ABC Cancels Roseanne Barr's Show After She Insults ValJar On Twitter
And naturally, all media outlets are reporting the offending tweet as... wait for it...
[Hollywood Reporter] - ABC, in a stunning move, has decided to cancel its Roseanne revival following star Roseanne Barr's racist tweet Tuesday.

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said Tuesday.

Early Tuesday, star, head writer and exec producer Barr attacked Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, in a since-deleted tweet in which she said "Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj." Barr subsequently apologized: "I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me ‐ my joke was in bad taste."
Truth not being a defense in this situation.
Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger also weighed in on the decision to cancel Roseanne: "There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing," he tweeted.
And the harpies on The View, who have been insulting President Trump on a daily basis for well over a year and a half, continue to be gainfully employed by this same ABC network.

Britain
"Tommy this, an' Tommy that ...an' Tommy go away"
h/t Instapundit
But, just before I came on (about 15 minutes in), Rowan and Ross addressed recent events in the United Kingdom and in particular the fate of, er, someone whose name they weren't permitted to mention but who, um, had been gaoled for, er, something or other... This was somewhat astonishing to me, as I'd assumed empire-wide D-notices had lapsed with the passage of the Statute of Westminster. But mein hosts circled back, cautiously, to the topic toward the end of my interview - and I observed, as I have before, how in almost the entirety of the western world, whenever anyone draws attention to some of the more problematic aspects of Islam, the state cracks down not on the problematic aspects, but on the guy who draws attention thereto. In Britain and Europe, we are an incident or two away from literally "shooting the messenger".

Rowan, Ross and I all knew we were referring to a gentleman by the name of Tommy Robinson. I expect many of you know that, too. But I doubt most Australian viewers had much of a clue about it, and I'm pretty certain the overwhelming majority of his fellow Englishmen are unaware of his fate. As readers may recall, I have met Mr Robinson just once, at an event at the European Parliament in Brussels. He is an engaging, charismatic fellow, albeit a bit rough-hewn for the refined sensibilities of the metropolitan media - although I thought he had the better of a rather somnolent Jeremy Paxman in this BBC interview.

Liege 'terror' attack: Three people shot dead including two cops by gunman 'shouting Allahu Akbar'
[Mirror] A "radicalised" gunman who killed two police officers and a passer-by during a suspected terror attack in Belgium shouted "Allahu Akbar" as he carried out the massacre.
"We'll probably never kmow his...nevermind"
The attacker stole an officer's firearm during a routine check and then used the weapon against police before he took a woman hostage at a school in Liege.

The 30-year-old Belgian man, named as Benjamin Hermans, was then shot dead by anti-terrorist officers, bringing an end to the rampage. He launched the attack just one day after he was released from prison, with local reports claiming he was "radicalised" behind bars.

Belgian authorities said the incident is being treated as terrorism.

[See if they beat Chicago]Ramadan Rage: Islamic Terrorists Kill at Least 203, Wound 322 in First 10 Days
[Breitbart] Jihadists have killed more than 200 people and injured an excess of 300 others so far during Ramadan, the holiest month for Muslims, according to a Breitbart News tally.

In the first ten days of the holy month, which started on May 17 for most Muslims across the world, the number of casualties reached at least 525 (203 deaths, 322 injuries).

Islamic terrorists killed about 20 people and injured another 30 each day on average since the beginning of Ramadan. At least 52 attacks have taken place so far during the holy month.

Many jihadists believe it is exceptionally heroic and Allah especially rewards “martyrdom” during the sacred month.

Jihadist groups and other Islamists are known to urge their members and supporters to engage in jihad on Ramadan.

Nevertheless, the majority of Muslims solely abide by Ramadan’s fasting tradition: abstaining from eating, drinking, smoking, having sex, and other physical needs each day, starting from before the break of dawn until sunset.

So far this year, the Afghan Taliban appears to be the deadliest group, followed by the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL), which still poses a threat in the wake of the devastating loss it suffered in Iraq and Syria at the hands of the U.S.-led coalition and local forces.

ISIS was the most prolific terrorist group last year, when Ramadan casualties reached 3,343 (1639 deaths, 1704 injuries), marking the bloodiest Muslim holy month in recent history.

Breitbart News primarily gleans its tally from the Religion of Peace website in coordination with news and government reports.

Given that news outlets and governments fail to report many of the terrorist attacks in real time, the casualty total for the first ten days is subject to change.

Government officials may update some of the casualty totals as some of the injured victims succumb to their injuries, which may also prompt a change in the count after Breitbart News publishes this report.
A list of the attacks thus far can be seen at the link.

Britain
The real reason Tommy Robinson was jailed
[AnonymousConservative] They had said the reason Tommy Robinson was hauled in was that he couldn’t be allowed to talk about the grooming trials, because they wanted to be sure the defendants got a fair trial, and media publicity might impede that objective.

Then I saw this graphic on 4Chan:

Why, why might that be?

Two local councillors, one of whom is still serving, and a police officer have been accused of having sex with victims involved in the Rotherham child abuse scandal.

The South Yorkshire Police constable at the centre of the allegations is also alleged to have passed on information to gangs grooming young girls in the town. A second police officer has been accused of neglecting his duties after failing to report his colleague. Both claims are being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

The complaints against the two Rotherham councillors “are understood to have been sent to the National Crime Agency, which is investigating child-sex crimes in the town,” according to The Times, which helped expose the abuse in Rotherham and published confidential documents that pointed towards police and council knowledge of the abuse in 2012.

The way Britain is going, the investigators at the National Crime Agency will investigate the complaints by bringing in the victims and molesting them themselves, before declaring everyone involved innocent. Because all of this stuff seems to go right to the top:

I hate to say it, but Beige Shiba was right:

The easiest people to blackmail are pedophiles…

As a result, if you take a look at any given parliamentarian or high ranking public servant, there’s a better than even chance of them being a pedophile. Such people are sought out by the relevant intelligence services and offered a deal…

They do what they’re told and given a supply of children to abuse in an environment controlled and monitored by their blackmailers.

The supply of young victims to sexually service men in power doesn’t come from nowhere. There’s a lot of logistics involved in grooming and transporting these children and making sure that nobody involved talks about it.

