'Angel of Death' serial killer Donald Harvey tango uniform from his injuries two days after prison beating
[Daily News] Serial killer and former nurse's aide Donald Harvey succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, two days after he was badly beaten in an Ohio prison.

Harvey, who was 64, was serving 15 life sentences after agreeing to a plea deal in 1987 to avoid the death penalty. He would have been eligible for parole in his 90s, if he lived that long.

He is believed to have killed as many as 87 people during his 18-year murder spree. Harvey used cyanide, rat poison and arsenic to kill his victims. Some of the patients were suffocated when he let their oxygen tanks run out. He was finally caught after a medical examiner sniffed cyanide while performing an autopsy.

Harvey claimed he was trying to end his patients' suffering as he killed patients in Cincinnati and London, Kentucky but prosecutors disagreed.

"He killed because he liked to kill," former Ohio prosecutor Arthur Ney Jr. once said.

That time Huma was asked to plan Hillary's funeral
[New York Post] A long-time aide to Hillary Clinton sought to map out her funeral -- and Bill Clinton’s -- in 2010 because "planning is best done when they are still with us," according to an email released on Wednesday by Judicial Watch.

Capricia Marshall, who was chief of protocol for the State Department when Hillary Clinton served as secretary of state, wrote to Huma Abedin, Doug Band and Cheryl Mills on Feb. 23, 2010, saying "everytime someone significant passes, I am flooded with requests" about the Clintons’ arrangements.

"Planning is necessary and best done when they are still with us," she wrote to top Clinton aide Abedin.

"As well, Huma, I would make the same suggestion to you -- for her it will be a little different ... And once affirmed it will be very hard for someone to deny the type of ceremony she wanted -- as well I understand that the President can request certain arrangements for her that she/her rep cannot (ie if you want the motorcade to go through DC -- stop somewhere)," Marshall wrote in one email.

She told the aides she needed to contact the military to prepare for the funerals -- "as Protocol has a lot to do with planning, notification etc."

Judicial Watch, a government watchdog group, released 1,184 pages of emails on Wednesday.

Obama Defense Official & Hillary Adviser Evelyn Farkas Was Illegally Fed Secret Trump Info (VIDEO)
[Gateway Pundit] Earlier this month Evelyn Farkas, the former Assistant Defense Secretary under the Obama administration and a top Hillary Clinton campaign advisor, admitted on MSNBC that the Obama administration was spying on the Trump Transition team and sending top secret information to "friends" on "The Hill."

This clip of Evelyn Farkas was ignored by the media until Conservative Treehouse and Gateway Pundit reported on this yesterday.
You may wish to give some thought to securing legal counsel, Evelyn.
On Wednesday night junkyard dog Jay Sekulow outlined the legal ramifications for the Obama administration and Evelyn Farkas on Hannity. We are now looking at several felonies committed by the Obama administration.
Junkyard dog Jay Sekulow: At the time that she said that she was made aware of the intelligence she was no longer an employee of the State Department. So what you have to ask the first thing a lawyer would ask if why would a former employee find out about this information if she was gone? Number two, we were concerned about the Obama administration involved in this would be known by the Trump administration. Well, guess what? The Trump administration. Well guess what? The president of the United States is Donald Trump.
Listen to the rest here--

N.J. Gov. Chris Christie to get White House job
[Philadelphia Business Journal] New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie may finally get his name called by President Donald Trump, who is reportedly set to announce later this week the Garden State Republican as the head of a drug commission focused on combating opioid abuse.
Big Pharma will not be pleased.
The appointment is one of a series of updates the Trump Administration will unveil as part of the White House Office of American Innovation, a new White House office that will be led by the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, according to the Washington Post.
Viewed internally as a SWAT team of strategic consultants, the office will be staffed by former business executives and is designed to infuse fresh thinking into Washington, float above the daily political grind and create a lasting legacy for a president still searching for signature achievements.
Christie has spent the last few weeks working with Kushner, the report said, although there is "reported tension between the two."

The New Jersey governor had served as an adviser to Trump in the weeks following his election win and ahead of his inauguration. Many expected Christie to get a high-ranking role, like U.S. Attorney General, after he was passed over for vice president. More recently, Christie reportedly turned down an offer to be Secretary of Labor after Andrew Puzder's nomination fell apart.

Further details of the appointment ‐ like what it would mean for Christie's last year as governor ‐ are unknown.

Israel's military exports rise to $6.5 billion
Moved to P. 3: Non-WoT. While military sales and non-military aid do buy friendships -- Nicaragua and Rwanda are now happy to be friends of Israel -- no active mayhem between Israelis and bad guys is involved.
Military exports grew by $800 million in 2016, bringing in $6.5 billion, SIBAT, the military exports unit of the Defense Ministry, said on Wednesday.

SIBAT director Brig.-Gen (res.) Michel Ben-Baruch said the majority of the new contracts comes from increased defense budgets in European and North American countries, due to the increased focus on terrorism following dozens of attacks on the two continents by "lone wolves" and Islamic State supporters.

"The increase in the volume of new contracts signed expresses a global trend of pulling out of the recession, especially in Europe and North America, and increased defense budgets in the face of growing security challenges," read a statement by SIBAT.

These dozens of significant contracts allowed "the continued trend of strengthening Israel’s place in the global defense market," it continued.

Drone strikes kill 5 Qaeda suspects in Yemen
[AlAhram] Drone strikes killed five suspected al-Qaeda Lions of Islam in southern Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...

In a separate raid, three missiles hit a cycle of violence driving down a side street in the town of Rawda in nearby Shabwa province, killing a man known locally as an AQAP member, the official said.

The raids come two weeks after US President Donald Trump

Since March 2, the US has launched dozens of strikes against al-Qaeda targets in Abyan and the neighbouring provinces of Shabwa and Baida.

Planned Parenthood Supporters Forked over $47K to Democrats Behind Undercover Investigator Charges
BLUF: [LI] A review of federal campaign records reveals that Becerra and his predecessor, now-Sen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.), have received tens of thousands of dollars from Planned Parenthood and other abortion activists over the years.

Harris was the 12th largest recipient of contributions from pro-choice groups, receiving $39,855 from the abortion industry as her office was investigating Daleiden, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Becerra served in the House of Representatives for six terms before being appointed to Harris’ seat. He received more than $7,600 from Planned Parenthood and NARAL, which also gives him a 100 percent rating on pro-choice positions.

Planned Parenthood Orange and San Bernardino Counties and Planned Parenthood Northern California each ranked among the top 10 of all pro-abortion campaign contributors in 2016.

The Attorney General’s office did not return a request for comment about the donations.

#2  Correction: Democrats give them hundreds of millions in tax payer money each year, and they kick back tens of thousands to Democrat political campaigns.

It's called the economics of corruption. Corruption is only sustainable as long as there is money in the government coffer. That's why Obama doubled the national debt to $20 trillion, we tax payers couldn't be squeezed anymore after ObamaCare did.

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group offshoot operating in Afghanistan have been killed by the Afghan cops in eastern Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
province.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the ISIS loyalists were killed in the past 24 hours in the Arclight airstrikes conducted in the vicinity of Achin district.

No further details have been disclosed by MoD regarding the Arclight airstrikes and it is yet not clear if the Arclight airstrike was carried out by the Afghan Air Force or the US forces based in Afghanistan.

Nangarhar is among the relatively calm provinces in eastern Afghanistan but the anti-government armed holy warrior groups have recently increased their insurgency activities in some parts of the province during the recent years.

Both the Afghan and US forces conducted regular strikes against the loyalists of the terror group in this province.

The increased raids, usually involving dronezaps, by the US forces followed a broader role granted by the B.O. regime earlier last year.

The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) are also conducting counter-terrorism operations led by 201st Silab Corps which were launched last month to eliminate the loyalists of the terror group from this province.

Turkey warns Baghdad over plan to raise Kurdish flag in Kirkuk
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
on Wednesday voiced its opposition to a vote in the disputed oil-rich Iraqi city of Kirkuk to fly the Kurdish flag over government buildings, warning against "unilateral steps".

Provincial councilors in Kirkuk province voted Tuesday to fly the Kurdish regional flag, a move likely to escalate tension between Baghdad and Ankara.

Iraqi Kurds are close to Ankara, but Turkey said it opposed flying the flag because it does not want to encourage any change in the composition of Kirkuk,
... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time...
which is also home to Turkmens.

Kirkuk is at the centre of a long-running dispute over northern territory that Kurdish authorities want to incorporate into their autonomous region, a move the federal government in Baghdad opposes.

"We don’t find correct the vote held by the regional administration", Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told the state-run TRT television.

"First of all it would not be correct to change that region’s ethnic composition," he said, adding that "faits accomplis" or "unilateral steps" would bring no benefit.

"We are supporting Iraq’s and Syria’s territorial integrity."

