Rand Paul: 'Source' says John Brennan pushed discredited Steele dossier
[FOX] Citing a "high-level source," Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul charged in a bombshell Twitter post late Wednesday that anti-Trump ex-CIA Director John Brennan "insisted that the unverified and fake Steele dossier" be included in a classified intelligence community report on Russian interference in the 2016 elections -- a decision that ultimately lent credibility to the dossier and may have played a key role in fomenting unfounded fears of Russia collusion for two years.

Paul called on Brennan to testify under oath immediately, as Republicans continue to aggressively seek out the origins of the collusion narrative. Fox News had not independently verified Paul's source, and Brennan has not replied to Fox News' requests for comment.

Fox News is told Paul's tweet specifically accused Brennan of pushing to incorporate the dossier into the January 2017 official intelligence community assessment (ICA) from the FBI, CIA, and NSA that Russia worked to interfere in the 2016 election.

However, the dossier is not referenced in the unclassified summary of the ICA report that has been publicly released. Former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper previously testified that the dossier was not ultimately used in the ICA at all.

CNN reported on Jan. 12, 2017, based on anonymous sources, that intelligence officials briefed Trump on Jan. 6, 2017 with a "synopsis" of the contents of the dossier, which was written by ex-British spy Christopher Steele. Among the claims in the discredited dossier were that the Russian government had humiliating and compromising information concerning Trump.

#1  So Brennan is still lying about what he knew. He didn't just get bad information, he was the source of bad information. Moreover, Obama received that info in intel briefing and spread it around to other intel agencies. A dark place in hell is waiting for these people...or ought to be. This has never, ever happened before. The American people have been manipulated and played by a corrupt POTUS, DOJ, CIA, Dem Congress (and some Pubs (McCain)), and FBI. FVEY was involved also. Trump has every right to be pissed as should ALL Americans!

#2  He didn't just get bad information, he was the source of bad information. Moreover, Obama received that info in intel briefing and spread it around to other intel agencies.

Just as many here have suspected since Trump took office.

It will likely one day be discovered that the Clinton Foundation was a money laundering Klingon cutout. These intelligence community bigwigs have their collective panties in a wad over something. My guess is it's the Clinton Foundation with it's global outreach and contacts.

Wiring the Klingon's into the Foundation was a brilliant stroke by the Clinton's. The ultimate 'insurance policy'. Weaponizing the IC and FBI, what an effective method for also monitoring the Trump and Sander's campaigns. Tossing in a little political misinformation (Trump-Russian collusion) would have been second nature.

#3  If so, the klingon intel agency has to be disbanded.

#4  Add to #2 the Bruce and Nellie Orr question. Nellie's Russian contacts and experience, her HAM radio hobby, her bedroom pillow pass-through ability, the Christopher Steele and likely MI6 connection, all just a little bit too coincidental.

Not to mention the Trump Towers monitoring and unsanctioned visit by NSA Director Mike Rogers to Trump Towers... accompanied by the move the very next day of the entire Trump campaign
team.

Anyone heard from Admiral Rogers lately? I thought not.

#6  Adam Shiff issue, so easily solved:

POTUS To Shiff: Hey Adam, you POS. You got something on me, no problem. Pull that smoke stick! You have 10 days 48 hours to bundle it up and deliver it to AG Barr.

Until AG Barr gets it and sorts it out.... YOUR SECURITY CLEARANCE is SUSPENDED.

Oh, like Brennan, you were given bad info and don't have anything? No problem. Your CLEARANCE is now REVOKED !

Have a nice fok'ing day.

Letting the cat out of the bag
[ArsTechnica] An Alabama representative just let the cat out of the bag with the SLS rocket [SLS=Senate Launch System]

Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Ala.) says these programs provide a lot of jobs.

On Wednesday, NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine appeared before the United States Congress to talk about the president's budget request for fiscal year 2020. There, Bridenstine faced a slew of questions about the Space Launch System rocket, particularly from representatives whose states have a large number of jobs tied to the program.

The questions came a day after Vice President Mike Pence put the SLS rocket program on notice in regard to his desire to send humans to the lunar surface by 2024. "If our current contractors can't meet this objective, then we'll find ones that will," Pence said. During the House appropriations hearing, legislators from SLS states wanted to make sure NASA still plans to use the rocket for the agency's heavy-lift needs.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel says Jussie Smollett got special treatment
[PAGESIX] Jussie Smollett received preferential treatment from Windy City prosecutors because he’s "a person of influence," reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
Mayor Rahm Emanuel railed on Wednesday.