That’s where these grooming gangs come in. They are one of the chief means of supplying this system of oligarchical control through sexual trafficking of children…

The key things to understand is that this is fundamentally about power, control and blackmail and just how high (indeed existential) the stakes are. The racial angle is mostly a convenient and distracting red herring, although far from irrelevant.

Tommy Robinson has unwittingly stumbled into something much more serious than just the courts going soft on a bunch of racial minorities. He’s coming dangerously close to blowing the lid off the real power structure in the UK.

Report: Syria bans Iran from using its hangars after Israeli strikes
A wise decision for a country with limited oil revenues and already-horrendous post-war expenses.
[IsraelTimes] Highly irregular decision follows meeting between Assad and Putin in Russia, according to Zaman Al Wasl news site, citing 'well-informed' source

The Syrian air force has forbidden Iranian forces and their allied Shiite militias from using its aircraft hangars and other facilities on its military bases, in light of repeated Israeli attacks, a Syrian news outlet reported on Sunday.

According to Zaman al-Wasl, an investigative news site generally seen as supportive of the Syrian opposition, the head of the Syrian air force, Maj. Gen. Ahmad Balloul, ordered that the country’s air bases be restricted to Syrian troops alone. The decision was made sometime in the past two weeks, though the report did not specify when.

Iraqi parliament cancels expat votes for recent elections
[PRESSTV] Iraqi's parliament has predominantly canceled expats' and internally displaced people's votes in the parliamentary elections.

On Monday the Iraqi parliament also called for a manual recount of 10 percent of the general votes over fraud allegations.

The parliament also called for members of the country's election commission to resign.

On Friday, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi ordered the creation of a high-powered commission to look into the alleged irregularities in the parliamentary elections.

An official statement said a recent cabinet meeting chaired by the premier had named the Iraqi anti-graft chief as the head of the commission.

The statement further suggested that hackers may have manipulated the election results.

There have been complaints about irregularities at some polling stations linked to a new electronic voting system in Iraq.

Iraq's parliamentary elections were held on May 12.

Russian spec ops begin testing in new snow vehicle
Progeny of the Aerosan
[DefenseBlog] Russia’s Special Forces University (SFU), which is based in Gudermes, Chechnya, has announced that the new Chaborz M-3 multipurpose buggy in Arctic version take part in testing at the Franz Josef Land archipelago between the Arctic Ocean and the Barents Sea.

The latest version of Chaborz M-3 multipurpose buggy has caterpillars on the rear axle, a pair of skis instead of the front wheels. According to the developers, the vehicle has a low center of gravity and it is very stable.

The testing on Franz Josef Land archipelago took place in March this year. They were conducted jointly with special units of the National Guard of Russia. Participants landed on a snow-covered Arctic archipelago, after which they began to work out a scenario to search for and destroy a group of bandits as part of tactical drills.

The bases version of the Chaborz M-3 is a lightweight off-road vehicle 4×2 designed for operation by special forces units in off-road conditions.

The vehicle is driven by a 1.6-liter 98-hp engine, coupled to mechanical transmission with synchronizer, which can accelerate it on road to a speed of 130 km/h.

A crew is 3 people. Two people sit at the front, one behind them backface. In the rear part there is a pod for 30-mm automatic grenade launcher or 7.62-mm machine gun. The front crew member, located to the right of the driver, can use an 7.62-мм pintle mounted machine gun.

Taliban decides to relocate heroin labs amid relentless airstrikes
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
group leadership has decided to relocate the drugs and heroin labs amid relentless Arclight airstrikes targeting the main financial streamline of the group.

The group has reportedly decided to relocate the labs to mountains and valleys amid fears that the airstrikes would result to civilian casualties.

The latest decision by the group to prevent civilian deaths follows the growing criticisms that the group faces due to civilian deaths as the majority of the civilian deaths are attributed to the operations of the group.

Taliban’s shadow governor for Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
Mullah Manan has reportedly ordered his secretary to act and relocate the labs from the towns and residential areas to mountains and valleys.

In a walkie-talkie conversation with his secretary shared on a Taliban WhatsApp group, the Taliban’s shadow governor of Helmand, Mullah Manan, said "due to one factory hundreds of the public are at risk from bombings and missiles" and called for facilities to shift to "mountains and valley sides" instead, according to The Guardian.

The Taliban group has so far not reacted regarding the report but the US commander in Afghanistan Gen. John Nicholson had earlier warned that the air campaign against the main financial resources of the group would continue.

Taliban assassinate tribal elder who had crafted bravery medal for Trump
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Talibs have assassinated a tribal elder in central Pashtun-infested Logar province of Afghanistan who had crafted a bravery medal out of gold for the US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
front man Zabiullah Mujahid claimed that the elder Gul Nabi was kille in a bomb kaboom in Pashtun-infested Logar province.

Mujahid further added that Gul Nabi had crafted a medal for the US leader and had handed it over to the US Embassy in Kabul.

The handmade medal was prepared with a total cost of $645 with the contribution of the participants of an informal Jirga in which around 300 people had participated.

Syed Farhad Akbari, a community leader in the province, on January 14 told RFE/RL’s Afghan Service that more than 300 people at an informal "jirga," or council, of concerned citizens agreed to award the medal to the U.S. president.

He said the handwritten message on the award states: "This Bravery Medal is from the Afghan people to Donald Trump, president of the United States of America."

Akbari said the cost of the medal was about 45,000 Afghanis ($645), considered a large sum for many in the region, about 60 kilometers outside of the capital, Kabul.

Trump lacks the intelligence required for 'collusion' with Russia: Snowden
[PRESSTV] US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
lacks the level of intelligence that is required for "collusion" with Russia, says former US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden, noting that the ongoing Russian investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller won’t produce the results that Democrats hope for.

"I think people are asking for too much when they hope that the Mueller investigation is going to come up with kind of a smoking gun," Snowden told The Intercept. "You know that’s not how the world works, life is not that simple."

The former National Security Agency contractor said it was too "complicated" a process for a "wreckintg ball" like the Republican president to establish ties with Russia on such sensitive issues.