Family murder suspects gunned down in Thai south
[Bangkok Post] Security authorities in Narathiwat on Wednesday killed two men suspected in the deadly ambush of an assistant village chief's family early this month.

The dead men, residents of Rueso district, were identified as Isma-ae Hama and Aseng Useng. Isma-ae was shot in his torso and chest. A pistol was found with him. Aseng was shot in the torso, back and side and an assault rifle was by him. About 50 meters from the bodies was their pickup truck bearing no license plates.

The two are suspected of killing Somchai Thongjan, assistant chief of Ban Sri Pinyo village, in an ambush on March 2 that killed him, his wife, sister-in-law and eight-year-old son as they were taking their children to school.

Rueso police chief Ruangsak Buadaeng said paramilitary rangers in two vehicles had followed the suspects from Yala province. Officials in one vehicle overtook the suspects' pickup truck and tried to stop them for a search on Wednesday afternoon. Aseng then accelerated the truck and Isma-ae shot at the security officials who fired back. They pulled over and ran towards a spot where they attempted to fight the officials, and were gunned down.

LNA military build-up in Traghen as Fezzan elders work on ensuring end to Tamenhint standoff
[Libya Herald] A major build-up of Libyan National Army (LNA) forces is taking place at Traghen, the Libya Herald has learned.

A local source reports the arrival at the military base there of large numbers of fighters and vehicles from the region and from eastern Libyan. "They are from both the south and east [of Libya]" the local resident said. He could not give numbers but said they were "very high".

He said he had spoken to a number of soldiers who told him that so far they had not been given instructions as to where they were to go.

Traghen is some 125 kilometres south of Sebha.

Currently at Tamenhint airbase, 30 kilometres north-east of Sebha, there is a standoff between the LNA and troops belonging to Misrata’s Third Force. It is the last bastion in the Fezzan held by the Third Force.

The local community has called on both sides to resolve matter through negotiation rather than force of arms, although Third Force commander Jamal Treiki has insisted that his men will not withdraw unless ordered to do so by the Presidency Council and its defence minister.

Efforts to ensure a peaceful resolution, nonetheless, continued today with a meeting of elders and tribal representatives from Fezzan. They agreed to set up committee to mediate between the two sides.

Despite the standoff, the area remains peaceful with life continuing normally although on Sunday a local resident was reported to have been shot at near the airbase gate by a member of the Third Force.

Last December, civil society organizations and local elders from Buwanis municipality which includes the airbase demanded the demilitarisation of the area. They also called on the Third Force to withdraw.

Israel cuts UN payment by $2 million over ‘anti-Israel’ bias
[IsraelTimes] Israel announced Wednesday it is reducing its required payment to the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
by $2 million following recent "anti-Israel" votes.

Foreign Ministry front man Emmanuel Nahshon said the decision to reduce the annual payment was taken following votes critical of Israel at the Geneva-based Human Rights Council, and condemned the "obsessional discrimination against Israel on the part of the United Nations and its agencies."

The General Assembly requires all 193 UN member states to pay a percentage of the United Nations’ regular budget, based on their GDP. According to the UN Secretariat, Israel is expected to pay about $11 million this year, or 0.43 percent of the regular budget.

Under Article 19 of the UN Charter, any country in arrears of its dues payments in an amount that equals or exceeds the contributions due for two preceding years can lose its vote in the General Assembly. As of March 15, three countries were banned from voting because of arrears -- Libya, Sudan and Venezuela.

Israel’s refusal to pay $2 million of its dues will put the country in arrears, but it won’t immediately lose its vote in the world body.

Nahshon said the money held back from the United Nations will be used for development projects in countries that support Israel in international organizations.

The highest percentage that a country can pay to the UN regular budget was cut from 25 percent to 22 percent in response to demands by the United States, the world organization’s largest contributor. It pays 22 percent of the $2.6 billion regular budget, with Japan second at about 9.7 percent.

The United States is seeking unspecified cuts in payments to the United Nations, especially for the 16 far-flung UN peacekeeping operations that are financed through a separate budget.

The Jewish state had already cut $6 million from its contribution of $11.7 million following a UN Security Council resolution passed in December condemning Israel’s settlement building in the occupied Paleostinian territories, a foreign ministry front man said.

Last week, a United Nations rights expert issued a blistering criticism of Israel’s policies, deepening a row over alleged anti-Israel bias within the UN following US pressure.

In a report, the UN special rapporteur on the Paleostinian territories, Michael Lynk, charged Israel with "the subjugation of (Paleostinians’) humanity" and intensifying a crackdown on human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
campaigners.

Lynk made the claims in a report presented to the UN rights council during the Geneva-based body’s mandated session on Israel, known as Agenda Item Seven.

Israel is the only country targeted with a dedicated rights council agenda item.
That does seem to suggest a rather strong bias.
Israel and the United States decry what they see as an entrenched UN bias against the Jewish state and an obsession with the Paleostinian issue at the expense of other crises and human rights issues around the globe. But Israel is especially critical of the makeup of the Human Rights Council whose members include Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, Egypt, China and Cuba.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has publicly threatened to withdraw from the council over its "biased agenda item against Israel."

Three anti-India protesters gunned down in held Kashmir
[DAWN] Three non-combatants were killed and 28 other people were maimed in anti-India protests that erupted on Tuesday following a shootout between suspected bully boyz and government forces that killed a bad boy in India-held Kashmire, police and witnesses said.

The shootout began after police and soldiers cordoned off the southern town of Chadoora following a tip-off that at least one bad boy was hiding in a house, said Inspector General Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani.

In a statement, front man for the Pakistain Foreign Office Nafees Zakaria confirmed that Indian security personnel had slain four Kashmiris and condemned the atrocity.

"Indian occupation forces martyred four Kashmiris, injured scores. We strongly condemn the killing of defenceless Kashmiris in IOK [India-Occupied Kashmire]," said the statement.

Al-Sirraj calls for building Libyan military under civilian command
[Libya Observer] The Presidential Council's Head, Fayez al-Sirraj, urged for building a united Libyan army under a civilian command, adding that he is exerting efforts t build the state of law, institution and democracy that will guarantee that the dictatorship rule will never return to Libya.

In his speech at the 28th Arab Summit in Jordan, al-Sirraj called on the House of Representatives to stop abusing its powers and to commit to democratic meeting sessions.

"What made the Libyan crisis be prolonged is nothing more than the HoR's non-approval of the cabinet."

He also denounced the incident of digging up graves and mutilating the bodies as well as undermining personal freedoms by the ones who call themselves Libyan military forces.

Al-Sirraj praised the achievements of Bunyan Marsous

being the boss and the supervisor." al-Sirraj said in his speech, adding that a military gain won't be in sight any time soon and any battle in there will have no winners, but only losers.

"I call on the international community to take action in that regard and not only focus on illegal immigration and terrorism." He indicated.

Al-Sirraj also reaffirmed that his government will provide the necessary basic needs for the Libyan citizens across the country and will respect human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
.

"Living conditions in Tripoli are normal despite the security violations that intermittently took place recently." al-Sirraj concluded.

Critics to Ivy Leagues: 'Taxpayer gravy train needs to end' (Video)
[FOX] Over a six-year period, Ivy League schools have received tens of billions in tax dollars, bringing in more money from taxpayers than from undergraduate student tuition. In fact, they received more federal cash than 16 state governments.

The stunning numbers are all part of a new report, first seen by Fox News, released Wednesday by Open the Books -- a non-profit group whose stated mission is to capture and post online all disclosed spending at every level of government.

The 43-page report shows the massive amount of money flowing into not-for-profit Ivy League schools, including payments and entitlements, costing taxpayers more than $41 billion from fiscal year 2010 to fiscal year 2015.

The spending is controversial because these eight schools -- Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University and Yale University -- have enormous resources at their fingertips, including endowment funds (money raised from donors) in 2015 exceeding $119 billion. Take that total and split it up among Ivy League undergrads and it comes out to $2 million each.

Iraq
Mosul Offensive News

Iraqi militia dispatches 3 ISIS Bad Guys

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Al-Hashd al-Shaabi troops have killed three Islamic State fighters as they attempted sneaking to the military supply roads, south Tal Afar town, a strategic IS stronghold in northwestern Mosul.

“The 33rd brigade killed three IS militants who tried to infiltrate the military supply roads, south of Tal Afar. They were targeted by a missile that killed them immediately,” the media service of the troops reported on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the troops declared destroying a mortar detachment of IS in Mosul desert.

Mosul is the Islamic State’s last stronghold in Iraq. Eastern Mosul was recaptured from IS in January, after a US-backed offensive was launched in October. A new offensive started in February to retake the west. The greatest focus is currently set on central Mosul’s Old City, which Iraqi commanders consider as the biggest prize in the security campaign.

Al-Hashd al-Shaabi, also known as Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), which consists of 66 militia groups, is considered one of the largest militias in Iraq. It was established in 2014 by a fatwa (religious edict) by the country’s top Shiite clergy to fight the Islamic State.

