) Koreans sitting on their border behind which millions of ethnic Koreans remain under Beijing's thumb. The longer they delay in fixing the problem in Pyongyang, the more likely the situation becomes.

And the question is, assuming this has official backing, is it actual intentions, or is it published for effect? Why would China tell NK that they're going to attack?

[PRESSTV] More than two dozen members of ISISTakfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed... terrorist group have been killed when Iraqi Air Force fighter jets bombarded their positions in the country’s troubled western province of Anbar near the border with Syria.
The media bureau of the Iraqi Defense Ministry announced in a statement on Sunday that 25 ISISforces of Evil were killed as Iraqi military aircraft launched precision strikes in the desert region of the province, English-language online newspaper Iraqi News reported.
The statement added that 13 vehicles used by the Takfiris were also destroyed in the aerial assaults.
On October 10, 17 ISISforces of Evil were killed as Iraqi warplanes pounded a bad boy convoy travelling along a road linking the small town of Akashat to the bad boy-held town of al-Qa'im, located nearly 400 kilometers northwest of the capital Baghdad.
Brigadier General Saleh Ali said at the time that the Arclight airstrikes also destroyed a number of ISIS arms depots and vehicles in the surrounding areas.
On October 5, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said Iraqi armed forces had liberated Hawijah, driving ISIS Takfiris out of their last bastion in the oil-rich northern province of Kirkuk.
Abadi said on August 31 that the northwestern city of Tal Afar, located 200 kilometers northwest of Kirkuk, ... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time... and the entire Nineveh province had been purged of ISIS Takfiri terrorist group.
The recapture of Tal Afar was made possible with the help of the Iraqi army, Federal Police, Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) units, fighters from Popular Mobilization units ‐ commonly known by their Arabic name, Hashd al-Sha’abi - and the Interior Ministry's elite rapid response forces, the Iraqi prime minister stated.
ISISDeath Eaters are now only in control of al-Qa’im and Rawah, in Iraq. Both towns lie on the Euphrates River, and are situated in Anbar province.
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi Interior Ministry, along with air force, carried out military operations targeting eight of the Islamic State’s locations in western Anbar, killing many militants there.
A statement by the ministry’s Eagles Cell on Sunday said military operations were carried out targeting eight IS locations in Qaim, west of Anbar, along with the air force.
“Tens of IS leaders were killed, including abu Qaswarah, the emir of the security detachments, abu Suraqah, deputy chief of the so-called Baghdad State, Abu Azzam al-Ferensy, in charge of Tareq bin Ziyad brigade, and Abu Ibrahim, in charge of the immigrants,” the statement said.
The airstrikes, according to the statement, “destroyed four rest houses, a weapon stash and booby-trapping workshop.”
Earlier on the day, the Defense Ministry’s War Media Cell said 25 IS militants were killed in western Anbar desert during search operations carried out near the Syrian borders.