"And to be honest, everyone who has heard Trump speak for three minutes knows he’s a wrecking ball," Snowden said. "This does not sound like the kind of person that you would want to engage in some kind of complicated Manchurian Candidate ... the guy can’t even remember what he was going to say at the end of a sentence."

US, UK protest as Syria takes chair of world disarmament body
[AlAhram] The United States led protests Monday as Syria took over the rotating presidency of the Conference on Disarmament (CD) at a time when Damascus is widely accused of using chemical weapons.

"Monday, May 28 will be one of the darkest days in the history of the Conference on Disarmament with Syria beginning its four-week presidency," tweeted US ambassador to the CD Robert Wood.

The CD chair rotates alphabetically every four weeks and Syria's turn came round on Monday, although the conference will meet in full session only from Tuesday.

"The Damascus regime has neither the credibility nor moral authority to preside over the CD.

"The international community must not be silent," Wood wrote.

"A regime that has used CW (chemical weapons) against its own people has no place presiding over the CD's work."
Britannia also protested against the move.

"The UK deplores the fact that Syria will assume the presidency of the Conference on Disarmament, given the regime's consistent and flagrant disregard of international non-proliferation and disarmament norms and agreements," British ambassador Matthew Rowland said in a statement.

But he pointed out that all CD members including Syria had to agree to change the rotating system.

The document allegedly refers to the deliberate bombings carried out by the U.S. Coalition against Islamic State

(ISIS) targets in both Iraq and Syria.

In addition to the targets, the document also provided legal justifications for killing the three Canadian ISIS members in the region.

‘Armed men’ force KWSB officials to supply water to cantonment areas, says KWSB chief
[DAWN] Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Managing Director Khalid Sheikh on Monday alleged that "certain state departments" force the KWSB officials to supply extra water to "cantonment areas by taking the staff hostage at gunpoint".

During a hearing of the Supreme Court-mandated water commission headed by retired Justice Amir Hani Moslem, Sheikh said, "The hydrant at Shah Faisal Colony is shut down in order to supply extra water to Pakistain Air Force (PAF) base".

He claimed that the pumping station at Karsaz is operated in a similar manner.

The KWSB MD told the water commission that on Sunday a few gunnies, reportedly belonging to a state department, forced the KWSB staff to shut down the Shah Faisal Colony hydrant. His claim was seconded by pumping station's in charge Khalid Farooqi, who said that the gunnies "shut down the hydrant, cursed and beat him".

Farooqi also claimed that he was kidnapped by the gunnies who "took him on a drive" and later released him.

Syrian Army attempts to force Turkish troops out of Latakia
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish military entered the northern countryside of the Latakia Governorate this past weekend, prompting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to take an aggressive approach to force them to leave.

What started as sporadic shelling has since moved to intense rocket fire from both the Syrian Arab Army and Ottoman Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) in the Jabal al-Akrad region.

According to a military source in Latakia, the Syrian Army has been firing missiles and artillery shells towards the mountaintop where the Ottoman Turkish military took up their positions at this past weekend.

The source added that the Syrian Army is attempting to force the Ottoman Turkish military to leave the province, as this is a clear violation of the Astana agreement, which only permits Ankara to establish twelve observation points.

While an observation point has yet to be established, the Ottoman Turkish Army’s presence is considered a move halt the Syrian Army from advancing at another front in northern Syria.

#6  suicidal thoughts and actions are a serious problem in the trans community

As I recall, there is no significant difference between the rates of anxiety, depression, and attempted/completed suicide among those in the trans community who have gone through the surgery and hormones and those who remain comoletely as nature made them. And, as Dr. Paul McHugh of Johns Hopkins Medical School wrote a few years ago, after having studied the issue for forty years,

Ten to fifteen years after surgical reassignment, the suicide rate of those who had undergone sex-reassignment surgery rose to twenty times that of comparable peers.

Russia denies reports on interception of Israeli F-16 jet with Russian Su-34 in Lebanon
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Russian Defense Ministry has denied reports on an alleged interception of an Israeli F-16 fighter jet by a Russian Su-34 aircraft, stating that the country’s aircraft do not conduct missions in Lebanese airspace.

"The information spread by one of the Israeli news outlets about an alleged ’interception’ of two Israeli F-16s by a Russian Su-34 in Lebanese airspace is amateur nonsense," the Russian Defense Ministry stated.

The ministry specified that "the Su-34 multirole bombers, which belong to the Russian air group in Syria, are not used for flights to intercept aerial targets and do not perform tasks in the airspace of Leb."

The comment follows reports earlier in the day in Israeli, Lebanese and Russian media outlets, claiming that the two Israeli Air Force jets had been challenged by a Sukhoi Su-34 bomber over Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
and forced away.

The presence of the Israeli aircraft in Lebanese airspace was reportedly connected with reconnaissance missions. At the same time, the media explained the actions of the Russian bomber as being a part of drills, reportedly taking place off the coast of Leb and Syria. The media claimed that the Russian bomber was forced to land due to bad weather conditions.

A Lahore court just declared that Meera has been married all along
[IMAGES.DAWN] The fake marriage court case involving film star Meera has finally come to a close nine years after its filing, with the family court in Lahore ruling in the favour of Attique-ur-Rehman, the businessman who claimed to be her husband.

According to the court ruling, Meera's case against Rehman for forging their marriage certificate has been scrapped as the nikkahnama produced by Rehman has been found original and valid.

Family court judge Babar Nadeem, who presided over this case, heard the testimony of nikkahkhwan Ahmed Ali Sajid who reiterated that the nikkahnama presented in the court is valid and that he solemnised Meera's marriage with Attique-ur-Rehman in the presence of witnesses.

The court's decision means that Meera is still legally Rehman's wife, which calls into question the legality of her alleged marriage to Captain Naveed whom she called her husband after a scandal erupted over the existence of a 'controversial video clip' featuring Meera and him.

Rehman filed a case against Meera for marrying Captain Naveed without dissolution of her marriage to him.

However,
you can observe a lot just by watching...
Meera's legal counsel has maintained that Rehman is blackmailing her through a fake and forged marriage certificate and termed the whole exercise a campaign to malign the actor. She filed a case against Rehman for forging their marriage certificate in 2009.