In late 2016, the Iraqi parliament recognized the militia as a national armed force.

Iraqi forces hunting stay behinds in Mosul

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Special Iraqi forces have been formed to search for Islamic State members hiding among civilians in eastern Mosul, a report has said as fears grow of the group forming dormant cells in the recaptured region.

According to al-Arabiya website, the special forces began their operations two months earlier, when Iraqi government forces took over eastern Mosul from IS.

The report quoted members of the forces saying they rely on intelligence information, experts, suspects confessions and documents left behind by the extremist group as means to screen the suspects and verify their affiliation with the group.

Security commentators had voiced concerns that IS might have left dormant cells inside the recaptured areas in eastern Mosul. The area has already witnessed attacks by IS suicide bombers, drones and gunmen in the weeks that followed the security takeover, leaving casualties among civilians and security members.

Iraqi commanders have said recently they became in control over 50 percent of western Mosul. Operations to retake the city launched in October 2016.

The recapture of Mosul could deal the deadliest blow to IS’s influence in Iraq, but observers fear the group could shift to lone wolf attacks and guerilla fights if lost the city.

Iraqi forces closing in on western Mosul mosque

(Reuters) Iraqi special forces and police fought Islamic State militants to edge closer to the al-Nuri mosque in western Mosul on Wednesday, tightening their control around the landmark site in the battle to recapture Iraq’s second city, military commanders said.

The close-quarters fighting is focused on the Old City surrounding the mosque where Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi proclaimed a caliphate nearly three years ago across territory controlled by the group in both Iraq and Syria.

Thousands of residents have fled from IS-held areas inside Mosul, the militants’ biggest remaining stronghold in Iraq. But tens of thousands more are still trapped inside homes, caught in the fighting, shelling and air strikes as Iraqi forces backed by a U.S.-led coalition advance in the west.

Helicopters circling west Mosul strafed Islamic State positions beyond the city train station, the site of heavy back-and-forth fighting in recent days, and thick black smoke rose into the sky, Reuters reporters on the ground said.

Heavy sustained gunfire could be heard from the Old City area, where militants are hiding among residents and using the alleyways, traditional family homes and snaking narrow roads to their advantage, fleeing residents say.

“Federal police forces have imposed full control over the Qadheeb al-Ban area and the al-Malab sports stadium in the western wing of Old Mosul and are besieging militants around the al-Nuri mosque,” federal police chief Lieutenant General Raed Shaker Jawdat said in a statement.

Rapid Response elite interior ministry troops were advancing on the edge of the Old City, clambering over garden walls. Islamic State responded with rocket fire, streaking the sky with white smoke plumes.

“There are teams going into the Old City since yesterday,” said Rapid Response official Abd al-Amir.

Iraqi troops shot down at least one suspected Islamic State drone. The militants have been using small commercial models to spy and drop munitions on Iraqi military positions.

With the battle entering the densely populated areas of western Mosul, civilian casualties are becoming more of a risk. The United Nations says several hundred civilians have been killed in the last month, and residents say Islamic State militants are using them as human shields.

The senior U.S. commander in Iraq acknowledged on Tuesday that the U.S.-led coalition probably had a role in an explosion in Mosul believed to have killed scores of civilians, but said Islamic State could also be to blame.

As investigators probe the March 17 blast, Lieutenant General Stephen Townsend said increases in casualties were to be expected as the war against the insurgents entered its deadliest phase in the cramped, narrow streets of Mosul’s Old City.

Local officials and eyewitnesses say as many as 240 people may have been killed in the Al-Jadida district when a huge blast caused a building to collapse, burying families inside. Rescue workers are still pulling bodies out of the site.

ISIS' health minister die in central Mosul

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Federal Police command said Wednesday its forces killed the so-called “health minister” of the Islamic State in central Mosul’s Old City district, as operations proceed to clear the area from militants.

The service’s chief, Shaker Jawdat, said police managed today to shoot dead the Islamic State’s health minister, Saad Abu Shoeib, along with an indefinite number of companions, when they targeted their vehicle near al-Jumohouri Hospital in the Old City.

Jawdat said earlier on Wednesday that police forces had recaptured 330 square kilometers of western Mosul since security operations launched in February to retake the region from Islamic State militants.

The service’s chief, Lt. Gen. Shaker Jawdat, said in a statement that his forces took over 62 targets assigned in western Mosul since the start of the security offensive. The troops killed hundreds of militants and destroyed 286 booby-trapped vehicles belonging to the group.

Police forces evacuated 25.000 refugees from areas it had recaptured, Jawdat stated.

Iraqi forces recaptured eastern Mosul in January after three months of fighting to retake the city that fell to Islamic State extremists in 2014.

Police and supporting forces said recently they became closer to the Old City’s Nuri al-Kabir mosque, where IS supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declared the establishment of the group’s rule in Iraq and Syria. They had earlier recaptured the city’s airport and biggest military base besides several other districts since the launch of the campaign. The army’s leadership said recently government troops became in control over 50 percent of the region.

ISIS Big Turban, 3 others die in airstrike

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) An Islamic State member heading the group’s ‘grievances court’ in the strategic IS stronghold of Tal Afar town was injured, while his son and two of his guards were killed in an airstrike launched in western Mosul, a local source from Nineveh province said.

Speaking to Alsumaria News on Wednesday, the source said “a rest house of the Islamic State, located at the outskirts of Tal Afar, west of Mosul, was hit by an airstrike, leaving its official in charge of the ‘grievances court’ called Abu Hassan, Iraqi national, wounded. His son and two guards were killed.”

Tal Afar, west of Mosul (google maps).
Abu Hassan, according to the source, who preferred anonymity, used to work at the ‘grievances court’ in Mosul before being transferred to Tal Afar few months earlier.

Iraqi troops as well as the U.S.-led coalition troops resume their strikes against IS-held sites in Mosul.

Mosul is the Islamic State’s last stronghold in Iraq. Eastern Mosul and about half of the west were recaptured from IS since October, when a US-backed offensive was launched. A new offensive started in February to retake the west. The government troops have recently pushed deeper into the Old City, a densely-populated and -structured area which military officials view as central to the desired victory over IS militants.

Battles in the west are believed to be much more difficult due to the density of residential areas and the high number of civilians who the commanders believe are used as human shields by IS members.

22 die in western Mosul fighting

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Twenty-two Islamic State militants, including suicide bombers, were killed during an operation carried out to drive IS fighters out of Ras al-Jadda neighborhood, west of Mosul, a source from the Federal Police said on Wednesday.

“Twenty two IS members, including suicide bombers and snipers, were killed during an operation to liberate Ras al-Jadda neighborhood, western Mosul,” Colonel Zaher Hussein told BasNews.

Troops were able to gain control on the region after armed confrontations with the group.

In related news, an informed source from Nineveh police said IS militants targeted the freed areas in the south of Mosul using several missiles.

“Seven civilians were killed, 11 others were injured in a missile attack by IS against Okaidat, Bab al-Jadid and Bab Laksh, located south of Mosul,” Major Adel Khalil told the website.

Mosul is the Islamic State’s biggest stronghold in Iraq. Eastern Mosul was recaptured from IS in January, after a US-backed offensive was launched in October. A new offensive started in February to retake the west.

Retaking Mosul could ruin the Islamic State’s self-styled “Islamic Caliphate” declared in 2014 when the group occupied several parts of the country.

9 Iraqi soldiers die in western Mosul ground assault

Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Nine Iraqi army members, including two officers, were killed while storming a new district in western Mosul to drive out Islamic State militants, a security source said Wednesday.

Anadolu Agency quoted Brig. Gen. Saad al-Sayer, from the army’s Counter-Terrorism Forces, saying the personnel were killed during an invasion of Yarmouk district, west of Mosul. He said troops advanced more than two kilometers inside the district after more than 13 hours of fighting.

Thirty-two IS members were killed in the encounters, according to Sayer. Three suicide attacks were foiled.

Intense fights are running in al-Tanak neighborhood, south of Mosul, according to Sayer, who said that initial information revealed that Abu Yahia al-Zahrani, a senior field commander for IS, was killed in the battles.

Iraqi forces recaptured eastern Mosul in January after three months of fighting to retake the city that fell to Islamic State extremists in 2014. Another offensive was launched in February to retake the western side of the city.

IDF shutters 3 alleged West Bank gunsmithing operations
[IsraelTimes] In crackdown on illegally manufactured weapons, army seizes machinery, gun parts in Hebron region; 6 Paleostinians placed in durance vile overnight.

Israeli troops shut down three workshops believed to have been used to illegally manufacture guns in the Hebron region early Wednesday morning, as part of an ongoing crackdown on the weapons trade in the West Bank, the army said.

In a joint operation by the Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet security service, the soldiers confiscated equipment and gun parts from the workshops, before sealing off the doors, the army said.

No arrests were made in connection with the alleged weapon manufacturing operations, an IDF spokesperson said.