Emanuel continued his onslaught of criticism of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for their abrupt decision to dismiss the hoax hate crime case against the "Empire" star, dropping all 16 felony charges against him.

"This looks like because he’s an actor, a person of influence, he got treated differently than anybody else," the mayor said on ABC’s "Good Morning America."

Emanuel, however, stopped short of calling for an investigation into prosecutors for the sweetheart deal that he blasted as a "whitewash of justice" on Tuesday.

"You have the state’s attorney’s office saying he’s not exonerated, he actually did commit this hoax. He’s saying he’s innocent and his words are true ‐ they better get their stories straight," said Emanuel.

-Land of the Free
Mom Ignores Doctor When Her Sick 2-Year-Old Starts Feeling Better, Child Services Send a SWAT Team
[Reason] Chandler, Arizona, cops broke through the door of a family's home in the middle of the night, stormed in, pointed their guns, handcuffed the father, and watched as the state's Department of Child Safety (DCS) took custody of the parents' three kids‐all because mom had decided her toddler's fever was not serious enough to merit a trip to the hospital.

It was dinnertime on February 25 when the pregnant mother took her 2-year-old to the doctor with a fever of over 100. The doctor told her to take him to the emergency room, fearing that because the boy was unvaccinated, perhaps he had meningitis‐a life-threatening disease.

The doctor called the hospital to alert them. But by the time the mother and child left his office, the boy was "laughing and playing with his siblings," according to this excellent piece by Dianna M. Nanez in The Arizona Republic. Mom took his temperature again, and it was almost normal. So instead of going to the emergency room, the family went home. The mom called the doctor to say her boy's fever had broken and she wasn't going to the emergency room. The doctor told her she should go anyway, so she agreed she would‐but then she didn't.

That's when the madness began.

The hospital called the doctor to tell him the toddler hadn't arrived. The doctor called DCS. And DCS requested the cops check on the family as a caseworker headed over.

And then, according to The Arizona Republic:

It was about 10:30 p.m. when two police officers knocked on the family's door. The officers heard someone coughing.

Officer Tyler Cascio wrote in a police report that he knocked on the door several times but no one answered.

A neighbor approached the officers and police explained the situation. The woman said she knew her neighbor and that "she was a good mother." At the request of officers, the neighbor called the mother and said police wanted to speak with her.

The DCS caseworker arrived and updated police on the toddler's fever and the mother choosing not to take her child to the hospital. The officer called the family's doctor, who repeated her recommendation that the mother take the child to the hospital. ...

At about 11:30 p.m., the caseworker informed officers that DCS planned to obtain a "temporary custody notice" from a judge to remove the child for emergency medical aid.

Just after midnight the caseworker got that notice, which is required by law. Matters subsequently escalated:

Cascio wrote that officers consulted with the police criminal investigations bureau and SWAT.

"Based upon the court order, the intent of DCS to serve the order, and exigency to ensure the health and welfare of the child, the decision was made to force entry to the home if the parents refused to respond to verbal requests," according to police records. Police knocked, saying they had a court order and would force entry if needed, according to police records.

And force they did:

It was after 1 a.m. when officers kicked down the family's door. One officer carried a shield, while another was described as having "lethal coverage." Officers pointing guns yelled, "Chandler Police Department," and entered the house.

The rest of the story is equally nuts. The kids were all placed in separate foster homes. When the case got to juvenile court 10 days later, DCS requested it be closed to the public. The judge refused.

But then it seemed as if DCS decided to make everything harder for the parents, because now the press was interested, as was the Arizona DCS Oversight Group, a local organization that fights for families' rights, and a state legislator, Rep. Kelly Townsend (R–Mesa), who had helped write the law requiring DCS to get a warrant before removing a child. Townsend has been lobbing zingers like, "What about the parents' rights to decide what's best for their child? Parents felt the child was fine. Next thing we know, the Gestapo is at their door."

In court, DCS tried to convince the judge, Jennifer Green, to bar the press from covering the dispute. A lawyer for the agency even claimed that the parents had gone against the best interests of the children by involving the media. Green rejected this argument, saying, "In Arizona we like our courts to be open."

However, the judge ultimately sided with DCS, ruling that the children's removal was lawful and telling the parents "to remember that the state had them on a family-reunification plan and wants them to regain custody of their children."