Interestingly, in an interview last year, Meera claimed that she has never been married before and was about to take the plunge. We can barely keep up with her!

Journalists among injured as JUI-F workers clash with police
[DAWN] The main roads leading to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly building turned into a battlefield after the JUI-F workers, who were protesting against the merger of Fata with KP, clashed with police here on Sunday.

Several coppers, media persons and protesters sustained injuries during festivities with the police as the JUI-F workers besieged the assembly building. The protesters converged on the assembly building vowing to disrupt its proceedings if the merger bill was passed.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was summoned on Sunday with a single item agenda to pass the Constitution (Twenty-Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2018 for the merger of Fata and KP.

Although the assembly passed the bill smoothly, yet three main roads of the bustling provincial capital remained closed to all kinds of traffic till conclusion of the assembly session in the evening. The Sher Shah Suri Road, Khyber Road and Grand Trunk Road remained blocked owing to the protest.

Islamic State groups resurface in US-held area of Syria: Lavrov
[ALMASDARNEWS] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-related groups have stepped up their activity in the area of al-Tanf, controlled by the United States, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a news conference on Monday.

"We have gathered much evidence some strange things are happening in al-Tanf. In our point of view this area is of no considerable significance for the anti-terrorist operation. In practice we can see that in this area, including the Rukban refugee camp, gangs appear ever more often and, according to our sources, they have connections with the Islamic State."

He recalled that the issue had been repeatedly brought up in the course of various contacts with US partners.

"We drew attention to the fact that this is in conflict with our agreements as to how to arrange for de-escalation work in Syria within the framework of regular contacts between the military," Lavrov said.

Moscow expects Washington to withdraw troops from Syria’s al-Tanf as their presence there is pointless from the military standpoint, Lavrov said, commenting on media reports about US plans to pull troops out of the area.

"As for media reports about the US making plans to withdraw troops from the al-Tanf area, I have already said that this zone was artificially created for reasons that are difficult to understand from the standpoint of military feasibility," he said. "This is why our Defense Ministry has been drawing our US counterparts’ attention to that fact and they seem to be coming to the same conclusion," the Russian top diplomat noted, adding that he expected practical steps to that end.

HTS commander rejoins Syrian Army after completing spy mission
[ALMASDARNEWS] A security commander from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
recently defected from the jihadist group to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) after years of working behind enemy lines in Idlib.

According to a local report, the HTS commander that was known as Abu Khadijah al-Furtai left the jihadist group for the Syrian Army in rural Idlib this past week.

The former HTS commander had reportedly spied on behalf of the Syrian Army and provided them information about the group’s movements in the Idlib Governorate.

Some reports previously indicated that the former HTS commander had actually settled his case with the Syrian Army and was later granted amnesty, but pro-opposition accounts later corroborated reports about his work for the government.

Report: Cindy McCain Likely to Succeed Husband John McCain in Senate
[Breitbart] John Gizzi, Newsmax’s chief political correspondent, reports:

As Arizonans prepare for their final salute to Sen. John McCain, Republicans and political pundits in the state privately tell Newsmax they expect the appointment of his wife, Cindy, to succeed him in the Senate.
....

Those who did agree, almost unanimously, that Cindy McCain following John in the Senate through appointment by Republican Gov. Doug Ducey is a near-certainty.
Although I hate this kind of succession, Ms. McCain's bio at Wiki makes her out to be something of a Moderate with Republican leanings.

Hopefully, her (soon to be late) husband's animosity toward Mr. Trump will not be passed along as well.

If she is appointed, she will have to defend the seat in 2022. Helping campaign as a politician’s wife is not the same as campaigning as a politician oneself, as poor Hillary Clinton has so neatly demonstrated.

Guide who helped Israelis escape FARC captivity found dead
[Ynet] Tour guide found dead several days after she helped 2 Israeli tourists escape captivity by vicious armed dissidents from a disbanded guerrilla movement; tourists said she 'did everything she could' to protect them, and when they left, assured them with a smile 'everything is okay.'

An Argentine woman leading Israeli tourists on a tour of marijuana-producing areas of southwestern Colombia has been kidnapped and then murdered by alleged FARC rebels, Colombian authorities announced Thursday.

The woman, 47 year old Berenice Blanco, and two Israeli tourists were kidnapped last Saturday while on a so-called "cannabis tour" the latter two took as part of their post-army backpacking trip.

They were travelling in the area of Cauca on Saturday, May 19, when they were kidnapped by gunnies who identified themselves as dissidents from the Sixth Front of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia
FARC or FARC-EP, is either a Marxist-Leninist revolutionary guerrilla organization or a drug cartel based in Colombia. It claims to represent the rural poor in a struggle against Colombia's wealthier classes, and opposes United States influence in Colombia, neo-imperialism, monopolization of natural resources by multinational corporations, and the usual raft of complaints. It funds itself principally through ransom kidnappings, taxation of the drug trade, extortion, shakedowns, and donations. It has lately begun calling itself Bolivarian and is greatly admired by Venezuela's President-for-Life Chavez, who seemingly fantasizes about living in the woods and kidnapping people himself. He provides FARC with safe areas along the border.
(FARC), an armed guerrilla movement funded by kidnappings and ransom, illegal mining, extortion and distribution of illegal narcotics.

While FARC officially disbanded last year, offshoots of the movement are still active in the Latin American country's jungles.

The group released the Israelis three days later, but retained Blanco, demanding a $100,000 ransom from her family in Argentina
...a country located on the other side of the Deep South. It is covered with Pampers and inhabited by Grouchos, who dance the Tangle. They used to have some islands called the Malvinas located where the Falklands are now. They're not supposed to cry for Evita...
Her body was recovered on Wednesday in the municipality of Corinto, Colombian authorities revealed.

After escaping captivity, the Israeli tourists‐Omer Yefet and Gal-El Yaakov, both 22‐expressed worries over the fate of Blanco, whom they called "Monica."

The two said she managed to save them by convincing the kidnappers that their families could not afford to pay their ransom. According to Yefet, the head of the gang‐referred to as "el Patron" by Blanco‐wanted 500 million pesos ($172,500) in exchange for their release, which he claimed was owed to him by the tour company that employed Blanco.