So far in 2017, the army has located and shuttered 12 such workshops and seized over 110 guns, the IDF said Wednesday.

That figure puts the army on track to match, if not exceed, its efforts from the year before, in which forces shut down 43 alleged gunsmithing operations and confiscated over 450 weapons.

For the past 15 months, the IDF has set its sights on the illegal gun market in the West Bank, focusing on its sources -- gun makers and sellers, rather than gun owners, for instance -- in an attempt to prevent terror attacks.

The effort has not yet significantly curbed the number of shooting attacks perpetrated against Israeli civilians and soldiers, but has sent the prices of illegal guns skyrocketing. The cost of a homemade weapons tripled over the course of 2016, an intelligence officer in the army’s West Bank division told news hounds in January.

Elsewhere in the West Bank, Israeli troops incarcerated
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
an alleged Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, operative and five Paleostinians suspected of taking part in so-called "popular terrorism," a catch-all term denoting rock throwing and participating in violent protests.

The suspected Hamas member was arrested in Aqraba in the northern West Bank.

Two of the alleged rock throwers were arrested in Usarin, south of Nablus; another two were arrested in Tuqua, in the central West Bank; and the fifth was arrested in Bethlehem, the army said.

New York Times 23 April 2015 - The Russian connection not being investigated
[New York Times] But the untold story behind that story is one that involves not just the Russian president, but also a former American president and a woman who would like to be the next one.

At the heart of the tale are several men, leaders of the Canadian mining industry, who have been major donors to the charitable endeavors of former President Bill Clinton and his family. Members of that group built, financed and eventually sold off to the Russians a company that would become known as Uranium One.

Beyond mines in Kazakhstan that are among the most lucrative in the world, the sale gave the Russians control of one-fifth of all uranium production capacity in the United States. Since uranium is considered a strategic asset, with implications for national security, the deal had to be approved by a committee composed of representatives from a number of United States government agencies. Among the agencies that eventually signed off was the State Department, then headed by Mr. Clinton’s wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton

Poll: 61% of French believe Islam is not compatible with French society
[Ynet] In a poll conducted among French respondents concerning Islam and French society as a whole, numbers showed an unsurprising rise in negative attitudes towards Islam and its relationship with La Belle France.

According to a poll published by the Ipsos survey institute, 61% of French respondents believe that Islam is not compatible with French society. In contrast, according to the same survey, only 17% of respondents believe that Judaism is not compatible with French society, while 6% believe that Catholicism is not as well.

According to the poll, these numbers mark an increase in sentiments that Islam and French society are not compatible with one another from 2013 to the present.

However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
it is also worth noting that the number of respondents who do believe the two can coexist have increased from 26% to 39% over the same time period.

Additionally, according to the same survey, 79% support the ban on wearing veils in French universities and 77% support the ban on wearing the burqini--the Moslem female bathing suit that covers the body almost completely.

Last summer saw a firestorm of controversy arise over the issue, with some towns sending coppers to beaches to ensure the prohibition was being enforced.

Given the aforementioned information, it is no surprise that 90% of respondents believed that secularism is vital to La Belle France.

In the last two years, close to 200 people were murdered by Islamic bandidos hard boyz in La Belle France. Since the Charlie Hedbo attacks, there has been a steady rise in the amount of French who believe that Islam and French society are not compatible.

Arabia
Soddys claim 4 Houthi missiles downed
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Riyadh – Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted four ballistic missiles launched by Houthi insurgents in Yemen toward Khamis Mushayt and Abha, southwest of Saudi Arabia, early Tuesday.

Saudi-led Arab Coalition command issued a statement saying the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted the Patriot missiles, shot them down, and destroyed them at 6:40 a.m. without causing any damage.

The Coalition air forces then immediately targeted the launching sites in Yemen, the statement said.

The statement added that Houthi insurgents targeting Saudi cities with ballistic missiles represents “the largest evidence of continuing smuggling of weapons to Yemen by all ways and means, especially from the port of Hodeidah.”

UAE condemned the ballistic missile attacks on Saudi cities by Houthi militia and forces loyal to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a statement stating that firing of ballistic missiles against Saudi cities underlines continuation of arms smuggling through Hodeidah, under the control of militias.

The ministry reiterated UAE’s call for an international stance regarding the port of Hodeidah to facilitate humanitarian relief operations and the delivery of international aid.

“Firing ballistic missiles against Saudi cities clearly indicates that the militias seek to undermine political efforts aimed at ending the crisis. The attacks also signify the involvement of regional parties to trigger conflicts and the continuing instability in the region to serve their own agenda,” said the statement.

The Saudi-led Arab Coalition called on the UN to put the strategic port of Hodeidah under its supervision in order to facilitate the flow of humanitarian supplies to the Yemeni people and prevent the use of the port for smuggling weapons.

Since the beginning of operations “Decisive Storm” and “Restoring Hope”, Houthi militias tried to target Saudi Arabia with Scud missiles, but most of them landed in Yemeni territories and some in uninhabited areas in the kingdom.

Saudi Royal Saudi Air Force has a long experience in intercepting missiles no matter their range or size. During the Iraqi-Kuwaiti war, Saudi Air Force shot down several missiles fired by the former Saddam Hussein regime targeting the kingdom.

Houthis capture pro Saleh leaders
Jeddah- Disputes between leaders of Yemeni Republican Guard of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the Houthis, who have seized state institutions, compelled dozens of officers to find a safe exit from Sana’a and some main battlefronts.

Despite this, some Republican Guard leaders failed to escape the Houthis and were arrested.

Officials in the Yemeni Army received direct calls from Yemeni Republican Guard leaders to ensure a safe way out for them, revealed Major General Amin al-Waeli, commander of the 6th Military district of the National Army.

Waeli did not reveal the army’s measure to escort Yemeni Republican Guard officers from their locations in Sana’a but affirmed that the military has the potential and capabilities that serve this purpose.

He revealed that there are disputes between the Houthis and the pro-Saleh Yemeni Republican Guard on the management of battles and on issuing orders.

Waeli reiterated that the army and the legitimate government welcome those who return to the right track, and those who have realized the truth behind the coup on democracy and the nation’s freedom.

“We will use all our capabilities to protect the nation, away from political conflicts,” Waeli said.

On the number of captives in Al Jawf battlefront, he said: “There are 200 captives, including high-ranking leaders who support Saleh and Houthis.”

He stressed that the defeat of militias will start from Saada and that the operation of liberation will occur as the army advances steadily towards the city.

Houthis are an early Shiite sect which controls much of the western part of yemen

alu abdullah saleh has been an active player for decades - sometimes allied with the Houthis, sometimes against them - he also was allied with Saddam Hussain at one time and at one time with the Saudis

The eastern part of the country is mostly controlled by the Saudi supported Sunni led faction

Al Q is fighting in Yemen as is ISIS

both fight against the Houthis and both fight against the Saudi allied Sunni led faction (and they sometimes fight each other)

2 UN contractors found murdered in DR Congo
Two foreign UN contractors who were kidnapped in DR Congo have been found dead, one of them decapitated, the government said Tuesday, as spiraling violence in the vast country sparked international condemnation.

The bodies of American Michael Sharp and Swedish national Zaida Catalan were found as the UN Security Council prepared for a vote on Wednesday on extending its peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres vowed that the world body would do “everything possible” to bring justice in the case.

“Michael and Zaida lost their lives seeking to understand the causes of conflict and insecurity in the DRC in order to help bring peace to the country and its people,” the UN chief said.

“I trust that the Congolese authorities will conduct a full investigation into this incident. The United Nations will also conduct an inquiry. In case of criminal acts, the United Nations will do everything possible to ensure that justice is done,” he added.

The two were kidnapped by unidentified assailants on March 12 along with four Congolese accompanying them in Kasai-Central province.

Government spokesman Lambert Mende said the woman’s body had been decapitated.

The remote region has been plagued by violence since mid-August, when government forces killed Kamwina Nsapu, a tribal chief and militia leader who had rebelled against President Joseph Kabila’s central government.

The suspect was believed to have joined the Taliban in 2002 and entered a unit commanded by his father, the statement said. In 2004, he took over the unit and received weapons including an artillery piece, a rocket and several guns.

He was involved in several attacks on foreign and Afghan soldiers, including one in which a convoy of seven or eight military vehicles was attacked with at least two bombs and rocket-propelled grenades, according to the prosecutors.

2 gunmen die in Soddy raid in Awamiya
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Saudi security forces killed two men who opened fire on police during a raid on a farm in eastern Saudi Arabia used by militants to plot and prepare for attacks, the interior ministry said on Wednesday.

The Mokhtar Brigades, a little known militant group based in neighboring Bahrain, identified the two men as Meqdad al-Nimr and Mohammed al-Nimr, describing them as “martyrs”.

Also, four other Saudis were arrested following the clash yesterday morning, the ministry said in a statement carried by state news agency SPA.