The children's grandparents are undergoing a DCS review, and hope to be permitted to temporarily shelter the kids once that's approved. But there's no telling how long it will be before the kids can just go home to mom and dad.
This is your liberal utopia. The state controls your children. They just live with you and your parental responsibilities and judgement are either void or secondary to the state's judgement.

#9  This is not the first time overzealous doctors and child protective service social workers have combined to kidnap children from their caring parents. Recall Justina Pelletier, who spent sixteen months in a locked hospital psych ward, her parents forbidden to have unsupervised contact with her, because the doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital disagreed with the diagnosis of the experts at Tufts Medical Center.

I know of a similar case in California where a young child with a rare fragile bone disease (I don’t recall the precise name) was taken from his single mother and put in foster care on the assumption that the clearly loved child was being abused. When she finally got the boy back years later, she fled with him to the far side of the country must to make sure California child protective services couldn’t get their hands on him again. They stayed overnight with us on the way — he was charming, bright, and visbly relieved to be back with his mother.

The website MedicalKidnap.com is a bit obsessive about collecting stories and statistics on the subject.

Biden Attacks America’s ‘white Man’s Culture’
[NEWS.GRABIEN] ormer vice president and likely 2020 presidential candidate, Joe Biden, attacked the United States’ “white man’s culture,” during an appearance at the Biden Courage Awards, which honors those working to combat sexual assault on college campuses.
Actually, white man's culture sez sexual assault is a big no-no. You know, chivalry and all that sort of nonsense. Non-white cultures have mostly treated women as property. Some, like Hindoo culture, had pleasant practices like suttee, where the woman was expected to climb onto her husband's funeral pyre.
That’s because the way the conquering Moghuls treated Hindoo widows was much worse than merely burning to death. Sometimes all the choices are bad.
Biden said America’s racist culture is why Anita Hill wasn’t able to stop Clarence Thomas’ nomination to the Supreme Court.
Could it have been possible that she was a liar?
“A really notable woman, Anita Hill, professor, showed the courage of a lifetime talking about her experience being harassed by Clarence Thomas,” Biden said at the New York City banquet. “We knew a lot less about the extent of harassment back then, over 30 years ago. But she paid a terrible price. She was abused through the hearing. She was taken advantage of. Her reputation was attacked.”
They tried to do the same thing with Justice Kavanaugh, possibly the cleanest man in the U.S.A. And Clarence Thomas remains a really notable man, who’s been paying a terrible price, living with hearsay as evidence against his reputation.
“I wish I could have done something,” he continued. “I opposed Clarence Thomas nomination. I voted against him. But I also realized there was a real and perceived problem the committee faced.”
Joe's got a real and perceived problem with putting his hands on every woman in sight. Maybe he's just hard of seeing and he's acquainting himself by braille.
Biden squarely blamed white people for Clarence Thomas being believed over Anita Hill.
"Dat's what white people do!"... But wait! Joe's white. Wouldn't he do the same thing? I'm so confused.
“They were a bunch of white guys,” he said. “No, I mean it sincerely, a bunch of white guys hearing this testimony in the Senate Judiciary Committee. So when Anita Hill, when Anita Hill came to testify, she faced a committee that didn’t fully understand what the hell is all about. To this day I regret I couldn’t come up with a way to get a kind of hearing she deserved, given the courage she showed by reaching out to us. The hearing she deserved was a hearing where she was respected, where the tone and the questioning was not hostile and as sullied, where the fact that she stepped forward was recognized as an act of courage in and of itself. Because let’s face it, back in 1991 it took a lot of courage to take on a man who was so much a part of the establishment and the power structure.”
He was a powerful black man, y'see. They're just the same as white men, only they're black. Joe's got his pander up, by gum!
Biden traced the episode back to English common law in the 1300s, which he said enabled spousal abuse.
In India, they were much more enlightened. Under the Laws of Manu, the primary pre-colonial Indian jurisprudence (other than the Koran), the only apparent time that a woman obtains any real power is when she becomes the senior married woman in a household. Even this status has its limits. According to the Manusmrti the wife must still obey her male relatives, which in this case would mean chiefly her husband. So what would woman do when her husband died? If a Hindu woman was lucky she would have other male relatives who would care for her, in particular her sons.
“You all know what the phrase rule of thumb means? Where it’s derived from?” Biden asked. “In English common law, not codification or common law, back in the late 1300s, so many women were dying at the hands of her husbands because they were chattel, just like the cattle or the sheep, that the Court of Common Law decided they had to do something about the extent of the deaths. So, you know what they said? No man has a right to chastise his woman with a rod thicker than the circumference of his thumb. This is English jurisprudential culture, a white man’s culture. That’s got to change it’s got to change.”
That's what we call a "folk etymology." Blackstone makes no mention of the "rule of thumb," and the way it's used doesn't appear to go with the supposed definition. The exact phrase rule of thumb first became associated with domestic abuse in the 1970s, after which the spurious legal definition was cited as factual in a number of law journals. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights published a report on domestic abuse titled "Under the Rule of Thumb" in 1982. Maybe they were just thinking about the numerous fatwahs allowing wife beating as long as the stick is no bigger than an inch around.