"Monica did everything she could to ensure that we were all right and to protect us in the process ... Unfortunately, I do not know what happened to her," Yefet said in an interview after his release. "It's not a situation where you can ask something, after you've been kidnapped for seven hours. When we left Monica, she told us with a smile, 'I know people who know how to get me out of this, everything is okay.'"

With "Monica"'s efforts, the two were released unharmed.

Blanco worked for "Colombia Cannabis Tour," a company offering visits to areas of narco crop cultivation in the Cauca area, which is frequented by FARC dissidents as well as members of the Gulf Clan drug trafficking operation, according to authorities.

Cannabis has been grown for medical purposes under state license in Colombia since 2015, but the marijuana fields in the Cauca region have traditionally been used to finance Lion of Islam groups.

Under a 2016 peace accord, FARC disarmed its 7,000 fighters and has now become a political party.

However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
the government says some 1,200 fighters have rejected the grinding of the peace processor and are still active in drug trafficking and illegal mining.

IDF raids camp of Duvdevan soldier's killer
[Ynet] Violence erupts as IDF sends forces to al-Am'ari refugee camp near Ramallah in attempt to smoke out Ronen Lubarsky’s killer, who dropped a heavy marble slab on his head last week.

Thirteen Paleostinians were maimed at least five were placed in durance vile
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
Monday in festivities with IDF forces in the al-Am'ari refugee camp on the outskirts of Ramallah during an operation to capture the terrorist who killed 20-year-old Staff Sgt. Ronen Lubarsky last week.

The terrorist dropped a marble slab on Lubarsky's head, leaving him critically maimed. The soldier from the elite special operations force Duvdevan Unit succumbed to his wounds on Saturday.

He was laid to rest later the same day day as IDF forces intensified efforts to apprehend the terrorist who is still on the lam.

The IDF, in joint operations with the Shin Bet, increases its prevention activities by, inter alia, arresting potential suspects every year ahead of the holy month of Ramadan‐a volatile month in which many terror attacks have taken place over the years.

Usually, the IDF encircles and besieges a camp after a terror incident occurs, sometimes partially, even if the terrorist has already been neutralized and arrested during the attack.

This, the IDF says, is done to catch any potential accomplices the terrorist may have had, to prevent copycat attacks coming out of the village or camps by people who may have known the culprit, and to prepare for a raid on his home to gather evidence and testimonies against him.

The army refrained from doing so after Lubarsky was maimed because the attack did not seem deliberate. The IDF maintains that such protocols are used only out of operational necessity to catch turbans on the run or potential terrorists, rather than as punishment for an attack.

Violent outbreaks by Paleostinian residents of the West Bank during raids such as the one Lubarsky operated in are not uncommon, nor is it rare for them to throw heavy blunt objects at the soldiers in an attempt to drive them out of the village or to harm them.

In fact, soldiers are often pelted‐sometimes at close range‐with washing machines, refrigerators and heavy furniture when they operate in the West Bank's refugee camps.

Incidentally, Lubarsky's unit was in the camp to act as a covering force working in conjunction with another unit tasked with finding and arresting "several turbans who carried out attacks in the past" by the Shin Bet.

While the operation had a specific purpose, it caused an uproar in the village which later deteriorated into a full-blown riot, with the army using crowd control measures to disperse rioters.

At the time, an IDF official announcing the incident remarked that "the terrorist who dropped the marble slab was not arrested. The force didn't open fire at the source because it didn't accurately identify it."

Gaza machinegun fire hits Sderot vehicles, buildings; Code Red alarm triggered
[Ynet] Several Sderot structures and vehicles were hit by machinegun fire from the Gazoo Strip Monday evening, which triggered a Code Red alarm in Sderot and nearby communities in the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council. No casualties were reported.

The machinegun shooting came in the wake of several tense days in the border region, that saw several infiltration attempts by Paleostinians followed by IDF retaliatory attacks.

Earlier Monday, the IDF nabbed
You have the right to remain silent...
two Paleostinian gunnies attempting to cross the security fence in the northern strip.

The Paleostinians were found with knives, bolt cutters and an incendiary material on their person. The Israeli soldiers came under fire while the gunnies were being chased. No Israeli casualties were reported and the forces returned fire, killing at least one member of Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",'s military wing while wounding another moderately.
The Times of Israel adds:
Israeli soldiers came under fire from Gazoo on Monday, prompting the military to launch fresh strikes on Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, targets in the Strip, the IDF said. An IDF tank fired at a nearby observation post, the army said. Reports said the shelled position belongs to the Hamas terror group which rules the Paleostinian enclave.

One Gazook was killed and another moderately injured, according to the Hamas-run Gazoo health ministry. Mohammed al-Rudeia, 25, was killed and another man maimed by shrapnel, the Gazook health ministry said. Hamas’s military wing said Rudeia was a member of the terror group.

Paleostinian sources confirmed that Israeli forces shelled targets in Beit Lahia in the northern Gazoo Strip.

Earlier Monday, the Gazoo health ministry said that a man who was maimed several days ago in festivities with Israeli forces on the border had succumbed to his wounds. The report did not say exactly when the man, whom it named as Nasser al-Arini, 28, was maimed
Another Times of Israel article adds:
This was the second machine gun attack on Sderot in under two weeks. On May 16, bullets also struck a number of homes in the town, though in that case no rocket siren was triggered.

According to the city of Sderot, the shots were aimed at an army aircraft that had been flying overhead, and the bullets struck the homes as they fell back down to earth.

Two Killed in Kashmir Militant Attack on Indian Army Camp
[AnNahar] Two people have died in a shootout in the disputed territory of Indian Kashmire, officials said Monday, the first attacks since the army suspended operations against the bandidos turbans for Ramadan.

A soldier was killed late Sunday when bandidos turbans attacked an army camp in Kakapora, some 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of the main city of Srinagar, said army front man Colonel Rajesh Kalia.

A civilian driving past was also killed in the exchange, a police officer said.

Three soldiers were later maimed when a roadside kaboom exploded underneath a military vehicle near Shopian district.

No myrmidon group has grabbed credit for the twin attacks.

The assaults were the first in the Kashmire Valley since the army declared a nearly 30-day halt to military operations, the first of its kind in the tense region for nearly two decades.