Those arrested were reported to be Abdelrahman Fadel Abdallah al-Abdalaal, Mohammad Jaafar Abdallah al-Abdalaal, Jaafar Mohammad AlFarj, and Wasfi Ali Makki al-Qaroos.

The statement confirmed that all those killed and arrested were “Saudis who have previous precedents to have been linked and involved in terrorist acts and criminal attacks, no citizens or security forces were injured in the operation.”

SPA said security forces came under fire while conducting a search in a farm outside the town of Awamiya.

“The source of gun fire was dealt with immediately and neutralized and the mission was completed successfully,” the statement said, adding that four other people with a history of involvement in “terrorist and criminal acts” had been arrested.

No policemen or innocent citizens were hurt in the raid, it said.

Photos were circulated of one of the two men with two bullet holes in the back and one in the head.

After searching both farms, security forces found 130 gallons of burning acid, bomb building materials, a gallon of potassium, three machine gun storage areas, seventy-one rounds of ammunition and a black mask.
Ynet adds:
Saudi police say they have killed two people in a shootout in an area heavily populated by minority Shiites that has been a flashpoint of anti-government protests and unrest.

Saudi Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Mansour al-Turki described the two men on Wednesday as terrorists who were wanted by police. The ministry says their names are Mohammed al-Nimr and Meqdad al-Ni

503 militants surrender in Homs
Approximately 530 Syrian militants from the Al-Waer district of the Syrian city of Homs decided to lay down arms and become unarmed civilians under the deal with local authorities, Homs Governor Talal Barazi said.

He added that the remaining militants will be transferred to the northern part of Syria alongside their families.

“We, as a government, generally tried to persuade the militants to remain here, but they did not want it and that is why they are leaving. About 530 people will remain: they are laying down arms and will lead a peaceful life. Among them are students and workers. Everyone will return to their places and will have the same rights as the ordinary people,” the governor told reporters.

The Russian center for reconciliation of conflicting sides in the Syrian Arab Republic played a crucial role in mediating the ceasefire, the governor underlined.

The overall process of militant’s withdrawal will take about 50 days, Barazi added.

On March 13, Syrian authorities and militant groups in Homs reached an agreement with Russian mediation as the guarantor. In accordance with the agreement, militants and their families agreed to leave Homs stage by stage, while Syrian government troops guaranteed safe passage for them.

On Tuesday, the Russian General Staff announced that almost 1,900 people, including nearly 650 militants, left Homs.

The blast hit a small bus carrying passengers in the Al-Zahraa neighborhood, which has been repeatedly targeted in bombings, including a December attack that killed four people near a Red Crescent center.

SANA’s correspondent in Homs said terrorists targeted a passenger bus in al-Siteen Street in al-Zahra’a neighborhood with an explosive device, putting the death toll at 3 people.

However, the agency said then that the Health Director in Homs said that the number of victims has risen to 5 dead and 6 injured.

"Thank you and goodbye": EU chief accepts Brexit notice
[DAWN] The European Union

is unhappy Britannia is leaving, European Council President Donald Tusk told news hounds on Wednesday after receiving formal notification from London.

But the other 27 states are now more united and will protect their interests in "difficult negotiations' before Brexit in 2019, he added.

Concluding his brief remarks to the media in Brussels, the former Polish prime minister said he had little to add about Britannia but concluded: "We already miss you. Thank you and goodbye."

Brexit divorce papers
Prime Minister Theresa May filed formal Brexit divorce papers on Wednesday, pitching the United Kingdom into the unknown and triggering years of uncertain negotiations that will test the cohesion of the European Union.

Nine months after Britons voted to leave, May notified EU Council President Donald Tusk in a letter that the UK is quitting the bloc it joined in 1973.

The prime minister, an initial opponent of Brexit who won the top job in the political turmoil that followed the referendum vote, now has two years to settle the terms of the divorce before it comes into effect in late March 2019.

"The United Kingdom is leaving the European Union," May told politicians in the British parliament "This is an historic moment from which there can be no turning back."

Man arrested for killing daughter
[DAWN] ISLAMABAD: A man allegedly killed his 15-year-old daughter in the name of ’honour’ in a rural part of the capital on Tuesday, police said.

The suspect later confessed to the police and asked them to come to his home and arrest him, they said.

The incident took place in Golra.

The police quoted the victim’s mother as saying that her husband, a butcher, came home during the day and asked her to fetch medicine from a pharmacy.

When she turned, she said, her husband told her he had strangled their daughter.

She said that he told her he had informed the police about the ’honour’ killing, and that they should come to their home and arrest him.

The victim’s mother lodged a complaint with the police and a case was registered on charges of murder, they said.

The police added that the suspect had already confessed to the murder and was in police custody.

They said the suspect is from Mandi Bahauddin and moved to Islamabad with his family around four years ago.

The police claim that the victim befriended a young man who lived in their neighbourhood. When the suspect discovered the victim’s friend had visited her at home, he told her to sever ties with him and not to let him come to their house.

They said the victim’s friend then visited the house again, and as a result the suspect killed his daughter.

University (PU) administration has issued orders banning the entrance of political, religious and social personalities in the university premises.

After receiving a preliminary report and recommendations on the matter, Punjab University issued a code of conduct stating that at the time of admission students' parents will be asked to submit a written testimony that their children will not get involved in any political activity.

Furthermore, the university administration has also decided to ban all forms of student programmes within the institution while also prohibiting the entrance of students' guests inside the university hostels.

The ban also encompasses any form of sloganeering by the university students.

At least ten people were maimed as students from the Islami Jamaat Taleba (IJT) allegedly gatecrashed a Pakhtun cultural event being held at Punjab University on March 21.

IJT members allegedly tried to halt the proceedings, which resulted in a clash between students at the university, DawnNews reported.

Police had to be called to the scene, where they had to use tear gas to disperse the violent crowd.

On Monday, police claimed to have jugged

The arrests were made as a result of the First Investigation Report filed against 200 unknown persons after IJT allegedly clashed with students hosting a Pakhtun cultural event and tried to halt the proceedings.

Classes resumed on campus, even with thin attendance, four days after the festivities.

The boy was picked up by a Spanish frigate, transferred to an Italian vessel and landed in Lampedusa. safely ashore he said that those on the raft with him had included five children and several pregnant women.

All had drowned, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) told Rooters. The boy had survived by grabbing a fuel tank after the raft began to deflate and take water. He added that the migrants colonists had been launched from Sabratha.

Yesterday the Sabratha’s mayor said that the municipality had lost control over local fuel smugglers. He did not mention people smugglers, who appear to operate just as freely as those who are stealing subsidised fuel from under the noses of the authorities.

MNLF chief gets closed-door meeting with Duterte
[Rappler] On the eve of his birthday, President Rodrigo Duterte met with Moro National Liberation Front chairman Nur Misuari. Misuari brought along his wife, Madam Tarhata, and son Abdulkarim, to his private audience with Duterte on the night of March 27.

Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella described it as a "closed-door meeting" and did not elaborate when the media asked about any agreements reached or decisions made. But he said he expected their talk to have been about the Mindanao peace process. Abella said, "They talked about strengthening relationships, they talked about peace, they talked about the development of the area."

Duterte previously said he had been discussing with the Muslim leader a "preparatory document" about a proposed federal system for Mindanao.

"I have been talking to Misuari, I already talked with him yesterday.... We are talking, we are crafting a sort of a preparatory document so that we can go into the process of proposing the federal structure," said the President last Friday.

Misuari has agreed to participate in the crafting of a law that will create a new Bangsamoro region. The Philippine government plans to create a panel that will engage Nur's MNLF faction, separate from the panel engaging the rival Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

Misuari is facing charges of rebellion and crimes against humanity over his role in the 2013 Zamboanga siege. But he was given temporary freedom when Duterte ordered the suspension of arrest warrants against him to allow him to participate in the Mindanao peace negotiations.

Turkey concludes Operation Euphrates Shield in northern Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Turkish Army and their rebel allies have announced the conclusion of Operation Euphrates Shield after more than six months of sporadically attacking the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS), Kurdish forces, and Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

Since launching this operation, the Turkish-led forces have captured the northern Aleppo cities of Jarabulus and al-Bab from the Islamic State terrorist group.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
during Operation Euphrates Shield, the Turkish Armed Forces often targeted the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) around the Afrin Canton of northern Aleppo, causing many observers of the war to question the Erdogan regime’s intentions.

Palestinian women shot dead after attempting to stab officer
[ALMASDARNEWS] A Paleostinian woman was rubbed out after she allegedly attempted to stab an Israeli police officer on Wednesday.

The shooting occurred near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City.

According to the Israeli police, the women tried to stab the officer with a pair of scissors after which she was fatally shot by security forces.
Ynet adds:
The woman was then identified as Siham Nimr, 49, from the Shuafat refugee camp in eastern Jerusalem.