JWST absorbs all money and can't deliver
[SpaceNews] As NASA commits to performing another cost and schedule estimate for the James Webb Space Telescope, the chairman of an independent review board said he’s concerned about its ability to remain on track for a launch in two years.

Speaking at a meeting of the Committee of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the National Academies’ Space Science Week event here March 26, Tom Young, who chaired the Independent Review Board chartered by NASA last year to review cost and schedule problems with JWST, said that since the agency revised the schedule of the mission last June work on the space telescope appeared be taking longer than expected.

“We went back and took a look at schedule performance as a part of our assessment,” he said. “One thing really did catch our attention and that was, in our judgement, that the consumption of margin at the time we looked at that was significantly higher than we would have expected.”

Young said the board didn’t do a formal analysis of the current target launch date of end of March 2021 but rather “some back-of-the-envelope looks” at the schedule for the remaining two years before launch. “It suggested to us there was cause for concern,” he said. “Reserved had been consumed at a pretty high rate and the impact of that should really be better understood and analyzed.”

#2  I think it's been simmering on the back burner for some time. Trump's been clearing out hurdles and trying to prevent a civil war.

#3  JohnQC is correct, they want to tear down this republic, there will be a fight. I think his taxes are the next fight to bring him down.

Dems Slam Pompeo as 'Abortion-Obsessed' Because of Popular Move to Stop Overseas Abortion Funding
[PJ] On Tuesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced new efforts to prevent American overseas funding from supporting abortion. While the Trump administration had already implemented what is called the "Mexico City Policy," this recent change makes that existing policy more effective. Democrats have slammed the Trump administration as "abortion-obsessed," but this policy is extremely popular, as are restrictions to late-term abortion.

"Your administration is abortion-obsessed," Rep. Lois Frankel (D-Fla.) told Pompeo in a hearing on Wednesday. "You’re so obsessed with it that the side-effects are devastating the health and are going to continue to devastate the health of women around the world."

Many Democrats have indeed seized on abortion as a vital "women's health" issue, even though the vast majority of abortions are elective and have nothing to do with threats to a woman's health.

As for the Mexico City Policy, it merely involves cutting American funding to organizations that promote abortion overseas. The new expansion cuts funding to organizations that provide funding to such groups.

"We will refuse to provide assistance to groups who provide funding to other groups" that promote abortion, Pompeo said in an announcement at the State Department. "American taxpayer dollars will not be used to underwrite abortions," he added. "This is decent; this is right."

#2  "abortion-obsessed,"

Sounds like projection to me...

#3  Pompeo enjoys watching toddlers laugh and play, enjoy the gift of life. Certainly must be something wrong with him.

#4  If you want to enjoy some visible cognitive dissonance, just ask a socialist why the government - any government - should pay for an elective procedure to alter an elective and temporary condition.

#5  Because they want to get the government out of the bedroom of course...

#7  Lemme get this straight, Dems want American taxpayers to foot the bill for abortions all over the world? No wonder we're $20 trillion in debt.

Dems and Muzzies in total butthurt over Pennsylvania legislator's opening prayer
[Daily Caller] Republican Pennsylvania State Rep. Stephanie Borowicz outraged Democrats by mentioning Jesus 13 times in her invocation on the day of Pennsylvania’s first female Muslim representative’s swearing-in.

Borowicz thanked Jesus, "the King of Kings; the Lord of lords; the great I Am; the One who’s coming back again; the One who came, died, and rose again on the third day," for the honor of being His ambassador, asked forgiveness on behalf of America for forgetting Him and for Him to heal the country, praised Him for President Donald Trump’s support of Israel and declared that "at the name of Jesus every knee will bow."

Democratic Pennsylvania State Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell, the first female Muslim representative in the state’s legislature, decried the Monday prayer as offensive, as did state Democratic leadership.