The decision meant Indian troops would pause operations against turbans and halt door-to-door house searches, but would retaliate if attacked.

Despite the suspension of operations, violence has not abated in the region bordering Pakistain, which also controls part of the disputed Himalayan territory but claims it in full, like India.

The Indian army claimed it killed five bandidos turbans on Sunday as they tried to cross the heavily militarized border.

On May 17, the army claimed three suspected bandidos turbans were killed in a forest area near the border.

Both incidents could not be independently verified.

In a separate clash along the border, a heavy exchange of fire between Indian and Pak forces this month left 16 dead on both sides, forcing around 80,000 citizens living on the Indian side to flee.

India deploys an estimated 500,000 soldiers in Kashmire, which has been divided between India and Pakistain since the end of British rule in 1947.

Rebel groups have been fighting for an independent Kashmire or a merger with Pakistain since 1989.

New Delhi accuses Pakistain of fueling the insurgency that has left tens of thousands of civilians dead, a charge Islamabad denies saying it only provides diplomatic support to Kashmiris' right to self-determination.

Total Gun Confiscation Genie Can’t Be Put Back in Bottle
by David Codrea

[Oathkeepers] “What Happens When You Write About Gun Control in America” Esquire’s Dave Holmes titles a May 21 follow-up. “Gun-rights activists threaten to shoot you (among other reactions).”

Follow-up to what?

A piece from a few days earlier titled “Okay, Now I Actually Do Want To Take Your Guns.”

‘[T]hat piece ends up being pretty moderate when you actually look at it,” Holmes insists unconvincingly, but reminiscent of a line from “The Princess Bride. “Had any of these folks bothered to read the piece … they would have seen the part where I said: ‘It won’t happen, of course. So let’s meet in the middle.’ I am coming from a place of passion, but I am willing to compromise.”

Some of us did bother and we’re not. We have no interest in meeting you or any other useful idiot apparatchik so that you can incrementally infringe rights you have no claim to. We know the end game and we’re ceding no ground from which to launch the next incursion. That would make as much sense as throwing a scrap of flesh to a circling pack of hyenas and expecting it to sate them and persuade them to be on their way.

As for “coming from a place of passion,” demand a totalitarian monopoly of violence and you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. We know where that leads. So Holmes’ complaint about receiving “death threats” would be hardly unsurprising if it were true, which based on the examples he gives, is not.

If he didn’t file police reports, I call BS.

Nowhere does he quote anyone actually saying they are going to do him harm, and even if he did it would be on him to prove he didn’t make it up or it didn’t come from a fellow “progressive” trying to make gun owners look like terrorists. Instead he cites predictions of what would happen if he tried, which we of course know he would not—his type expects other men to gear up and do the risky wet work.

As an aside, that the phrase “Molon Labe” is new to him shows a person profoundly ignorant of those he would turn into enemies. In fairness, his readership admittedly could leave most of us in the dust if the topics were men’s fashion tips, mixing the perfect martini or where to go for the best mankini wax job.

Not to be outdone, sometime writer/actress Lauren Shippen shows “progressives” aren’t about anything if not stale and unoriginal ideas. I blocked out some words in the above graphic that you don’t need to guess very hard to discern, but if you want to see it uncensored, it’s still on her Twitter feed. While some might be tempted to just ask “Who?” and dismiss it as a leftist nobody (albeit Forbes considers her one of their “30 under 30” up-and-coming young media luminaries) making noise for attention, note that at this writing her tweet has amassed 65K “likes.”

“There is abroad in our land the growing thought that America is now in fact two countries sharing a common border and (mostly) a common language but divided along the answer to this question: DOES THE GOVERNMENT SERVE THE PEOPLE OR DO THE PEOPLE SERVE THE GOVERNMENT?” my friend and colleague Mike Vanderboegh often observed on his Sipsey Street Irregulars blog. “Two countries, two world views, two contradictory histories. Each irreconcilable with the other.”

It’s not a matter of agreeing to disagree. That opportunity will not be presented by those who would rule over all. If they reach the point where those pulling the strings feel emboldened enough to try for full-blown citizen disarmament after decades of incremental erosions, there will be those who defy them and those who actively resist orders articulated by Dianne Feinstein when she advocated “Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in.”

And it’s not just so-called “assault weapons.” Remember, the Brady Campaign and the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence both started with the goal to ban handguns. Those goals haven’t gone away, and Nancy Pelosi admitted that the piece-at-a-time strategy is still in operation with her “slippery slope” advocacy (echoed by Chris Murphy’s commitment to “baby steps” toward disarmament.

#4  In Brazil its just a strike, but its also what an insurgency would look like for city dwellers -

The protests, triggered by a 50% spike in fuel prices over the last year, resulted in the declaration of a state of emergency across most major cities as shelves run bare and vital supplies dwindle. Airports have reported running out of fuel, hospitals are running out of supplies, and public transport and trash collection have been reduced or halted across the country. Some food prices have also spiked as supplies dwindle. As we noted on Friday, a lack of livestock feed threatens a billion chickens and 20 million pigs who may starve to death.

It's beyond the Left's comprehension as they live in an alternate universe.

#6  Socialists ALWAYS talk compromise, they just never do compromise. They want to sell a Polaroid deal, 'Please, Please it's ONLY...' As if Life somehow was a single stop action frame rather than a multitude with a trajectory.

Consider the homosexual of the field. Once 'all they wanted' was to be left alone and play with their little friends. Who the Hell cares? right? Yet somehow that has fully morphed into a militant demand that the entire social order re-align itself to humor every deeply delusional nut job in his sister's dress. jihadists killed at least three people in northeast Nigeria
... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border...
, emergency services said Monday.

The bombers detonated their explosives inside a house and near a mosque in the Mashamari area of Konduga, 35 kilometres (20 miles) southeast of the Borno State capital Maiduguri, on Sunday evening.

"Three people were killed in the two attacks and seven others were maimed," Bello Danbatta, chief security officer of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), told AFP.

"One of them detonated near a mosque while residents were preparing for the evening prayers and moments later the second one detonated inside a house," said Danbatta, who was involved in evacuation of the victims.