She is the mother of Mustafa Nimr, who was accidentally killed by coppers in September 2016 after his cousin rammed through an east Jerusalem checkpoint while driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The officers mistook the two for terrorists, shooting the vehicle and critically wounding Mustafa, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

A source in the Shuafat refugee camp told Ynet that since her son was killed, Siham was heavily depressed and couldn’t recover. The source estimated that she tried to stab the officers probably as Dire Revenge for her son's death.
File under suicide by cop.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least four commanders of the Taliban group were killed in Arclight airstrikes conducted in Lashkargah city, the picturesque provincial capital of southern Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
province.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the Arclight airstrike was carried out in the past 24 hours in the vicinity of Lashkargah city.

MoD further added that six murderous Moslems were also maimed in the Arclight airstrike and two vehicles along with 8 cycle of violences and five hideouts of the murderous Moslems were totally destroyed.

According to MoD, the murderous Moslems were targeted in the vicinity of Ainak area.

This comes as MoD said Tuesday that two Taliban capos identified as Mullah Toryalai and Mullah Ahmad also famous as Zabiullah were killed along with 19 other murderous Moslems in a similar Arclight airstrike on Monday.

The murderous Moslems were targeted in the vicinity of Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand.

Helmand is among the volatile provinces in southern Afghanistan where the Taliban murderous Moslems are actively operating in its various districts and frequently carry out insurgency activities.

The Afghan forces were forced to tactically retreat from a main market in Sangin district last week amid fierce shootout that started nearly two months ago and incurred heavy collateral damage to the local residents.

Suspected bandit killed in ‘encounter’
[DAWN] KARACHI: A suspected bandit was killed in a shoot-out with police in Shah Latif Town in the early hours of Tuesday, officials said.

They added that the suspect, whose identity could not be ascertained, was bumped off while his accomplice managed to escape during the exchange of fire in Sector 16-A.

The police recovered a pistol and a cycle of violence from his custody.

An official at the Shah Latif Town cop shoppe said area residents informed a police patrol that some armed bandidos were snatching cash and valuables from passers-by in Sector 16-A of Shah Latif Town. "Our police mobile rushed to the place and spotted two armed bandidos near Matkay Wali Pulya. They fired shots at the police and then sped away on their motorbike. We chased them and finally trapped them in one of the narrow lanes. But they kept firing at us as our police mobile van could not move into the narrow lanes. After a brief exchange of gunfire, one of the suspects was killed. We have recovered a pistol and a motorbike from his possession. His accomplice, however, managed to escape," said an official.

Myanmar’s Harakah al-Yaqeen say ‘We are not terrorists’
[Dhaka Tribune] Harakah al-Yaqeen, a guerrilla group fighting the subjugation of and potential genocide against the Rohingyas, have claimed they are not bandidos forces of Evil in their very first blurb issued on March 29.

"We do not associate with any terrorist group across the world," began the statement, which has already been circulated widely among the Rohingya people via social networks.

"We do not commit any form of terrorism against any civilian regardless of their religious and ethnic origin as we do not subscribe to the notion of committing terrorism for our legitimate cause," the release continues.

According to the group, which now identifies itself as Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), the Rohingyas have been subjected since the 1970s to genocide and crimes against humanity in an effort on the part of several Burmese regimes and governments to "exterminate" them from their native Rakhine.

"It becomes clear that the Aung San Su Kyi-led government is not in any position to change the situation while they are themselves being held as political hostages by the brutal Burmese junta."

"Therefore, in the current Burmese political landscape, it is also essential to deal with Commander-in-Chief Ming Aung Hlaing (incumbent Myanmar army chief), who is the criminal mastermind of ongoing atrocities faced by Rohingyas."

Signed by the group’s chief, Ata Ullah, the release also mentions the October 9, 2016 assault by Harakah al-Yaqeen on the Myanmar Border Guard outposts which killed nine coppers and triggered the latest crackdown by the military, culminating in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Rohingyas from the Rakhine State.

It says the "defensive attack" was launched to "salvage and protect" the Arakan Rohingya community; a defence which according to them is their legitimate right under international law.

Expressing a hope that the international community would fulfil its moral responsibility by sending peacekeeping forces into the Arakan State (Rakhine State), the group also sought political, financial, technical and logistic assistance to strengthen their "legitimate" cause.

Stating their dedication toward continuing their "defensive" attack against the Myanmar regime, the group has also put forward a 20-point plan "in accordance with international human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
norms and principles" which they demand that the Myanmar Junta regime and government should be made to comply with.

Feds Charge Deep State Department Official In Chinese Spy Case
[Daily Caller] A State Department official is accused of accepting tens of thousands of dollars in cash payments, vacations, an apartment, and Apple electronics from spies for the Chinese government and lying about it to the FBI, the federal government revealed on Wednesday.
Here, please use our computer.
According to the Justice Department, Candace Marie Claiborne, a 60-year-old State Department employee, accepted gifts from Chinese agents for more than five years and, when finally caught, instructed co-conspirators to erase evidence of her alleged crimes.
See Candace's personal journal and laptop for names and offices of co-conspirators.
"Claiborne failed to report repeated contacts with two intelligence agents of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), even though these agents provided tens of thousands of dollars in gifts and benefits to Claiborne and her family over five years," the Justice Department said in a statement.

According to a federal affidavit, Claiborne began working as an office management specialist at the State Department in 1999. She then took jobs overseas, including at embassies and consulates in Iraq, Sudan and China. She maintained a Top Secret security clearance, which required her to report any contacts with people believed to be affiliated with foreign intelligence agencies. But Claiborne failed to make those disclosures, according to the affidavit.

Chinese government agents wired cash to Clairborne’s bank account, bought her an Apple iPhone and laptop, provided Chinese New Year’s gifts, meals, vacations, tuition to a Chinese fashion school, a fully furnished apartment and a monthly stipend, the federal documents state.
Yes, most recruited sources receive some sort of payment. Veteran sources receive monthly or quarterly stipends. Electronic deposit does appear a bit bold however.
Claiborne also appears to have believed that the agents funding her lifestyle were "spies."
Yes, Candace, and so does everyone else.
The affidavit states that Claiborne wrote in a journal that she could "generate 20k in 1 year" through her affiliation with the Chinese agent. Shortly after, she was wired $2,480 and tasked with "providing internal U.S. Government analyses on a U.S.-Sino Strategic Economic Dialogue that had just concluded."
Thoughtful of Claiborne to keep a journal of her espionage activities. Not very bright, but thoughtful nonetheless.
After being contacted by the State Department and FBI about her relationship with the spies, Claiborne instructed her co-conspirators "to delete evidence connecting her to the PRC agents."

Claiborne is listed in the State Department’s most recent telephone directory as an employee in the Office of Caucasus Affairs and Regional Conflicts.

"Candace Marie Claiborne is a U.S. State Department employee who possesses a Top Secret security clearance and allegedly failed to report her contacts with Chinese foreign intelligence agents who provided her with thousands of dollars of gifts and benefits," Acting Assistant Attorney General Mary McCord said in a statement announcing the unsealed indictment.

"Claiborne used her position and her access to sensitive diplomatic data for personal profit. Pursuing those who imperil our national security for personal gain will remain a key priority of the National Security Division."

Claiborne was arrested by the FBI on Wednesday and made her first appearance in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. A hearing was set for April 18. She faces up to 20 years in prison for obstructing an official proceeding.
Difficult to believe actually. We all knew her here at the SDFCU (State Department Federal Credit Union.)

#6  March 30, 2017 - Hillary Clinton Spy Ring Unravels As President Trump Orders Arrests To Begin

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers

A new Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that American President Donald Trump has ordered his Department of Justice (DoJ) to begin arresting members of a massive spy ring infiltrated throughout the US government since the 1990’s by both former President Bill Clinton and his wife, and former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton—and that began, yesterday, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arresting one of Hillary Clinton’s top Department of State (DoS) aides named Candace Claiborne for being a spy for Communist China. Reported car-bomb attempt on LNA Saiqa commander foiled
[Libya Herald] The commander of the Libyan National Army’s Saiqa Special Forces
...Libya's elite army unit, insofar as they have one, formed from a mixture of paratroopers and commandos. The group emerged from a militia with the same name in 2010. It now numbers a few thousand and reports to the Ministry of Defence. It deployed in Benghazi in an attempt to control the carnage. As a result, it has been attacked and several of its officers murdered. The force is popular in Benghazi for its stance against Ansar al-Sharia group...
reportedly escaped a boom-mobileing in Benghazi today when an explosives-laden vehicle was spotted and made harmless.

The silver Hyundai Sonata saloon without registration plates and with a rather poor paint job was apparently found near the route that Wanis Boukhamada was taking to attend the funeral of Saleh Jouda, the pilot whose Mig-21 crashed into a Tobruk house today.