But Ibrahim Liman, of the civilian militia force assisting the military against Boko Haram, said two more victims died on the way to the hospital in Maiduguri, raising the corpse count to five.

The attack came two weeks after five militia members were killed by a male bomber who detonated explosives concealed on him at a checkpoint outside Konduga.

Boko Haram’s nine-year violence to create a hardline Islamic state has killed 20,000 people and displaced 2.6 million from their homes in Nigeria.

The violence has spilled into neighbouring Niger, Chad and Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
Although the myrmidon group has been considerably weakened in a regional fightback mustering troops from Nigeria and its neighbours, attacks persist.

The jihadists have resorted to the use of suicide bombers, mostly women and girls, targeting military checkpoints, mosques, markets, bus stations, schools and other crowded places.

Another Movie: Rare virus kills more than a dozen in India, health officials warn it could cause global epidemic
[SkyNews] At least 13 people have died in India after an outbreak of a rare disease that health officials warn could cause a global epidemic.

Emergency measures have been imposed across the southwestern state of Kerala following the emergence of the nipah virus, which causes flu-like symptoms leading to an agonising brain-swelling condition known as encephalitis.

Those afflicted by the disease, which has a mortality rate of 70% and has no vaccine, can also be sent in to a coma.

Health experts have been flown over to help contain the virus, which is listed alongside ebola and zika as one of eight priority diseases the World Health Organisation believes could cause a global epidemic.

Nipah has killed 260 people in Malaysia, Bangladesh and India since 1998, and has previously spread to Singapore.

Pigs were the host on that occasion, but this time it has been spread by fruit bats, with a number of the winged animals found dead in a well at the home of a family which has lost four people to the disease.

A nurse in Kozhikode district, the epicentre of the outbreak, is also among the victims.

Local media reports that close to 200 patients in Kozhikode and Malappuram are receiving hospital treatment, with 26 under observation and three under intensive treatment.

During previous outbreaks in India, first in 2001 and then in 2007, more than 50 people have died.

On both occasions it was reported in the state of West Bengal, bordering Bangladesh, with the neighbouring country having borne the brunt of the disease in recent years.

The union health ministry has said the latest outbreak should remain localised, although the government has urged people to take precautions and issued advise on preventative measures.

People should not eat fruits that have fallen to the ground or appear to feature tooth or claw marks, and travel to the affected states should be avoided, the government has said.

But panic has already set in, with tests having been ordered after several bats were found dead at a secondary school in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

The examinations found the bats were not carrying nipah, but fear continues to run high across the country.

New video game simulates school shootings
[DailyMail] A blood-thirsty new video game that encourages players to take part in a school shooting has triggered outrage online.
Oh, goody. A game to simulate (and stimulate) a plague that's an imitation of games simulating (and stimulating) a plague...
The upcoming game, Active Shooter, lets players choose between taking on the role of a SWAT team member trying to stop an ongoing school shooting — or the role of the shooter themselves.

Those who play as the shooter will be shown a tally of the number of civilians and police officers they have managed to kill during their simulated shooting spree.

Anti-gun violence charity Infer Trust has described the game as 'horrendous' and in 'bad taste' given the recent mass shootings in the US.
Doh. That was the whole idea.
Last year a young fella created an Arma 3 scenario, posted in Steam, that sought to simulate the shooting in Las Vegas. No other purpose than to draw attention to the creator.

Steam took it down three weeks later.

The scenario wasn't particularly accurate, nor was it, so I heard, particularly, good.

Seven years ago a young man put together a mod for Arma 3 that included ISIS forces. The same hysterics on display for this game was on display for this mod.

Poor kid. Since he was from Europe, "f*ck 'em all" apparently wasn't in his lexicon. That said, the mod happily exists to this day.

Sometimes the crazy mobs can be thwarted.

... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
and to a small number of high ranking officials, Haaretz on Monday quoted senior Paleostinian officials as saying.

If confirmed, it would be the most high-level contact between the PA and the US in over six months.

Haaretz first mentioned the Faraj-Pompeo meeting several weeks ago, but on Monday published further details.

One of the cited sources said that while the boycott still stands on diplomatic issues, security discussions are being held on issues with ramifications extending beyond Israeli-Paleostinian peace negotiations.

Some of the subjects said to have been discussed were the Paleostinian National Council meeting in Ramallah and Abbas’s deteriorating health, a possible indication of Washington’s will to ensure stability once he is no longer in power.

Abbas, 83, was released from a hospital in Ramallah on Monday where he had been treated for pneumonia for over a week amid burgeoning rumors of his deteriorating medical condition.

Faraj, one of the Abbas’s closest associates, is considered a friend of Pompeo, and the two reportedly met last year, after Trump was sworn in as president.

The US State Department declined to comment on the report.

Khalifa Haftar reaches out to Sudan’s Minni Minawi rebel group to hire more mercenaries
[Libya Observer] The Sudanese Media Centre (SMC) revealed Saturday that the commander of Libya’s Dignity Operation forces, Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
, had sent a committee of his military aides to meet with the leaders of Sudan Liberation Army-Minni Minawi in order to resolve the recent disputes between the two sides and to discuss increasing the number of fighters of the rebel group in Libya.

The Sudanese news website confirmed that it was able to obtain official letters that were sent between the military aides of Haftar and the leaders of the rebel movement, stating that the two sides have met to resolve the differences related to increasing support to the movement.

The source added that the two sides reached an agreement on a number of proposals; the most important one was increasing the number of Minawi rebels in Libya to more than 1000 fighters.

According to the SMC, Minni Minawi rebels are now present in Libya. In Zalla there are 450 rebels and 88 military vehicles, in Jufra there are 28 rebels and 37 military vehicles, and in Rebiana there are 90 rebels and 26 military vehicles.

#1  The Minni Minawi are Zaghawa, a tough born-to-fight ethnicity located in Darfur and eastern Chad. It is possible that Khalifa Haftar is using them because of their traditional animosity toward the ethnic Tubu whose homeland is the northernmost Chad Borkou-Ennedi-Tibesti and who have been making life miserable in southern Libya.

#3  The Libyan Army also has an institutional memory involving those people. During the Toyota War Phase of the Chad Civil War the Libyans depended on the northern tribes to provide infantry -- tough, tough fighters. When the Libyans lost the support of those tribes they had to negotiate a truce and leave.

Kennedy brothers likely killed by CIA on behalf of Israel: Scholar
The things some people think others will believe.
Iran Press TV quoting a 911 conspiracy theorist...
Precisely.
[PRESSTV] Former US senator and attorney general Robert F. Kennedy, like his older brother, former President John F. Kennedy, was likely assassinated by senior CIA agents with the involvement of Israel, an American scholar says.

Sirhan Sirhan, a 24-year-old Paleostinian immigrant, was convicted of murdering RFK and sentenced to death in 1969. His sentence was commuted to life in prison in 1972. He remains incarcerated for the crime.

RFK's death in 1968 has been the subject of widespread analysis, similar to the 1963 liquidation of his older brother, John F. Kennedy.

Bobby Kennedy was assassinated during celebrations following his successful campaign in the Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,n primary elections while seeking the Democratic nomination for US president.

The 42-year-old presidential candidate was fatally shot shortly after midnight at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

Various experts have ascribed a varity of motives to CIA involvement in the liquidation of both Kennedys. The secretive nature of the CIA and its reputation for high level political liquidations in the 1960s has made it a plausible perpetrator for the murder of the Kennedy brothers.

Three men seen in video and photographs of the Ambassador Hotel immediately before and after the RFK liquidation were positively identified as CIA operative, said Kevin Barrett, an author and 9/11 researcher in Madison, Wisconsin.

"The liquidations of the Kennedy brothers were largely carried out on behalf of Israel," Barrett told Press TV on Monday.

"John F. Kennedy was dedicated to shutting down Israel’s nuclear weapons program and was killed because the Israelis, specifically [former Israeli prime minister David] Ben-Gurion believed that this was an issue of survival for Israel" he added.

"Robert Kennedy’s convicted killer Sirhan Sirhan, the patsy who was chosen to be presented to the public as the supposed killer who was actually hypnotized and had no idea what he was doing there...was used for propaganda purposes by the Zionists who murdered both of the Kennedy brothers," Barrett said.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the son of RFK, says he does not believe Sirhan had carried out the liquidation and believes a second shooter did it.

#1  The CIA was really out of control in the 60s.

Heck, they're out of control today. The Kennedys were undoubtedly killed not for the reasons popularly put forward. Always ask: who benefits?

my favorite conspiracy theory is the one where Kennedy was killed and also Nixon was framed by people in the US Navy Reserve who had to stop them from cutting back post exchange privileges

#5  Always thought the mob was involved with both incidents.

RFK put serious hurt on the families (with JFK's approval). Jack Ruby was well 'connected' and Sirhan could have been easily bought (money to his family, etc.)

Plus, I seem to remember, Poppa Joe screwed them over once or twice too.

Iraq orders exhumation, identification of Yazidi IS victims
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq has ordered to open up mass graves to identify the Yazifi victims of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
krazed killers, a source at the health ministry was quoted saying.

Iraqi Almaalomah website said the general secretariat of the Irai cabinet directed the health ministry to immediately open up Yazidi mass graves in Sinjar, the religious minority’s habitat in western Iraq.

The cabinet asked the ministry to use its forensic examiners to start DNA analyses of the remains and to hand them over to their relatives.

A statistic released by the Kurdistan Region Government’s Endowments and Religious Affairs Ministry last July said Islamic State’s massacres of Yazidis forced nearly 360.000 of the religious minority to flee their areas. It said IS had kidnapped 6417 Yazidis since 2014, the report added. Those included 1102 women and 1655 children, the statistics show, adding that authorities had run into 43 mass graves of Yazidi victims slaughtered by IS,.

Islamic State massacred and enslaved thousands of Yazidis when they overran their Sinjar region, west of Nineveh.

In August, the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
said Yazidi atrocities under the Islamic State continued. "The genocide is ongoing and remains largely unaddressed, despite the obligation of States...to prevent and to punish the crime," the U.N. Commission of Inquiry on Syria said in a report.

"Thousands of Yazidi men and boys remain missing and the terrorist group continues to subject some 3,000 women and girls in Syria to horrific violence including brutal daily rapes and beatings," it added.

Erdogan supporters force removal of French weekly from newsstands over ‘Dictator’ cover
Stupid brownshirts can be trusted to always act in the same bullying way.
[PRESSTV] Supporters of the The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
have purportedly made it a tough week for the French magazine Le Point by forcefully removing the advertisements for the weekly from newsstands in La Belle France over a controversial cover that described the Ottoman Turkish leader as a "Dictator."

The weekly wrote on its website on Monday that it had suffered harassment and intimidation by purported supporters of Erdogan, who had been depicted as a "Dictator" on its cover of Thursday’s issue.

"After a week of harassment, insults, intimidation and anti-Semitic slurs and threats towards us on social media, now has come the moment when supporters of the AKP [Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party] are attacking symbols of freedom of expression and diversity in the press," Le Point said.

Over the weekend, police were deployed in the Pontet, the most populous suburb of the southern city of Avignon, after a group of alleged pro-Erdogan activists attempted to either remove or cover up advertisements for the left-leaning magazine at newsstands. Videos of the incident were widely circulated on social media on Friday evening and into Saturday.

Separately, another poster of Le Point cover was lashed out at another newspaper kiosk in the southeastern town of valence on Sunday.

In its latest edition, the French weekly published an investigation into the Ottoman Turkish leader, wondering in an editorial, "Is Erdogan a new Hitler?"

Ottoman Turkish presidential front man Ibrahim Kalin reacted to the cover in a tweet, saying, "We know the attacks. We know what their purpose is. People and the oppressed people see what's happening."

He also said that "The days of Turkey receiving orders from the West are over. You cannot bring these days back by saying 'Dictator'."

Le Point’s controversial issue comes ahead of the presidential election in Turkey, set for June 24, with the Ottoman Turkish president running for a second term.

Erdogan announced snap elections on April 18, saying holding the votes more than a year earlier than planned was needed to enable his party to make the constitutional changes narrowly approved in a last year referendum, which will give him sweeping new powers.