According to Saiqa information officer Riyad al-Shuhibi the explosives in the vehicle were hard to detect and had been rigged sophisticatedly. Though Shuhibi didn’t say it, the detonation would have been made remotely, presumably as Boukhamada’s convoy passed by. Film of engineers making the boom-mobile safe showed them pulling a radio unit and antenna from inside the dashboard.

However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
the film also showed that the car had been left on rough ground between a two-storey building and a high wall, with no sign of a nearby road down which Boukhamada’s convoy would have passed.

Given the amount of artillery and mortar shells that LNA engineers were filmed taking out of the vehicle and casually piling some distance away from it, it is clear that had it been detonated the kaboom would have been considerable.

Two months ago another Saiqa Special forces commander, Colonel Mahmoud al-Warfali, who has since been implicated in war crimes, survived a car kaboom in Gwarsha as his convoy passed a petrol station on its way to the then-besieged Lion of Islam enclave of Ganfouda.

Saiqa sources are saying that today’s planned boom-mobileing would have been in response to the final reduction of the 12 Buildings complex after a siege of almost five weeks. The Saiqa information officer did not given the location of the vehicle but sources have suggested that it was near Benina.

Another militant den discovered in Comilla
[Dhaka Tribune] Law enforcers on Wednesday discovered a den of Death Eaters at south Bagmara village in Kotbari of Comilla Sadar south upazila, while two other suspected Death Eater hideouts in Borohat and Nasirpur areas of Moulvibazar Sadar upazila had already been cordoned off the same day.

They have laid a siege to the suspected hideout, Superintendent of Police of Comilla Shah Abid Hossain told news hounds.

Preferring to be anonymous, an official of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit (CTTC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police said the law enforcers discovered the den after gleaning information from Death Eater suspects who were recently nabbed
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
during their hunts for Death Eaters.

One or more turbans might be at the hideout, he suspected, adding that they were staying on the ground floor of the three-storey building.

"We have cordoned off the house and are suspecting that at least one Death Eater is inside, in possession of a large amount of explosives and weapons," Abid said.

According to police sources, the building that houses the hideout is owned by Delwar Hossain, a pickup-van driver by profession.

As Delwar, who had previously been in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
for years, was not present there at the time, the police detained his brother Saddam Hossain for quizzing.

Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, the congregants were being herded into the paddy wagon...
people have been evacuated from the house and other adjoining buildings as the police are mulling over a raid on the den.

A team of Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) already started their journey from Chittagong to conduct an operation, Deputy Inspector General (Chittagong range) Md Shafiqul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune.

Law enforcement agencies have accelerated their anti-militancy drives across the country after they had busted several such hideouts in different areas of Chittagong and Sylhet in last the two weeks.

As Comilla City Corporation is slated to go to the polls on Thursday, the Election Commission has asked law enforcers not to conduct any operation at the hideout before the election ends.

Sources at the EC said any operation before or during the polls might create a panic among voters, hampering the election.

"Although it is a concern of law enforcement agencies, the chief election commissioner asked them to keep the area restricted and wait until the election is over," EC Secretary Muhammad Abdullah told the Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday.

The police officials concerned informed him that they would not conduct any drive until the situation demanded, Abdullah added.

The secretary went on to say: "People’s safety obviously gets priority over anything else. But as everything still seems to be under control, drives can be conducted after the polls."

The Beatings Will Continue: Iraqi and Syria Editions

3 kidz die in ISIS shelling

Mosul (BasNews) An Islamic State (IS) offensive on the previously liberated east Mosul killed and injured a number of civilians including children.

A source from Nineveh province told BasNews “three children were killed and five other civilians wounded as a result of the IS shelling on al-Jazair area in east Mosul.”

The source added that the militants also shot a civilian dead while he was attempting to escape to the liberated areas in the city of Mosul.

Meanwhile the Iraqi special and police forces are leading a fierce fight against the IS militants in west Mosul, attempting to recapture the al-Nuri Mosque in the Old City where the IS leader Abubakir al-Baghdadi proclaimed a caliphate in Iraq and Syria in the summer of 2014.

Death to ISIS graffiti found in Sharqat

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) A local source in Salahuddin Province revealed that anonymous persons drew a graffiti that reads “death to IS” on the walls of alleys in eastern Sharqat, driving the Islamic State group to raise the state of alert, Alsumaria News reported on Wednesday.

The source said that unidentified men drew graffiti, threatening the Islamic State group, on the walls of some alleys in Sharqat district, north of Salahuddin, while added that one of the graffiti was drawn on the gate of an IS militant’s house.

The graffiti, which was drawn in black and includes phrases such as “death to the Islamic State” pushed the terrorist group to raise the state of alert, the source explained.

Lately, Iraqi people, especially in Mosul and Salahuddin, resorted to graffiti to show hostility against the Islamic State group.

Noteworthy, Islamic State group is still controlling the eastern side of al-Sharqat District, which considers one of the important strongholds of the group.

ISIS using human shields in Raqqa

BEIRUT: Residents of the northern Syrian city of Raqqa live in terror, trapped as a massive human shield in the Daesh’s de facto capital ahead of the final battle with US-backed opposition forces for the militant group’s last major urban stronghold.

A belt of land mines and militant checkpoints circle the city. Inside, all the men have been ordered to wear the jihadis’ garb of baggy pants and long shirts — making it difficult to distinguish Daesh militants from civilians.

Hundreds if not thousands of Syrians who fled from other parts of the country now live in tents in Raqqa’s streets, vulnerable to both warplanes and ground fighting. Enormous tarps have been stretched for blocks in the city center to hide the militants’ movements from spy planes and satellites.

The estimated 300,000 people trapped inside live in terrifying uncertainty over how to find safety. Airstrikes by the US-led coalition shake the city almost daily, mainly hitting northern neighborhoods, amid reports of civilians killed by strikes in the nearby countryside.

Leaflets dropped by coalition warplanes give confusing directions — one suggests areas closer to the Euphrates River are safer, but then another warns that boats crossing the river will be struck.

Mass panic erupted on Sunday, when Daesh announced on mosque loudspeakers that US strikes had hit a dam to the west of Raqqa. Residents were urged to flee imminent flooding, and thousands did. The militants allowed them into Daesh-controlled countryside nearby, as long as they left their possessions behind, according to an activist who is in touch with people inside the city. Hours later, the militants announced it was a false alarm and urged everyone to return.
“The people really don’t know where to go,” said the activist, saying residents were caught between airstrikes, land mines and IS fighters mingling among civilians.

To get a picture of Raqqa, The Associated Press talked to more than a dozen people with knowledge of the city, including residents who were still there or who had recently escaped, and activists with organizations that track events through contacts inside, as well as diplomats, the US military and aid groups. Almost all spoke on condition they not be identified, fearing for their own lives or the lives of their contacts.

Getting information is difficult. Militants constantly look for “spies.” One activist said two people had recently been put to death for suspected contact with the coalition. The only Internet access is in a few approved cafes where patrons must give their names and addresses and endure spot checks by Daesg fighters, who burst in and order everyone to raise their hands so computer screens can be inspected.

Raqqa, a provincial capital on the northern bank of the Euphrates, is the next major battle against the Daesh group as Iraqi forces push to complete the recapture of northern Iraqi city of Mosul after nearly six months of fighting. For the Raqqa campaign, a multi-ethnic force of Syrian fighters, dominated by Kurds and supported by US special forces, artillery and air power, have been maneuvering to isolate the city.

Concerns over civilian casualties have become a significant issue in the fight for Mosul. Amnesty International said Tuesday a significant spike in civilian casualties suggests the coalition is not taking enough precautions in its airstrikes. The US has said it is investigating the deaths, but American and Iraqi officials also suggested the militants blew up homes and blamed the coalition.

The Desh has sent most of its European fighters out of Raqqa farther east to the region of Deir el-Zour, deeper into its shrinking territory, according to Tim Ramadan, an activist with the group Sound and Picture, who remains in Raqqa, and Eyas Dass, editor of Al Raqqa Post, an opposition website that documents atrocities by IS and the Syrian government.

That is probably a sign it wants to protect the foreigners, either for a propaganda campaign or to send them to carry out attacks in their home countries, they said. Both spoke on condition they be identified by the aliases they always use in their activities to protect themselves and families.

Battle-hardened Syrians and Iraqis are leading the defense in Raqqa, bolstered by reinforcements from those who withdrew from Mosul and other parts of Iraq. Dass said about 2,000 fighters and their families are en route from Iraq, and Ramadan said many are already in Raqqa. Rami Abdurrahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, estimated over 4,000 fighters in the city.

Earlier this month, the militants used their artillery in the city for the first time, a sign of how close the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces have come. The SDF has positions to the north, west and east — their closest position is about 8 kilometers (5 miles) from Raqqa to the northeast.

Coalition aircraft have taken out 18 bridges, including the main ones out of the city across the Euphrates, according to the coalition. Airstrikes have also focused on the former base of the Syrian military’s 17th Division, north of the city, now a major Daesh base. Most of its buildings have been destroyed, activists say.

For days, dollar-bill-sized leaflets have fluttered from coalition planes to warn of impending strikes. More than 2 million have been dropped in two weeks, the coalition said.

One urged those living in tents to move closer to the Euphrates, according to a resident and the US military in Baghdad. Another warned residents not to board the small boats that are the only way to cross the river, whether for daily errands or to flee Raqqa.

“Daesh is using boats and ferries to transport weapons and fighters. Do not use ferries or boats, airstrikes are coming,” the flyer said, using an Arabic acronym for the group.

Getting smuggled out is too expensive for most. Smugglers — most often Daesh fighters looking to make a profit — charge $300 to $500 a person and sometimes as high as $1,000 to get out of the city, according to several activists and a Western aid worker familiar with the situation. The aid worker also declined to be identified for fear of jeopardizing his group’s work and safety.

Once outside, they face the danger of the land mines. The aid worker said one man who staggered into a camp for the displaced had lost a child from a roadside bomb and was himself gravely injured.

Those who make it to SDF-controlled areas risk being turned back unless they have someone vouch for them, according to Muhab Nasser, an activist from Raqqa province. He said some had been refused entry by SDF fighters, suspicious of Daesh infiltrators or sympathizers.

The cost of being smuggled out of Syria entirely is a prohibitive $3,000 to $4,000 a person, according to Sarmad Al-Jilane, a Sound and Picture activist in Turkey. Turkey also is cracking down on crossings.

As a result, few from Raqqa are found in southern Turkey, where hundreds of thousands of Syrians have fled the civil war. The aid worker also said so far there is no refugee crisis from Raqqa — a chilling sign of how hard it is to leave.

Fighters in Raqqa have started to move in with families to hide among civilians. Residents must dig trenches, stack sandbags and build earthen berms for the city’s defenses. Children have stopped going to school.

“If you want ‘lessons,’ you go to the mosques,” said Hamad, a former resident of Raqqa province who keeps in regular contact with people in the city. He spoke from Beirut on condition he be identified only by his first name for fear of reprisals against relatives and friends there.

Food is still in adequate supply, though prices rose after the destruction of the bridges. Medical care is almost nonexistent since most doctors fled long ago, according to Hamad and others. Hospitals are short on equipment.

But underground clinics run by the Daesh group for its fighters are well-stocked, said Hussam Eesa, one of the founders of the activist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently, speaking from Turkey.

Loudspeakers on mosques or on vehicles used by the religious police warn the populace that the battle is coming.

“They tell people ... it is a battle against Islam, all nations are attacking us and the Prophet says we should be united,” Eesa said. “They are putting psychological pressure on residents.”

Noam Chomsky: Trump might stage a terror attack to rally support
[HOT AIR] Monday the far left site AlterNet published an interview with academic and author Noam Chomsky in which Chomsky warned that President Trump might stage a terror attack on the United States to rally support for his administration. Here’s Chomsky from AlterNet:

I think that sooner or later the white working-class constituency will recognize, and in fact, much of the rural population will come to recognize, that the promises are built on sand. There is nothing there.

And then what happens becomes significant. In order to maintain his popularity, the Trump administration will have to try to find some means of rallying the support and changing the discourse from the policies that they are carrying out, which are basically a wrecking ball to something else. Maybe scapegoating, saying, "Well, I’m sorry, I can’t bring your jobs back because these bad people are preventing it." And the typical scapegoating goes to vulnerable people: immigrants, terrorists, Muslims and elitists, whoever it may be. And that can turn out to be very ugly.

I think that we shouldn’t put aside the possibility that there would be some kind of staged or alleged terrorist act, which can change the country instantly.

Far left academics like Chomsky say ridiculous things on a daily basis. What makes Chomsky's comments particularly dangerous is that his comments are accorded more weight by many on the left.

There have been numerous terror attacks on the U.S. in the past few years, including the Boston marathon bombing, the San Bernardino attack, the Orlando nightclub shooting, the bombings in New York and New Jersey and the Ohio State University attack. That's not even a complete list of terror attacks since 2013. So it's almost inevitable that there will be similar attacks during Trump's term in office. The FBI will do it's best to prevent them of course, but it's likely some attacks will take place. Now Chomsky is introducing the idea that the next terror attack will have bee "staged" in some way by the President himself. And, unfortunately, there will be people who believe it to be true despite the fact there will be no evidence to support it (because it won't happen).

I have no doubt Chomsky actually believes this proto-conspiracy-theory but it is poison for the body politic. It's no different than the false flag conspiracy stuff promoted by Alex Jones. Indeed, AlterNet has published stories criticizing Jones for claiming terror attacks are false flag events. They ought to criticize Chomsky for making similar claims.
He thinks that because the left would do it.

Iraq
Time for an ‘amicable divorce’ between Iraqi Kurds, Baghdad: KRG spokesperson
[Hurriyet Daily News] The time has come for the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and Baghdad to start discussing an "amicable divorce," according to a spokesperson for the Kurdish autonomous region.

"We should enter a serious dialogue with Baghdad to reach an amicable solution ‐ an amicable solution for divorce," KRG spokesperson Safeen Dizayee recently told daily Hurriyet.

"We can be two good neighbors. This is something we want as the only way," he added.

"The principle of consensus was something all sides agreed on [in 2003], but now that principle is no longer there. It is a majority-minority vote. So even if Kurds have 65 seats in Baghdad, we will always be the minority," he said.

The central administration has also been blocking the KRG’s share in the budget, Dizayee said.

"We are always at the mercy of Baghdad and this is why we are looking to find another formula. Our budget has been cut; there is no assistance for the military. These show that we cannot work together. There is an Iraq before djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
and post-Mosul. This is why we have to seek a solution for stability. The only way forward is to go for an independent entity in Iraqi Kurdistan," the spokesperson said.

According to Dizayee, the only way to achieve that target is through dialogue.

"We need to enter serious conversations first with Baghdad before anybody else," he said.

"Then hopefully with our other neighbors so that they do not see this newborn entity as a threat to their security and stability. We are talking about the borders of Iraqi Kurdistan alone. We have no ambitions of a territory in Iran, Syria and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
," he said.

Ankara has always opposed any sort of independent Kurdistan, highlighting Iraq’s territorial integrity. Dizayee said the issue was never raised officially with Turkey, and a talk may be possible after the April 16 referendum.

"The referendum is only a couple of weeks away," he said. "I don’t think it is too much of a time in a nation’s history. We are ready to wait. For sure we have to talk with Turkey."

The United States has not endorsed Iraqi Kurds’ independence ambitions either, but according to Dizayee, the real concern for the U.S. is to have a strong Iraq in the region.

#1  Turkey will certainly have something to say about that.

I assume that Iran and Syria will as well.

I have this picture of a sovereign Kurdistan turning into a sort of Israel or Switzerland type Island.

Dems Demand Investigation Over Mnuchin's ‘Lego Batman' Joke
While they may be failing to whip 60 votes for a filibuster on SCOTUS nominee Neil Gorsuch, struggling to craft a message, and left hanging on the Russia investigation, Democrats in Congress are at least going to nail down one Trump administration official for his comments about the LEGO Batman Movie.

Last week, Hollywood-executive-turned-Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin gave a short interview to Axios, where he refused to provide suggestions on which movies Americans should see because his advice could be construed as improper. He then went on to joke that families should consider an outing to see LEGO Batman, a movie he produced.

"I’m not allowed to promote anything that I’m involved in. So I just want to have the legal disclosure, you’ve asked me the question, and I am not promoting any product," Mnuchin said on Friday. "But you should send all your kids to Lego Batman."

Everyone was left laughing. Everyone, that is, execept Democratic Senator Ron Wyden (Dip$hit, Oregon).

Furious that Mnuchin would even dare to joke about his Hollywood connections in this terrifying, Trumpian climate of corruption, Wyden went immediately to the Office of Government Ethics, begging the director to launch a full investigation into whether Mnuchin was engaging in a conflict of interest with his off-the-cuff reference.

"I am concerned that Sec. Mnuchin’s comments, may be seen to have a predictable effect on the financial interests" of RatPac-Dune," Wyden said in a letter to the OGE.

RatPac-Dune Entertainment Holdings LLC is Mnuchin’s former production company with filmmaker Brett Rattner and a handful of other media moguls. The studio has produced and financed a number of recent blockbusters, including The LEGO Movie, LEGO Batman, and Mad Max: Fury Road.

But Mnuchin divested himself of his share of RatPac Dune before taking up the mantle at Treasury, and signed an ethics agreement stating he would not actively promote any of RatPac’s products as a member of the Administration.

When asked about Wyden’s dire concerns about his joke, Mnuchin’s office released a statement, essentially saying that Ron Wyden needs to lighten up.

"As his statement reflects, the Secretary clearly recognized that he generally may not promote private interests and specifically gave the legal disclosure that he was not promoting a movie, but answering a question he was asked directly," Mnuchin’s statement read.
